Good for the Price
- Pros: FullSized Keyboard
Gaming is Decent Faster than my last one Decent Cooling
- Cons: Speakers aren't that impressive
Plagued with Problems MSI recovery package is lacking Not as flexible for other OSes and Uses
- Other Thoughts: After 4months I am plagued with problems. Laptops are Consumer goods and are meant to break.
Problems, DVD drive is faulty, USB ports are faulty, Harddrive crashed out on me. No Vista included for nuking HD If you didn't know how to use the Turbo, Camera, and Modes properly, expect a learning curve. Worth the money but don't count on it lasting long.
Great, but not Perfect
- Pros: Great GPU for the money
320 GB HDD Full Sized Keyboard (only a couple things are a little off) High Resolution screen Runs any game out now, and many on High
- Cons: Some problems with overheating before I got a cooling pad
Still overheats and shuts off under high load with "Turbo Mode" "Eco Modes" are really pretty worthless gimmick Slow Hard Drive Speaker blew the first week I had it, makes a crackling sound
- Other Thoughts: Playing Fallout 3 on High with HDMI to a 1920x1080 56" monitor is just awesome, and this machine handles it easily.
Left4Dead on highest settings on 1680x1050. Speakers are decent, but don't set them too high or they'll blow I use it for college. Gaming between classes and writing papers by night, some Youtube in there and it's all a great experience. WELL worth $800 now (I paid $1100)
Great Laptop Today For Less
- Pros: - High resolution 1650x1050.
- Lots of space 320 GB. - Fast enough CPU. - Great sound. - Fast enough VGA (CAN handle almost every game on HIGH). - Great Built Quality ! - Lightweight. - Beautiful design. - Not an fingerprints magnet, not too glossy. - Free Bag !
- Cons: - When Loaded Hardly, getting little hot, NOT a problem actually as many people have said here. Any Laptop makes heat when heavy loaded. IMHO.
- Only 5400 RPM HDD. But again 7200 RPM would make it more expensive. - Battery life. About 2 hours on battery saver. Could be better. But the screen and CPU with VGA are big consumers in this baby.
I CAN live with those Cons, can you ? If YES, don't hesitate to get it while REBATE is available !!!
I think this line of Laptops GT series from MSI, have some perspectives in the near future.
And I think that's it. Seriously.
- Other Thoughts: Many people said here that x32 system is an wrong move, because the system uses only 3 GB of RAM. But I think this is one of the best option in this laptop.
Under x64 you don't get a fastest system overall. Just for 4 GB of RAM ? Who cares ? Vista flies with 3 GB. If you REALLY need 4 GB, you can get x64 system later, not a big deal. Say thank you MSI, they putted 4 GB for you. IMHO.
