7200. It has a port for a mini ssd, but opening the laptop requires you to break the warranty seal. Still, the option is a viable solution if you're worried about speed.

Is the fan loud? Does the laptop get hot after extended use?

Yes the fan is louder than I expected when there was no other noises in the room but not that distracting. The laptop keyboard remains cool to the touch. I have had laptops in the past get warm to the touch through the keyboard. I do not know if the bottom gets warm since I have never checked.

Basically, no.  Windows 8 has the MS Office app, but when you click on it, it gives you a menu to either Buy, Enter an activation number if you already bought it, or Activate a 365 day Trial.

Hi, i was just reading and i noticed somebody said there's a slot for SDD.  Is that an individual slot so that i may run The 1TB HDD and a separate SDD?

Yes but keep in mind if you install the SSD you void the warranty, MSI wants qualified techs doing the installation. I run mine with the EVO 250 gig SSD as the OS drive and the 1 TB as my storage drive. I am old timer and have been a computer tech since 1981 . And yes there is only 1 SSD slot on the unit. You will also need to create a restore disk unless you use the Evo data transfer to move the OS off the 1 TB DRIVE. I prefer fresh install and use Windows 7 Ultimate, not a big fan of windows 8. Hope this helps.

Yes this very well would run GTA5. The GF uses it to play many other super high resolution games. The AC band  wifi chip set will ensure no lag with a compatible router and connection.

It comes with 8G of RAM. is it expandable?

It comes with 8 gb of RAM yes. There has been some arguments as to whether or not expanding to sixteen voids warranty, but I've heard that it only voids the warranty if you mess things up yourself. I would definitely call MSI customer support if interested as you can also manually install a SSD as well.

I recently bought this laptop and whenever I run Diablo 3, the fan starts to heat up like crazy. I was wondering was this laptop suppose to heat up if I run games like Diablo?

I play Final Fantasy 14, and noticed the speed of the fan would increase while I played it, the longer I played it. The software that monitors the temp and fan never showed dangerous heat, and I haven't experienced a heat related crash. This is without using the fan booster button on the laptop itself. If you're worried you may try that, though it is even noisier lol
