5 out of 5 eggsDoes the Job & Easy to Upgrade

Pros: Everything works as spec'ed. Runs cool & charges fast. Decent battery life even with the screen turned up halfway plus. Surfs great and can run Open Office without problems. Fine for light graphics work. Standard keys - no num-pad - touch-pad is functional for light work but I use a wireless mouse.

I replaced the laptop HDD with an OCZ SSD. Better than good lovin' from the little woman! I've got an external 500GB drive I use for storage, but will eventually purchase a Vantec external enclosure from the Egg for the original HDD (could HDD prices get any more ridiculous?).

Yet to upgrade the RAM - actually surprised how well it's running with a single 2GB stick (& the SSD) with light multitasking. Heavy multi-taskers should probably snag a new kit.

Cons: My pudgy fingers and tiny laptop screws.

Other Thoughts: Comes with 1 2GB stick of Samsung 1333 M471B577 3DH0-CH9 1123 / 250GB Toshiba MK2576GSX HDD2J95 F VL01 T / MU06 6-cell battery

Be careful when opening from the center or you might catch the of the touch-pad buttons by mistake if you are not paying attention. Sound is crisp & clean but don't expect high-volume decibels.

No worries for me but some folks might find viewing angles limited with the screen turned down really low.

2 out of 5 eggsNot so great.

Pros: The price. Runs MS Office.

Cons: My experience has been less that wonderful...the machine is incredibly slow to start up, completely freezes on Facebook games/apps, constantly goes out of synch when watching streaming movies and, can't handle AE Origin or games. It's basically good for MS Office applications.

Other Thoughts: If you want to play games, watch movies or do anything like that, spend the extra money and buy a better computer.

4 out of 5 eggsBasic, cost effective laptop

Pros: Cost effective
Decent performance
Nice screen

Cons: None noted

Other Thoughts: In regard to another review, I 'm not quite sure why a Tech Level 5 HDMI Guy would even buy this computer. It's obvious it doesn't have an HDMI output, so why buy if that was so important, and then bash it on the rating? I think this computer is just fine for what it is...a basic laptop for basic computing. It will easily handle everyday tasks such as email, web browsing, watching/playing std CD's/ DVD's, and lower resolution multimedia such as y**tube videos and so on. If you are into gaming, high resolution tasks, and/or more demanding applications, you should expect to pay more and get a higher performance laptop. I like these cheap laptops- they will perform most tasks and you cry a lot less down the road when they get stolen, broken in your baggage, quit working, or your kid drops it during a college party. Its also a lot cheaper to upgrade to newer models as better technology arrives.

1 out of 5 eggsNO HDMI

Pros: Cheap. For everyone with teens in school this is a decent deal.

Cons: Very low end. Only 2gb ram, when ram right now is dirt cheap. No HDMI. The video chip on the motherboard supports HDMI, they just are too cheap to put a $5 or less connector on it. Too bad.

Other Thoughts: This unit is good for small children and teens. Not good for adults. Buy an ASUS they come with allot more bells and whistles for around the same price.

1 out of 5 eggsBroken Keyboard

Pros: Runs very cool. Since it runs so cool you almost never hear the fan spin up so it stays quiet as well. Relatively fast. Decent integrated graphics.

Cons: The keyboard on the model I received was broken, fresh out of the box. Several of the keys didn't push down squarely, requiring odd amounts of force. I guess we'll see what happens with the warranty, or if they'll claim it was user abuse.

Other Thoughts: I guess if you get a good model out of the box, nice luck. An otherwise nice laptop getting 1 egg for horrid QA at the factory. I could see maybe it if was the hard drive, or maybe a bad bit in the ram or the screen with bad pixels, but the keyboard - it's so easy to check. How can you screw up the keyboard and not notice it? We'll see how the warranty goes, maybe revise my review later.

5 out of 5 eggsYou get more than what you paid for it

Pros: The laptop is small and light, but sturdy at the same time. Keyboard feels good, I like my laptops w/o number pads so I especially love this one. The CPU isn't anything special, but it runs very well form what I've been doing. At 1.6 GHz I am satisfied with its output. Runs games like Heros of Newerth and cs source, well. Another thing is that it runs very very cool! It's definitely on the quiet side when it come to AMD, as well. The black finish looks very sleek and simple. There's a good touchpad on this, if your the kind of person who doesn't need a mouse to operate. The screen is good too, very bright. I was expecting a little bit less. Also, keep in mind I bought 8 GBs of ram to go with this, so IO went from 2:8. Makes it so much easier for the CPU to quickly access files and multitasking is awesome. I HIGHLY recommend to buy new ram whether 4,6, or 8 GB's. For 40$ you can't go wrong.

Cons: Only con I've found was by the slot reader, there is a ding or a big dent if you want to call it that. I'd say something happened during shipping, but has not effected the laptop at all. Like I said very sturdy.

Other Thoughts: For the price($350), you can't go wrong and it gets the job done. It has only been one week, but from owning a laptop before the first impression is good. “A computer once beat me at chess, but it was no match for me at kick boxing.”

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Purchase... Works Great!

Pros: Slick little laptop that is great for everyday tasks and some light gaming. Remains cool and quiet even when stressing both cores to 100%.

Cons: Typical bloatware that needs to be uninstalled.
5400rpm HardDrive makes for some long installs.
Power cord plugs into the right side of the laptop often getting in the way if you are using a wired mouse.
Borderless touchpad will leave you with your fingers guessing as to where the pad stops and the chassis begins.

Other Thoughts: Shipped with a single 2Gb stick of RAM installed, so if you are on a budget you only need to buy one stick of 2Gb RAM to get to 4Gb.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop

Pros: I think this laptop is awesome. I have had several netbooks (ion, plain atom), as well as a zacate motherboard. I think this is just amazing for its price. I can do many things with this laptop.

The greatest part of this laptop is that it is totally cool even after hard core processing.

Cons: None
