5 out of 5 eggsReliable and light!

Pros: Over the past 3 years, this machine has been rock-solid reliable through dozens of trips, stickers, curious kids, rough treatment, and software and hardware upgrades. It was easy to pull out the original RAM and HD and put in an 8GB stick and a new 2.5"/7mm SSD (and Fedora Linux)---which I recommend because the machine is basically silent now, and the battery life is even better!

Cons: The metal top keyboard plate has become separated from the frame on one of the corners. It's a little annoying, but it's the only thing I've found wrong with the machine in almost 3 years.

Other Thoughts: I know it won't make much difference to folks looking for laptops in 2015, but for posterity, I'd like teh internetz to know that this machine was one of the good ones. This is hands-down my favorite laptop ever. I just did a search, and to get something now as good as this machine was 3 years ago will cost $1000. What happened?!?

4 out of 5 eggsVery happy with this "little" tool

Pros: Size was the number one consideration as well as the matte screen. 3 lbs and 12.5" matte screen in a 11.6 frame is very nice. The I-5 processor is also very nice, I had a netbook before and the processing power of this is a welcome change. I can actually do some real life work on this ;)
I would agree with other reviewers that this is almost an ultrabook for a LOT less money. Includes MS Office starter which has full versions of Word and Excel. The Samsung apps are actually useful.
Full 4gigs of memory installed.
Nice keyboard layout although the keyboard is mediocre.

Cons: Some bloatware, but not a lot... it's easily removed.
Only 2 USB ports, not really an issue for me though.
Battery not removable.
5400 drive.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am super happy with this laptop so far. I'll post with any issues that come up in the future.
Beautiful sized package with some computing power and storage that is just begging to travel in a sleeve or small satchel. After putting this through it's paces for a few days, I'm looking forward to using this "tool" for many years to come.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Overall size/weight (see specs), solid build, responsive processor, matte screen, island keyboard, decent trackpad, sleek appearance, quiet. Near ultrabook specs/performance in a netbook size package.

Cons: Limited viewing angle, no bluetooth, 2 USB ports, refurb does not include mini-VGA adapter (available elsewhere), difficult to upgrade common components.

Other Thoughts: The i5-2467M does a nice balancing performance and power consumption vs i3 series which can feel sluggish under load. PowerPlus charging system should extend overall life of battery which is important given not easily replaced. Setting can be toggled from within OS which allows for a full charge as needed. Matte screen is very readable and reasonably vibrant when viewed straight on. Trackpad responsive, easy to reconfigure. 5400 RPM drive a little sluggish at times. Wake from sleep times comparable to other laptops (2-3 seconds). 40W adapter works hard when applying a full charge but remains cool otherwise. Preinstalled Samsung utilities/apps useful. Overall very pleased with purchase.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent "Ultrabook" Look-Alike

Pros: Initially, I was worried that with the laptop being so thin, there would be a noticeable distortion with torque. However, everything is built fairly solidly in this laptop. The brush aluminum lid is sleek and isn't a smudge-magnet. Plastic wrist rests, and an aluminum top finish. The keyboard has good travel and it's really nice to have dedicated function keys even if you have to hit the 'Fn' to access them.

The trackpad is a good size, and is compatible with Synaptics multitouch drivers.

The laptop is fairly comparable to an ultrabook in its look and weight. The screen is a bit smaller, but Samsung does a great job fitting 12.5" matte into an 11.6" frame. Obviously, no SSD, but I've never been a huge stickler with speed.

Fan noise has been fairly minimal even when booting up long programs written in MATLAB. There's even an option to turn off the fan if you want (just be sure not to overheat your

Cons: BLOATWARE. My goodness, there is a lot of bloatware on this computer. Samsung, Intel, Best Buy, Norton, etc. Takes a bit of time to life all that stuff off.

The mini-VGA adapter is not included in the refurbished buy, something to keep note of.

There are only 2 USB ports, and neither of them are 3.0. I don't personally care much for the 3.0, but I would have liked another port.

The trackpad is solid overall, but the click bar is substandard. The pressure points are very limited to the ends -- any applied pressure elsewhere is a hit and miss for response. Also, there are a few drivers not installed with the refurbished.

Perhaps most disturbing is that the battery is sealed into the computer's base; there isn't a way to remove the battery like in other laptops. I'm assuming you can open up your laptop via the bottom and replace it in that fashion, but of course, you'd void your warranty and risk damage if you don't know what you're doing.

Other Thoughts: I give it a 4/5 primarily because of the non-removable battery. With a brand new unit, this wouldn't be much of a problem, but since this is a refurbished unit, it'd be nice to be able to swap the battery out more easily.

Overall though, this is a pretty good substitute for an ultrabook if you don't have the cash and don't mind carrying the extra ounces. Quality product from what I can tell so far. I'll update if anything wrong happens.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Performance

Pros: Almost Ultrabook, same cpu performance and it is really convenient to carry everywhere. CPU win 7 rating 5.9. I think it depends what kind of usage you want.
The most important is that the price is so adorable.

For girls, it is better to own this one instead of 15.6 or 14.

Cons: It seems to be the product which installed so many other software inside the operating system.

Other Thoughts: Overall, you know all most ultra.

Pros: This is a great Ultra-portable, I am averaging ~6 hours of battery life just surfing the internet. The matte screen is great for viewing anywhere even in direct sunlight.

Notes about refurb:
Condition looks like new, except:
mine was missing the mini-VGA to VGA adapter

Cons: The Laptop DOES NOT include bluetooth, it does however have WIMAX. I was extremely disappointed about the bluetooth as it only has 2 usb ports so bluetooth is required. IMO.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy if you need the bluetooth.
