Really?!?! You can't be serious?!?! Wait you are...
- Pros: This a great notebook for the money. no were else can you find these specs for this $700. Lots of Ram, HD space, and a more than sufficent Processor. you won't Run high end games with it, but everything else will run great.
- Cons: HB and everyone like has lower than average tech level! Don't talk doodoo about a system you know nothing about. See below. I rarely do this but here i go, bring in the soapbox....
- Other Thoughts: to everyone trying to figure out the hard drive size issue: Its not bits to bytes. Its not even the laptop manufactuer trying to swindle you like some suggest. It is that every hard drive manufactuer defines 1 Gigabyte as 1000*1000*1000 bytes and not the actual 1024*1024*1024 bytes. So instead of you getting your full 320 Gigabytes you are getting about 300 when the hard drive is formated and installed. This has been an issue for quite some time and it all boils down to marketing. Makes you feel like your getting more than you actually are. Don't blame the laptop! Its not the laptops issue. Its a Hard drive issue that is the same for every hard drive made. Just go read the retail box of the hard drives at Worst Buy.

Fast and cool!
- Pros: Very fast.
Stays cool, although I have it on for 12-14 hours a day as my primary computer.
Beautiful design.
It has everything I need plus more.
It wasn't jammed up with a ton of extraneous garbage. I usually have to spend about a day uninstalling junk from a new computer and that was just not the case with this Toshiba.
Great keyboard and much better touchpad than I am used to. It has very good action and I like the textured surface on the pad.
- Cons: Unfortunately, unknown to me (and I take full responsibility for that lack of foresight so it is NOT a mark against the laptop), I was unable to use some of my previously purchased security software due to non-compatibility with 64bit. I still love it enough to have replaced those softwares with some that are compatible so, while it is somewhat moot, I felt it was noteworthy.
- Other Thoughts: This is the second Toshiba laptop for my household and I could not be more pleased. It is remarkably fast and efficient. The degree to which it stays cool is mind-blowing to me. Of course, I keep it on a stand (the Rolodex steel mesh stands are top notch!) so that there is proper circulation. After 12 hours a day it is actually still cool! I have this wired to my monitor and all the rest of the peripherals (keyboard, mouse, speakers, printer, router, ext modem) since I use it as a primary, and everything works wonderfully. With such a large hard drive, so much RAM, and at such a great price for all that you get, it was the perfect choice for my new primary computer.

Almost a convert
- Pros: I have to admit that I used to hate laptops. This one is converting me (though I still don't care for Vista). I needed to start going mobile but didn't want to spend a lot on my first laptop. For the price this is a nice unit. Descent speed, beautiful display, nice features (like the wi-fi radar) and not too much bloatware to remove. Touchpad sensitivity is adjustable, so for those of us with big hands this is a plus. Just wish keyboards were bigger on any laptop.
- Cons: VISTA!!!! but what can you do. I've read that a lot of pc's and laptops that come with Vista don't work so well if you wipe them and try to install XP, etc. That's ok, I don't mind learning a new system now and then
- Other Thoughts: As always, Newegg had the best price and their shipping time is second to none!!!!
L305-S5907
- Pros: Bought two of these for Christmas presents, great deal for 599. The 4 gig RAM and 320 G hard drive were hard to beat at that price. Was wondering if the Vista OS was going to be troublesome, but so far no problems. The kids have loaded their programs, and started to download their music and videos with no issues. I have an old Toshiba laptop, more than 2 years old and still working great. I expecting these two to do the same.
- Cons: Haven't encountered any yet, although the speakers could be alittle better. Sound tinny.

- Pros: great deal fast great features for the price! this is not a top end computer but in the price range you wont find a better unit. wireless n connected intermediately to my network at 130mbps speed!
- Cons: i cant turn it off so i am missing the sabres game!
- Other Thoughts: add a logitech v320 cordless laptop mouse for even more fun!
