5 out of 5 eggsGreat For the Price

Pros: Exelent Laptop, it does what is meant to.
Good CPU.
Good GPU.
Good Amount of RAM memory.

The Dynaudio Audio System is Just Great Also, the cooling is pretty good also. (just get a Laptop fan and heat problems are all gone)

Cons: I havent found any cons, the blu ray software con everyone is complaining about. Just Buy a new software to read blu rays no big deal really or contact the software to get the updates.

no problems with the BSOD either.

The Product Key Label of Windows Home Premium 7 Did no come with the Laptop thats strange.
Or its very deep in the product box.

Other Thoughts: This is not really a Con, thats why im typing this here it was expected, when you play music with high Bass, the space bar starts to buzz.
Pretty good sound makes the space bar buzz, not a con but sometimes makes me think my audio system is broken.

backlit keyboard, or the other Light cons are not cons. its easy to buy a USB light or to just know the order of the Keyboard.

5 out of 5 eggsSo Far So Good

Pros: You already have the specs. This is a nice machine.
I have tested everything in the 2 days I have had it except Bluetooth. all are working well.

Fast response from MSI online tech support for BD software failing to update. They provided a link within a 1/2 hour to WinDVD2010.

Cons: I ran into the issue already mentioned by others, BD software failed to update.

I don't like RAID 0. I will probably remove the RAID and create a boot drive with SSD and use the second 320 GB drive for D:\

Other Thoughts: I bought this for my son. He will need a laptop for school next year and his gaming PC just died. I bought a Toshiba first from a national chain. Wireless N could not get a link speed of more than 57 MB. Telephone support suggested I contact my ISP for connection speed :) Battery life was poor. 3D display was not worth the extra cost but that was just fluff, I bought it for CPU and GPU gaming capability.

Returned it got talked into an HP Envy that you could cook breakfast on it was so hot. 92C CPU and 90C GPU. Video card could not play BD or DVD without pixelation when AC was disconnected. Failed OCCT GPU tests when on battery. Battery life was extremely poor.

Found this slightly smaller machine, they were 17" This machine passes all the same test run on the Envy running 10 - 15 degrees cooler.

$768 cheaper than what I started out with after extended warranty and taxes are factored in.

I want one for me.

4 out of 5 eggsMSI GX660R-060

Pros: -I really like the orange lights. I think they compliment the curves of the chassis nicely without going overboard. I also really like how they can be turned off.
-Although I haven't used this for hardcore gaming, it has performed perfectly in the games I've played on it so far. WoW on max settings and The Sims 3 on max settings were the most graphics intensive games I've played on it.
-Chiclet style keyboard is really nice. The keys don't get crumbs under them and stick if you want to eat at your computer... Just blow or wipe crumbs away. It helps make everything easier to keep clean and shiny.
-The sound is awesome for a laptop. I'll admit it wasn't as amazing as I expected from previous reviews, but it is definitely loud and clear enough that you can watch movies on the laptop without having to lean over the speakers, wear headphones, or hook up external speakers.
-The screen is nice and bright and has pretty good viewing angles. Best for indoors in the dark.

Cons: -There's an issue with the SD card slot drivers which causes the computer to usually freeze during Windows startup if you leave an SD card in even during a restart. I actually reset to factory settings twice before I realized that it was just the SD card. I think there is a fix available for this on the manufacturer's site, tho.
-No volume scroll wheel or touch control. It's an fn keyboard shortcut, which is sufficient -at least I don't have to adjust it using the toolbar like my previous MSI- but a wheel or something would have been more convenient.
-The touchpad is seriously hard to use. I've always been a touchpad user too (not for games of course) and I just can't get used to it. I have to use a mouse with this computer.
-MSI LED manager (to customize the lights) seems poorly programmed. Also, the option to sync to music is okay.. but it mostly senses the volume and then a few of the lights flash annoyingly off-rhythm with the song.

Other Thoughts: The computer is big for a 15.6 (I think that's what it's supposed to be). You'll want to get probably a 17" case.
It's pretty well built. There's a bit of bend and flex to the screen, but it definitely feels pretty sturdy in general. I wouldn't want it thrown around or anything, but it does seem to be built to withstand most honest accidents, slips, and falls. Not going to test that theory, though.
Speaking of resilience, I like how the laptop's feet hold it high enough that when a cup of water got spilled on my desk next to my computer, it just pooled under it and did not touch the machine at all. And the chiclet style keyboard will protect against small splashes and spills.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Impressed

Pros: Just look at the specs! This laptop is a great desktop replacement. Plays all the games I enjoy at high quality. The price for a gaming laptop is hard to beat. It runs fairly cool even when gaming, but I do recommend a cooling pad.
Easy to upgrade.

