Does this laptop have a secondary HDD slot? If so does it need a proprietary cage or anything like that?

Mine has a secondary HDD slot, I put a 240gb SSD in it. Sped it up quite a bit.

My son plays games like battlefield 4 - it was mentioned in the reviews that the graphics card is great but the CPU AMD A10 tends to slow the system down "only on processor intensive games that handle poorly optimized systems".

Should I get this laptop or purchase a laptop with intel i7 and GTX ? Video card?

I ask myself that same question. I think if I had it to do over again I would get an i7 with the GTX 770. Mantle for AMD parts is coming and should help this laptop's performance a bit, but it's a ways off yet.

Mantle is implemented already in Battlefield 4 we're just waiting for AMD to release drivers that work with this notebook.

The thing that drove my decision to buy this laptop was price. It really is unbeatable in the cost/performance category. I think with some time it will overcome the limitation of it's somewhat slow CPU.

Looking at other vendor websites I see a secondary HDD slot option and reviews from others show a second slot. I am also seeing HDD caddy's which allow a SATA drive to be installed using the optical drive slot.

I would like to know if this laptop is capable of a 3x internal SATA drive combination.
