5 out of 5 eggsWorth it

Pros: Decided to buy this instead of building a new desktop, and I couldn't be happier with the decision so far.
* The two Mini Displayports(the description says one Displayport, but this is incorrect) mean I can drive my 2560x1440 external monitor.
* I like the LED backlighting on the keyboard more than I thought I would. It is easy to change the color of the three sections.
* Audio is nice, good speaker.
* The high DPI is such a luxury. That resolution is what convinced me to buy, and I am so pleased with it. I was worried that even the 780M wouldn't be able to drive my games smoothly at that resolution, but it tackles it at high FPS no problem. At this DPI, you can turn some of the more intensive features like anti-aliasing down to lowish settings without losing any appreciable image quality.
* Keyboard feels nice.
* The TB drive + SSD combo makes it very flexible. SSD is quite fast.
* Chassis is solid and looks good.
* I have not used the Bluray drive yet, but it's nice to have one.

Cons: There are not many, but
* Price. This would be an even better laptop if it had cost a couple hundred less.
* Bulkier than I'd like, but it's not a big deal. Still very portable and comfortable to set on lap.
* I don't like the touchpad. This doesn't matter in gaming, but if you do intend to use this as a laptop, you may get annoyed by the stiffness of the click-bar buttons. Touchpad is also slightly offset to the left, which is awkward.
* Wish the SSD was bigger. I install lots of heavy games on the SSD, so I'd gladly trade some of that giant TB drive for a bigger SSD, but if I decide to I can do this myself.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat capabilities.

Pros: - Very fast boot up thanks to the 128 SSD
- Graphics card handles everything I throw at.
- 3K resolution brings incredible detail to every picture and game.
- Solid keyboard, and the numerous backlight settings and options are a nice feature.
- Easily accessible access to MSI specific programs thanks to the touch buttons up top near the screen.
- Fan boost touch button, although being fairly loud when you turn it on, does an amazing job of cooling the GPU and CPU down during longer gaming sessions.

Cons: - Windows 8. I've never been much of a fan. It's definitely not as user friendly as Windows 7 and takes some getting used to, but overall, this is just a personal preference so I won't take an egg off for that
- A little thicker than I was anticipating
- Have had some issues with the computer randomly restarting on me a few times with no warning whatsoever. While it has been very frustrating once or twice, this may just be an issue with my specific laptop, so still won't take an egg off for overall performance.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I could not be happier with this laptop. It has done everything I hoped it would be able to, and then some. For an example, I've run Fallout: New Vegas on High settings at 2880x1620 resolution with no frame skip or lag. If you're looking for a new fast computer with very strong capabilities, especially if you're a gamer, and have a budget limit near what this computer costs, this is the computer you want. I spent a month searching for the best laptop for the money, and this is by far the best value for capability. This was money well spent.
