5 out of 5 eggsBetter than I expected!

Pros: Very sturdy build quality and long-lasting Fusion finish both tell me that this laptop will stand against wear and tear longer than average. The performance was even better than I expected, running my favorite and somewhat recent games with very high settings. The touchpad (though I use a mouse) slides very comfortably because of its semi-rough finish, unlike those glossy touchpads that stick to your finger. The fingerprint reader works great too! The 9-cell battery nicely elevates the fan's intake for better airflow and a more comfortable keyboard angle.

Cons: Not many cons here, and honestly I had more PROS to write about had there been a longer character limit! The DC Connector is positioned on the right side of the unit, which can be a little obstructive to those with very limited desktop space using a mouse, since the AC plug sticks out a good inch-and-a-half. Speakers, although phenomenal for the standard of laptops, can make some games sound akward, such as Counter-Strike, for their lack of strong bass. I always recommend gaming with a headset anyway. The LCD Display is not the highest quality, as it seems washed out at optimal viewing angles, and the 1280x800 resolution limit can seem a little ancient (you can always void your warranty and upgrade it).

Other Thoughts: I really can't complain with this one! I researched for about a month and came to the conclusion that this laptop had the best performance for the money, based on the games I wanted to play on it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat specs, but watch the power!

Pros: I do not own this laptop, but was seriously considering it because of the incredible price/performance value.

Cons: I am happy that newegg posts the power adapter specs on this. I own a toshiba laptop now, and my biggest gripe is their power adapter. It draws over 6amps, and I have tried 6 different power inverters and universal car adapters for this laptop, and none will work. Even with the battery out, I couldn't get the 120watt universal kit for laptops to power my 15.4" notebook. Kinda makes my navigation software useless (at least with my poor battery life).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat deal!

Pros: This is a great deal at this price point - Penryn core, great ATI graphics card, long battery life, dual hard drives with lots of storage. Fusion finish is really cool, and I love the glossy keyboard. I bought this two weeks ago when it was $150 off, which made it an even better deal. Wireless range is great. Media keys are really cool, and white light along the top of the touchpad casts a serene glow at night. Synced up right away with my Toshiba HDTV using HDMI - DVDs played using this laptop looked better than thru my $800 Denon DVD player. Screen is nice and bright and clear.

Cons: None to speak of, considering what you get for the price. Burning a dual-layer DVD was a bit slower than my desktop with a 4-year old Plextor burner, but burn time was still respectable. Toshiba software DVD player which comes pre-loaded always changes the screen resolution, but I plan to install powerdvd, which should solve the problem. Blu-ray would have been nice, but not expected at this price.

Other Thoughts: No real problems w/ Vista so far. Does not always recognize my XP pc on my network, but that's a common problem from what I've read. NewEgg, as usual, was awesome. At my door two days after shipping.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome value!

Pros: Dual hard drives provide lots of space and future upgradability (only models with 2 HDs installed have the second set of hardware), awesome performance graphics card for this class of laptop (512MB DDR2 graphics memory is actually discrete, not dedicated - discrete is better) that will be good for years, 3 GB ram is great for modern games and media performance, 15.4" screen and ~6 lbs. is (in my opinion) the biggest to be comfortably portable and the extended capacity battery is a nice touch. The harman/kardon speakers are a HUGE improvement over the speakers on my previous Toshiba laptop.

Cons: The horizontal viewing angle is actually not up to what I expected, less than on my previous Toshiba laptop, the secondary HD truly is a slug at 4200 RPM but functional.

The standard battery life is only 2.5 hours with a decent workload but I have managed to drain it in an hour and a half with some extreme effort.

Other Thoughts: The asking price for this laptop is significantly less than other laptops with comparable specs and it will be "current" for years to come as is, but is also easilly upgradeable to a 64 bit OS which would enable a fourth GB (ram) to be recognized and swapping out the slower HD is not a difficult task. For me it is the best deal you can get for something portable yet stands alone as a solid desktop replacement. I still can't get over how versatile it is for the cost as a game machine, media center, desktop replacement, data storage device, and communications center (WiFi A/B/G/N with the webcam/mic can help you stay in touch with the world). I was skeptical of the "Fusion Finish" and didn't care about it, but when seeing it in person even I had to agree that it is rather sharp!

5 out of 5 eggsBest Laptop Ive owned PERIOD!

Pros: I bought this model from wally world...I have since upgraded a few things, all were purchased from newegg ofcourse.
I upgraded from home premium 32-bit to ultimate w/sp1 64-bit. I also upgraded from 3gb of ram to 4gb by adding a 2gb corsair value select stick. Last but not least, I took out the toshiba 200gb 4200rpm slug of a hd and put in the Seagate Momentus 7200.2 ST9200420AS 200GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb.
My vista hd score went from a 4.6? to a 5.4 and my overall score went from a 4.8 to a 5.0 due to the t8100 processor...I am waiting for newegg to drop the price of the t9300, then I'll pick one up.

Cons: toshibas slug 4200rpm hd

Other Thoughts: I am very pleased at the overall performance and build quality of this laptop. Kevin over at notebook reviews did an oustanding review of this model.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazzzzzzing!

Pros: There are so many amazing things on this laptop. I was pleasantly surprised by the buttons for the media. They are sensors like the PS3, not really buttons. The keyboard is nice and comfortable actually. The specs on this laptop are amazing. I looked through Geforce graphics cards, but this was def. the better end of the deal. I ran Unreal Tournament 3 with max settings on and it didn't even blink!! For what this laptop offers, its the best deal on newegg!

Cons: Vista....-_- and spending 3 hrs making it work right on my computer.

This link helps with vista problems by the way:

Other Thoughts: So happy to have this laptop. Super sexy and sleek. Battery life is around 3 max performance. :D
