2 out of 5 eggsnice timing HP!

Pros: very fast and quiet
HD input, even streaming video looks great

Cons: HARD DRIVE FAILED

Other Thoughts: the hard drive failed literally to the day the warranty expired. HP says TOO BAD.
i give it two stars since it might've been great had HP given me a break. i mean, seriously, exactly a year. this thing should last 3 years at least.

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied

Pros: Solid laptop, great price (on sale for 524.99), light, overall does the job.

Cons: Battery life is only about 2 hrs, suggest a cooling pad.

4 out of 5 eggsBest Buy!

Pros: Hard drive speed at 7200 vs most on the market at 5400, Cpu speed more then enough to handle anything from lite to med. video editing and gaming, Gpu way better then anything Intel haves . Quick Web by selecting f6 when laptop is off you connect to the web in less then 10sec.

Cons: The face Reconation is cool but takes longer for Windows to load. and since its a Buisness type of laptop it s got alot of Hp secuirty. Hard drive is 320 but windows 7 and all the other stuff hp is got loaded you end up with about 250 after updates.

Other Thoughts: Performance wise it beats anything in its price range anything better then this will run you up above 600$

5 out of 5 eggsH*ly speedy delivery, Batman!

Pros: Initial impression- will edit later with more details: Wow, 29 hour delivery time!!! Ordered yesterday at 11am, received today at 3:45pm. Super impressed with ordering, processing and delivery.
Looks good, no initial problems.

Cons: Um, HP software setup is tedious and the HP software setup graphics seem to bog the machine down! Other bloatware like McAfee. Not tech-savy enough to remove these items comfortably, so any tips on this are welcome.

Other Thoughts: Mouse pad is shifted to the left, to be centered with the keyboard, which will take some getting used to as a righty. Quality of pad does not inspire confidence- it doesn't seem installed securely.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop for the $$$$

Pros: No problems with this unit at all. Hooked this to a 32" LCD TV via HDMI port and am using a Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard. CoreDuo processor, Windows 7 Pro for $525 delivered is a deal ya can't pass up. Connects without a hitch to the wirelss printer in the closet. This is a desktop replacement, all wireless peripherals make this a slick way to go. And bluetooth connection with the iPhone, what more could ya ask?

Cons: The only thing I can say negative is "HP junkware" that is pre installed. After an hour or so that it took to get rid of all that, I am happy.

5 out of 5 eggsGlad I bought it

Pros: Runs well, quiet, not too hot, good battery life. Also, quite pretty. Very clean design all around. Love having Bluetooth. Can run Photoshop and Illustrator CS4 no problem.

Cons: Trackpad could be a lot better. Phantom clicks, integrated buttons, and perhaps most annoyingly is WAY off to the left. Whatever, I bought a wireless mouse anyway. I like scroll wheels and middle-clicking too much.

Other Thoughts: Comes with a lot of HP foistware, so be prepared to do a lot of uninstalling. Still, would definitely buy again. Get it while you can, HP's not making this model anymore, and it's a fantastic value.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Laptop

Pros: Very Solid, Quite Fast, handles Sims, Medevil, and Starcraft all quite well, no lag at all. Screen looks real slick. haven't really left it unplugged, so i cant tell you about the battery life.

Cons: Its a dark color so it gathers dust quite noticeably.. haha thats all i have for cons.

Other Thoughts: I've only had this laptop for a couple months and it seems very solid, very fast, and I enjoy it. The mousepad, some people might say is annoying, but once you get used to it, its really quite convenient and easy to use.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop for an even greater price

Pros: I bought the laptop for my wife, which means that it will mainly be used for watching movies, the internet, and photos. Hard drive is more than sufficient, especially for this price. Plenty of memory and a processor that gets great reviews and is often classed with quad-core processors or higher. Shared video memory is not ideal, but in this case, not a problem.

Cons: Most reviews complain about the mouse buttons being integrated in to the touch pad. In other words, when you are pressing the buttons on the mouse, you are also touching the pad and moving the arrow. Although this could be annoying and most reviewers had problems with it, if you just don't press the buttons while moving the cursor around, you can avoid any problems. With practice (about 10 minutes worth) it is actually not even noticeable.

Other Thoughts: Compared to other laptops in this price range, this HP is by far the best choice. We use HP at work quite a bit and this laptop is even better than the expensive ones we buy at work. I also have to comment on the ease of use when setting up the laptop. It took less than a half an hour to get completely set up and has some new HP Help-Point software stuff that makes using things like an extended monitor easy. It has built in data shredding software as well as a few other cool little features to help secure the computer and your data.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good machine

Pros: So far so good. I uninstalled most of the preinstalled software on it; though, it doesn't have as much on it as some I've seen. All in all, it is definitely faster than my last laptop (AMD Turion 64 x2 processor) and everything seems to be running smooth. The processor is definitely fast enough for most people and the battery life is decent. The anti-glare screen is wonderful and was a big selling point for me, my old machine had awful glare. It sort of feels like a matte screen, but it doesn't as well, weird. I have had no issues with this laptop so far and have been enjoying not having air vents on the bottom of the machine, other manufacturers please take note, vents on the bottom = not a good idea. The heat from the laptop is well controlled, I have yet to have it get even so much as warm on my lap, the side vent seems to handle everything very well and nothing else even gets warm, not even while playing flash video on Hulu for a couple of hours.

Cons: Now the bad, for the price you have to expect some sacrifices. The aluminum finish does show some fingerprint smudges (but nowhere near as bad as glossy plastic so not too much of a con). The screen is not the greatest for color accuracy and the angle definitely affects color, so serious photo editors need to look elsewhere if that is a factor. The wireless card, while not having dropped a connection on me (can't say the same for my last laptop wireless card), is not capable of even doing 150Mbps wireless n connection. It will only do approximately 72Mbps wireless n per the HP forums. While this is only slightly faster than wireless g, it does somewhat explain part of the price of the machine. It doesn't really bother me that much as wireless g was plenty fast enough for my uses, but others may care. To get faster wireless speeds you will either have to replace the card or get an external card to connect to USB or the ExpressCard slot.

Other Thoughts: Again, having only had the machine for about a week, I have yet to really put in under a great deal of stress; however, I have enjoyed my time using it and have started to adjust to the keyboard of the machine (chiclet keyboards are a bit of an adjustment). The machine feels decently solid, build wise. I would definitely recommend this machine to people who are looking for a good machine with some frills, but not for power users (these people tend to spend upwards of $1000 on laptops anyway). Overall I am very pleased with my purchase as it is what I was looking for in almost every way. I figure I should get a good 4 years out of it easy.
