5 out of 5 eggsSuprisingly Quick for Vista OS

Pros: Extremely quick compared to my Lenovo X61 dual core, even with Vista. 64 bit OS, free upgrade to Windows 7, I got the 1 day deal they had and saved 300 bones.

Cons: Bloatware. Typical HP, but easy to remove.

Other Thoughts: Touchpad very responsive, 4 Gig of ram, HDMI port. lightning fast shipping as usual from the Egg.

4 out of 5 eggsNice machine

Pros: Came with 64 bit Vista and free upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out. 4 GB of RAM which is needed to run Vista properly! Very good looking laptop and perfect size. Best screen picture I've seen yet on an HP even from an angle on the sides. Has eSATA port. Boots fast and runs great!

Cons: First one I bought didn't past post and blue screen crashed about 20 times while trying to figure out what was wrong with it. Returned it and got another that works perfect. Bad luck of the draw I guess. Probably dropped durring shipping.

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my mother for her birthday and I didn't want to give it up! She is very impressed and put her old clunker to rest. Gave this 4 stars becuase of the first purchase, but give it 5 stars on the second one. I would buy another.

1 out of 5 eggsBoat anchor

Pros: None

Cons: The laptop consistently hardware-locked after few minutes of up time. HP phone support recommended restoring from restore partition - It locked up during restore (hardware-lock not a software malfunction). HP support asked to ship it to them for repair (not replacement).

Other Thoughts: Newegg came to the rescure and processed a full refund. Still lost on shipping and reveresed combo discount - items I would not have bought if not for the combo discount.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little laptop!

Pros: Great size, screen quality, overall appearance, good processor, 4 GB ram

Cons: Nothing bad to say thus far

Other Thoughts: This is the computer my college age daughter wanted. She just loved how it looked. She wouldn't have cared if it had marshmallows inside! Thankfully, it does not. Runs well. She is extremely pleased. Wish we had gotten it after the price drop. Oh well...

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Laptop!

Pros: Super fast processor (for a laptop), plenty of RAM, on/off button for mouse pad (see cons). Doesn't get anywhere near as hot as my old Toshiba Satellite A105 (which died due to overheating).

The included remote control (surprise!) stores in the ExpressCard slot if you don't want to use (loose) it. Should come in handy while listening to MP3's in a hotel room.

For $600 shipped this is a no-brainer.

Cons: Mouse pad is the best I've experienced, which doesn't mean much since it's still a flippin' mouse pad. Invest in a good wireless mouse like the V450 Nano and turn off the pad.

The volume 'bar' could be a bit more responsive, I'd prefer a plain old rotary knob.

Other Thoughts: I don't know what everyone's beef is about Vista, but if Windows 7 is that much better I can't wait for my FREE upgrade CD to show up. This computer IS eligible at, even though NewEgg doesn't seem to feel the need to mention that.

Dale Jr. just needs to pick a profession. Driver, owner, commercials, fishing, dental assistant, whatever. Concentrate on ONE thing (like driving in Cup), loose the rest of the distractions, and be happy that he made his best effort. On the other hand, if he can't win driving cars put together in the Hendrick garage....

Back to the computer... Included 6 cell battery lasted almost 3 hours on full charge. 12 cell upgrade made it over 5 hours and still had some left.

I was a tad worried about the white/chrome color scheme making me look like a sissy, but it actually looks kinda cool. I'm sure it will be smokin' hot after I get my 8" Steelers logo stuck on the lid ;-)

5 out of 5 eggs5 eggs

Pros: Light, portable, doesn't feel cheap, all the ports a man could ask for. battery life is pretty good for such a powerful laptop.
there's a button to turn off the mouse pad which i like because i bumped it alot while typing on other laptops. comes with a remote

Cons: fingerprints show on mousepad.... battery life only shows percentage of battery left, not the time left....all i can see as of right now

Other Thoughts: overall, i am compeltley satisfied, booting up the desktop is almost instant now, my old laptop took like 8 minutes to load up desktop. very happy with the laptpo

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop for the Price!!!

Pros: Let’s start off with the case, really nice looking, lightweight, with easy access interfaces. Very responsive machine, even with VISTA, can't wait for WINDOWS 7 and it comes with this unit. Processor speed is adequate, plenty of memory, and nice graphics card for the money. Plays DVDs great, and so far, handles large Excel and Access databases with ease. Nice bright screen graphics with no pixel loss. Really can’t ask for anything more, especially for $599 shipped free by Newegg.

Cons: Of course, VISTA, but you can set VISTA to act like XP. The sound card could use an upgrade, could be louder, but sufficient. The battery life is fine if you drop down the monitor brightness, cut down the CPU speed a tad and leave the Wireless turned off when not in use.

Other Thoughts: This machine will really ROCK once you receive your copy of WINDOWS 7. I've been building computers for family and friends since 1988. I'm 57 and pretty much, seen it all, nice going HP on this one.

5 out of 5 eggswow, tis thing is nice

Pros: this thing has everything most computer users would need and then some. looks classy, has the best mouse pad I have ever used on a laptop, hands down.

Cons: I bought it, then it goes on sale. I would like to see the price lowered by half a benjamin BEFORE any rebate. That would be a fair price.

Other Thoughts: I realy hope that Dale Jr. quits racing, or at least driving, so he will stop embarrassing his father's legacy. He needs to be an owner, not a driver. Ask Richard Childress.
