fairly good laptop
- Pros: pretty decent computer, i gave it to my sister as a gift, she liked it. fast and smooth enough
- Cons: well, i know this appies to all laptop out there, my sister was used to the 2002 toshiba laptop that didnt come with the screen like this ACER one has, she had hard time working with photo and other visual workshops..the screen is reflecting too much light.
- Other Thoughts: for the price, this is fairly a good computer
Nice Piece of Equipment
- Pros: Fast, handles Vista well, good price for what you get.
- Cons: VERY erratic touchpad. I hooked up a mouse so I can avoid it, but those who rely on the touchpad may get a little annoyed.
- Other Thoughts: A good piece of hardware for the money.
Excellent buy!
- Pros: Very fast and responsive. Don't let Vista scare you. Tons of extras and plenty of resources for any computing activity except gaming. I set it up with FruityLoops and some other recording software... it man-handled everything I threw at it with one arm behind it's back.
- Cons: 3GB of RAM = no Dual Channel. However, running 1GB more than a 2GB machine w/ Dual Channel is going to end up being about the same. For Vista, I'd prefer 3GB. For XP, I'd prefer 2GB in Dual Channel.
- Other Thoughts: Lots of excellent features that sets it way ahead of others in it's price range. Acer builds excellent machines. Also, there is no dedicated video card so if you're looking to go down the gaming route, you'll have to look elsewhere.
