Cons: This laptop arrived with constant blue screen errors referencing bad memory. I had to almost immediately ship the laptop to Samsung's repair center at my cost, with servicing to take up to two weeks.

Pros: * I love the screen. Beautiful non-reflective matt.
* Linux friendly, installed Ubuntu 12.04, everything worked out of the box.
* It's fast. Downloaded emacs 24.x source, compiled faster than I could have imagined.
* feels sturdy, time will tell.

Cons: * Like others, I would like to have USB 3.
* Built in speakers are a joke, but I haven't found a laptop yet in which they weren't.

Other Thoughts: Not a big gamer, so can't really comment on the graphics, but they work fine for all my needs so far.

Pros: I am suspecting the computer to be very advanced based on the reviews and description. Good speed. Turns on fast.

Cons: However, the 3 day shipping takes forever. I ordered my product Friday. It is now Tuesday and I still have no received my product. More than 3 days.

Pros: From what I saw out of it, it seems to be a solid laptop! Nice design and fast. (You can go into the bios the change a few battery management setting to make it run faster from what I read) I would have loved to have used it for more than the 2 hours it lasted.

Cons: Last 2 hours and the monitor went blank (like it went to sleep). Giggled the mouse and that is when I noticed the power supply and battery light was on, but the HDD light has stopped. I hard rebooted it to find it not booting to the boot screen or the bios. Samsung says it is a 'hardware failure' (mostly likely the mainboard) and no way to fix it without sending it in.

Other Thoughts: I am currently trying to get this rectified. I had this hand carried out to Africa to replace my current laptop that is on its third deployment and is having issues. Newegg will not refund, only send the laptop to be repaired by Samsung (which is estimated at 4-6 weeks plus the 3 weeks shipping time each way from Africa). Samsung refuses to service the laptop unless I bring it in to a shop in Africa somewhere (they must thing Africa is a small country and not a huge continent) and don't understand the concept of a deployment. So right now I have a credit card dispute open since I can't seem to make progress with either Newegg or Samsung to get this fixed in a timely manner. Personally I just want my money back since I can't use it for what I bought it for (to finish out my deployment). You might have better luck than I did... It seems like a great buy, I just didn't have a crummy experience.

Other Thoughts: Very nice computer that performs well. The only thing that I would change are the speakers. Right out of the box the speakers sound like they are already blown. But no worries just plug some headphones in and it fixes the problem. Also I got a free xbox with purchase of this computer and who doesn't want something free.

Pros: * No trouble with source games and Civ IV

* Dual booting Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS is a breeze
* Boots Ubuntu in ~15 seconds with a HDD not SSD.

Cons: * Personally I'm not a fan of having a num pad on laptops but that is personal prefrence
* Touch pad can be over sensitive with multi-touch gestures
* have to hold down FN key to adjust volume.
* can't get it to boot linux from a live USB flash drive. For whatever reason its not listed as an option in BIOS, but I could be missing something.

Other Thoughts: This is a nice computer for the price. I plan to load some more graphics and processor intensive programs on in the future such as Solid Works and Photoshop but have not had the chance to do so yet. I have a feeling this computer should handle them nicely though.

Pros: It's fast. Keeps up with my web browsing. The system was easy to set up. Definitely a lot of extra programs I didn't personally want, but beyond that... plenty of room. Plays my movies, my games, and the battery life is Amazing compared to laptops i've had in the past.

Cons: Graphics kind of glitch out on the main game I play. Not sure as to why yet.

Other Thoughts: Right out of the box I installed an Intel 330 120gb ssd which makes the notebook scream. After posting the boot time is literally seconds to get to the desktop. I took the 750gb hard drive and stuck it in an external enclosure since I needed an external drive anyways which essentially made the ssd I put in pay for itself.

Pros: -Super fast! Takes about 2 seconds to wake back up.
-The i5 processor with the Intel 4000 graphics can really play some nice games on low to medium graphics settings which really surprised me.
-Consistently maintains low temperatures while staying pretty quiet.
-Small blue notification light when webcam is on
-Non-glossy screen
-Easy accessibility to the memory and hard drives (To switch out or replace them).
-Does good at keeping fingerprints away
-Very user-friendly with the laptop settings
-Good laptop battery life (3 hours with use to 5 hours)
-Lightweight and portable!
-Perfect for the average student

Cons: -No backlit/Illuminated keyboard
-Space bar is loud and makes typing somewhat uncomfortable after each press.
-The trackpads driver made the laptop get the BSOD several times, and I had to get a driver for it from elsewhere. Now the extra trackpad stuff does not function for me (scroll, zoom,etc.)
-Will mistakenly press the "Fn" key and the "0" key near the arrow-keys at times
-Notification lights are on the front side of the keyboard, when it could have been easier to see if they were near the front speakers and the power button since there is plenty of space there.
-Comes with the usual Samsung bloatware/software

Other Thoughts: It is a great laptop for the price, and pretty lightweight and portable. It is perfect for the average college student. Waiting 15 seconds or more for software to be fully functional is a thing of the past for me with this laptop. If you are able to look past the small nuances that the laptop might have, then it is a perfect choice. Would give it a 4.5/5 stars if I could.
