4 out of 5 eggsOverheats

Pros: Quiet keyboard, runs most game very nicely! I use it for World of Warcraft, runs max settings by default very well. Good resolution, neat keyboard lighting with decent sound for a laptop.

Cons: No indicator when caps lock or num lock is on.
It over heats, the cores run pretty hot even idle. While I'm playing games the cores get as hot as 95 degrees celcius. I'm sending my laptop back to the manufacturer for repairs. Be careful of this, keep a temp gauge running!

5 out of 5 eggs<3

Pros: Fast processor, 8Gb RAM ,1.5 GB graphics card... . The Back light keyboard looks awesome, the speakers are great. HDMI
Little Bloat software, ie was easy to uninstall everything i didn't want.
The OC and the fan boost keeps it fast and cool when playing games.

Cons: ... aa the black metal shows hand prints.. i'm having a hard time thinking of a con, that's a con..
ooo the Starcraft key was expired before i revived the pc but that's not a con of the lappy itself..
The 2 Raid 0 HD's were partitioned in to 2 drives "C" and a backup drive.. but that was an easy fix.. and was my preference.

Other Thoughts: If you are thinking about getting this or another MSI laptop get it, The keyboard looks so nice i wish my desktop had one, Its fast and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Machine!

Pros: Fast processor, plenty of ram, great graphics for a laptop. bright (matte) screen that looks great even in brighter environments. The Back light keyboard looks awesome, the speakers are great for a laptop. Plenty of (fast) I/O ports to go around.

Cons: The Keyboard takes some getting used to. The case could have been built a little sturdier, but for a budget gaming laptop it is fine. No physical eject button on DVD drive. No hardware media controls

Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great machine. A huge upgrade from my core 2 duo laptop with an 8600GT video card. The price point is great for the specs that are offered, and I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance.

5 out of 5 eggsBest i've found for the money.

Pros: Keyboard, awesome speakers, pretty.

Cons: Warranty tamper sticker.... really...

Other Thoughts: Its a great lapper. Best speakers I've ever heard in a laptop. Super fast, plays every game I've put on it with no issues. I really like the keyboard as well, but maybe I just got lucky. The touchpad is super sensitive, but there is a button to turn it off right next to it. It seems a little less massive than the ASUS models as well, with the better gpu.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I needed!

Pros: Very happy with the Laptop! Took the two Raided disks (RAID-0 factory shipped for performance) and put them into a RAID-1 (mirror for redundancy) so that I I don't have to worry about loosing data if a drive goes bad. Very fast laptop that runs everything I have thrown at it with no problems.

Cons: None come to mind...people talk about keyboard issues, but I really like the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: It is a monster...really a desktop replacement for gaming and not a system I would use to sit on the couch and surf the web. Just my preference though...

4 out of 5 eggsGreat all around laptop with minor imperfections.

Pros: Extremely fast. Matte screen! Feels just as snappy as my aged i7 920@3.8ghz and the 570m can hold its own in games. Temps were excellent! Much better than I expected. Max Temp in Starcraft II: CPU- 67C and GPU-71C. The sounds are the best I have heard from a laptop. Has a built in subwoofer which I thought was hilarious but really cool feature even if its barely audible and the DynaAudio speakers sounded great.

Cons: The keyboard is not responsive or at least through my experience so far. The same issue with the touchpad. (Not a major problem with the touchpad since I don't plan on using it.) Both requires more force than I'm used to.

My came with two stuck pixels. For this price, you kind of expect perfection... Guess I'll have to live with it.

Other Thoughts: The delivered box looked like it went through hell. Might be the reason for the stuck pixels.

5 out of 5 eggsMSI

Pros: Beautiful comp, great speed and graphics. Really is not as bad to carry around and hold as some people have made it out to be, and the keyboard really is not that bad. Yes it does take some getting used to. Although once I got used to it, it had been easier and slightly faster to type with then my desktop. All around a great comp and worth every penny! BTW sound is wicked even without a subwoofer!

Cons: None that I have had so far and none that I could foresee.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: This laptop is a beast, it chews up Skyrim and spits out what looks like a high production movie. This thing just doesn't lag and the frame rate at max settings is still in the 60's(software limited I think). This thing is very quiet running games, the only way to get it to really ramp up is to run Furmark burnin mode for 10min strait and even then the GPU temps level out at 77c in a 22c room.

Cons: Like others, I am not a fan of the capacitive keys that provide no feedback to show if the button was triggered or not. I also am a bit annoyed at the lack of a caps lock notification led. A personal preference would be to have dedicated volume buttons instead of using FN left and right arrows. The MSI software is very stark with zero options for customization for the soft keys and every one is a running application that fills a slot in the running tasks that show up when you Alt-Tab, this is less than desirable.

Other Thoughts: The MSI software could use some help, add a button feedback tone at least, let me know it did something. Give me some options to remap the keys. Give me the option to make the track pad turned off by default when a mouse is plugged in like my old Dell 9300 did.

This thing is huge, it does not fit in my osprey backpack that claims to fit a 17.3" laptop when my old Dell 9300 fit just fine. I am talking 1.5" deeper and 3" wider.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop

Pros: Great speakers, very fast. Handled every game i have thrown at it including Battlefield 3

Cons: Keyboard does take some getting used to. You do have to hit the keys just right. But this isn't enough to drop my rating of the laptop. I have already adjusted my typing to match the keyboard.

Other Thoughts: I waited for awhile before finally buying this laptop. Was hoping that more people would buy it and review it first. I am glad that i did buy it though. This laptop has handled every game i have thrown at it.

5 out of 5 eggsAWESOME!

Pros: Specs for the price -- You can't beat it!

Many peopel are complaining about the keyboard, or the CD drive eject button, or other items. I have not had one issue with this laptop. It's so cool! Not once has the CD-eject button let me down. No keyboard typing issues at all!!! Sure the keyboard lighting isn't PERECT, but its still realliy nice!

Speakers are SWEET. Matte screen is much nicer than the ASUS glossy screen.

Cons: My only issue is that the windows key is only on the right side of the space bar. Not a deal breaker. I am learning to adapt much better than i expected.

Other Thoughts: I had trouble deciding between the ASUS and the MSI. There's no question now that I've seen the MSI up close. Very, very happy.