Cons: Having issues figuring out how to turn on the s/pdif out for surround sound headphones. I have a turtle beach surround sound headset, and a s/pdif (3.5mm) to toslink cable, and it doesn't automatically recognize it.
It is fairly large - you'll need a bag/backpack for a 17" to carry it.
It would be nice to have a backlit keyboard.
The led lighting doesn't always work.
Included BD software isn't updating.

Other Thoughts: I wanted a laptop that could do anything I wanted, and this is it. Great video card for games, great processor, and BD rom!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: Great Sound, Fast, Blu-ray player is nice. Some people say it's noisy but mine isn't. Love the bluetooth. Handles any game well on high graphics with good fps rate. I play BFBC2 in 1920x1080 on med settings and it runs fantastic. Doesn't really run too hot. Avg GPU temp of about 80C. The orange LED's are sweet looking. Comes set up with Raid0.

I like the touch options above the keyboard for the turbo fan, turbo boost, wifi, bluetooth, programmable button and more.

The fan isn't super loud. It's quiet in my point of view.

Screen isn't really that bad. Not sure why everyone complains. Although I did adjust the Gamma, it was a bit bright for me.

Cons: Came formatted in a C: and D:. One for OS/Install and the D: was for data. I didn't like the partitions like that so I combined it into one. Would like a backlit keyboard, but it's no big deal. Maybe some lights for indicators to show when Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock are on.

Other Thoughts: Some people say it's horrible. They must of just had a bad one off the assembly line. I've had no problems at all. Runs great! I may make a short video review another time and upload it that way you guys can get a good look at it. Some lights for indicators to show when Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock are on would be nice.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent laptop

Pros: nice speakers, handles overclocking very well, runs fairly cool considering the hardware, turbo fan button is a plus, MSI TDE technology is definately a plus, lights are pretty cool, and short of pretty much knockin out any game on max settings. crysis ran pretty smooth at 1600X900 on all "very high" settings.

Cons: no indicator light to tell whether or not the caps lock is on or not, not exactly the highest quality of craftsmanship...almost completely plastic but not really a big deal, and screen could have been better.

Other Thoughts: really wish there was some sort of indicator light to tell whether or not the caps lock is activated...the speakers are pretty nice for a laptop. would definately recomend to anyone looking for a good gaming laptop able to handle all the recent games.

5 out of 5 eggsPc Technician

Pros: This thing is fast! I upgraded to ssd and 12gigs of ram right away. Everything scores 7.2 and up.the screen is nice idk what all the whining is about(its a laptop).and if you don't like the screen it has hdmi output anyway.sound is awesome.easy to work on if you want to replace cpu in future. Came setup with raid 0. Separate heatsinks for gpu and cpu.turbo fan is nice when your worried about heat.

Cons: The 3rd ram slot is under the keyboard so you gotta take all the screws out of the bottom and pop the top off as far as it will go and squeeze your hand in to replace the ram.hopefully that saves somebody some trouble. The keyboard could use some support on the left side and they rattle when you blast music. I didn't really care about any of these cons though.

Other Thoughts: Called msi to see where the 3rd ram slot was, they answered quickly and knew right away where it was. Wish laptops came with a windows 7 disc, luckily I had my own to wipe and reload. Very nice overall, I'm impressed and I think any gamer and multimedia junkie will be too.

Pros: This thing is fast as H**l! I upgraded to ssd and 12 gigs of ram right away. Everything scores 7.2 and up in windows. Screen is nice, sound is awesome.I don't know what all the whining is about with the screen(its a laptop).came set up with raid 0. everything is easy to get to if you wanna replace cpu in the future.separate heat sinks for gpu and cpu. Turbo fan option is nice.very good quality built solid laptop.

Cons: The 3rd ram slot is under the keyboard so you have to take all the screws out on the bottom. And pop the top off as far as it will go then you gotta squeeze your hand in to replace the ram, hopefully that'll save somebody some trouble.keyboard on the left side could use some support and they rattle when you blast music.

3 out of 5 eggsexcellent laptop

Pros: This laptop has an amazing display. Very easy to control screen modes. I especially like the feature to boost the cooling fan, comes in handy. Blows through any task i put it up against. like others have said, it runs very cool even on my lap.

Cons: KEYBOARD. feels like there is no support for the keys on the left hand side. very frustrating to me, but could be minor details for others, this and the loud BluRay drive detracted from 5 star rating. drive noise is annoying.

Other Thoughts: amazing performance, great aesthetics, perfect for watching movies, video editing, gaming... just wish the 2 cons were not an issue, but oh well nothing is perfect- would buy again/recommend

Newegg(and UPS) wins again- fastest shipping ever! even with the 2000feet of snow
