1 out of 5 eggsNo more HP products

Pros: Nice laptop at purchase, worked as intended.

Cons: continuous deterioration of system speed, system cooling over time. It began with overheating, then crashing and eventually the RAM fried. The case has little or no ventilation, and the battery power only lasts 20 minutes after 3 years of consistent use. This product only has a life cycle of about 2-2.5 years. Another example of a HP product that costs $1000 at purchase designed to fail after extended use. I have a laptop from 2002 that is still using its original RAM.

4 out of 5 eggsDespite what I'd read..

Pros: I purchased this laptop despite what I had read about it being like some of the other DV series notebooks that overheat easily and burn out quickly. I've been very happy with this purchase overall. Not using it for heavy gaming by any stretch, but it performs very well for a wide variety of things.

Cons: As some others have said, the vertical row of keys on the left side is an annoyance.

3 out of 5 eggsdon't be fooled

Pros: - nice led display
- finger print analyze and toggle for touch pad
- runs left 4 dead 2 and team fortress 2 very nicely on high graphics (60-120 fps)
- supports my external moniter well

- the left side of the keyboard
- the left side of the keyboard
- the left side of the keyboard
- sometimes the computer gives me a black screen when i start up the computer so i have to manually restart the laptop by pressing the power button
- sometimes the computer doesnt turn on when i press the power button
- the left side of the keyboard
- low resolution for screen size (i see others with 1920x1080 for around the same price)

Other Thoughts: - there are other laptops that are better than this one.
- the i7 processor and gfx card is nice but there are other computers with better processors and gfx cards with better resolution
- heats up a lot but i got a zalman cooler so the laptop is okay for now
- seriously the left side of the keyboard
- i'm satisfied with the computer but the left side of the keyboard
- my wrist hurts because of the height of the laptop but i think thats my own problem to deal with so not really a con

- HP needs to fix this laptop's keyboard layout, i dont need a hotkey for mail and calculators or anything.
- more resolution would be really nice
- if ur looking to buy a computer, don't be fooled by high processors and good graphics cards. those are important but shouldnt be major factors. technology is always changing and being outdated. make sure you buy a laptop that you are going to be comfortable with. i should have personally gotten a laptop with more resolution and a bett

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome value

Pros: The value in this is incredible: a quad-core processor that changes clock speeds depending on load, a huge amount of RAM, and a large, quick hard drive make for really fast startup and loading times.

This laptop's a beast with every game I've thrown at it. I admit I haven't tried a lot of "brand-new" games like BC2 or Black Ops, but I guarantee you can run anything more than a few months old on max settings on this. Source games, Crysis, and ME2 are all smooth.

4 USB ports and HDMI are great. Fan noise and case heat are very sensible and it cools and quiets down very quickly after exiting a game or other high load app. It can play HD video without needing to spin up, which is great for movies.

Cons: The trackpad isn't the best and it takes a while to get used to the click buttons being underneath the tracking surface. I just switched "tap-to-click" on in my trackpad settings so this is a non-issue now.

There's a lot of bloatware and no recovery or driver DVDs are included. I did a full reinstall with my own Win7 Ultimate and spent the next few hours searching for wireless card and sound drivers because nobody included a precise hardware list and it was impossible to find one online for this pre-built rig.

The keyboard feels great, but the offset due to the shortcut keys on the left side is jarring at first. When reaching for the Function keys in games, I'd accidentally hit the next highest key. Putting the "open Email" shortcut key right next to escape and tab is pretty cruel - I've had it minimize a raging battle more than once before I got used to the placement.

The resolution is a bit low for a 15.6 screen. I would've liked to see 1440 at least.

Other Thoughts: The pros heavily outweigh the cons. Having this much power for this low of a price is easily worth the cost of a few very minor design annoyances.

3 out of 5 eggsNot a gaming machine

Pros: It has a 6gbs of ram which is nice for business applications and programs and casual games.
It has a fast processor for the price.
It has an ok graphics card not for gaming.
Great sound quality.
Decent price for its spec although I got it at 899.99

Cons: It is for casual gaming like css, bf2, mw2 on low to med settings but it will not play 3rd generation gaming like bad company 2 or black ops on low settings. However it can play sc2 on lowest settings without lagging.
Keyboard is hard to get used to and still is annoying, it's also not illuminated.....
the buttons on the side of the tab button are very annoying to get used to as well.

Other Thoughts: All in all if you're interested in the 6gbs of ram and the fast processor for work it may not be worth the price, keep searching this website for a different brand or possibly getting a laptop with less ram and paying for more.

5 out of 5 eggsTop of the Line

Pros: Okay I made a review of this a little earlier, and I take everything back about its cons. The trackpad does take a little bit of time to get used to, but once you do it has to be the best mouse that I have ever used. I bought another mouse to go along with it but forgot it one day so I had to use the track pad, and once I got used to it there was no going back. It opens everything really quickly and there is no lag on this computer (unless you max out AA in some super graphic intense games) The fan did have the on and off problem but it went away by itself. I think that because the fan intake is on the bottom you really have to keep it clear, or put something hard under it like a book so that you can keep a steady stream of air. My old touch-smart had the intake vent on the side so it took a while to figure out. The high pitched hum iI talked about before also doesn't occur anymore. This laptop is one of the best that you can buy, and I recommend it to anyone. I am extremely satisfied.

Cons: The only bad thing I had was the shipping was delayed one day because of "unpredictable weather". The weather was fine, but the laptop has no cons that I can see.

Other Thoughts: There are always people that say that it was not functional and dead out of the box, but for the most part it isn't true. There are some people that do have problems, but I honestly don't think you will have problems with this computer.

1 out of 5 eggsNothing But Trouble

Pros: None.

Cons: I managed to get this disaster of a machine to boot just long enough to transfer all of my files, after which the screen went black (can't use it without an external monitor). That was Friday afternoon. It's now Sunday, and the machine won't even boot.

Other Thoughts: I've done some searching online, and the issue sounds *very* similar to the much-hated DV-6000 laptop from a while back. I'll be calling HP support tomorrow, but strongly recommend against buying this machine.

5 out of 5 eggsHP Pavilion DV6-3052NR

Pros: I looked at this laptop along with the Asus G series and the Envy series laptops, and in the end decided to buy this one. It has a lightning fast processor, a lot of ram, great graphics card, and nice display. The price is also really great. I looked up so many reviews, and was pretty confident when buying this laptop. It can easy play Supreme Commander Forged Alliance (A very demanding game, even more than Crisis). This machine really is a powerhouse.

Cons: The touch pad is a little awkward. Since I have taken it out of the box it has worked fine. I am a little concerned with the fan though. When the laptop is idle or doing very small tasks (browsing the web), the fan pulsates, from off to blowing a noticeable amount of air out. It gets annoying after a while. I dont know how to fix it or if i got a defective computer. I updated the BIOS without any luck. If anybody has any information about if theirs does this, or how to fix it please post another review on how to fix it or if its normal.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy it

Pros: Fantastic computer. It can run WoW and Left 4 Dead 2 at max settings and maintain over 50 fps. These are the only games I've tried, but I assume the same goes for many others.

Cons: It gets hot as heck when doing anything strenuous. You will definitely need a cooling pad.

Other Thoughts: I'm kind of annoyed the price dropped 100 bucks after I bought it, but that just makes this computer an even better deal for you.
