2 out of 5 eggsDied after 26 months!

Pros: Fast, responsive, lots of USB, HDMI, etc.

Cons: Battery 90 minutes, when new.
It's friggin' dead!
Surfin' the Internet (on battery), and it just went dead. Motherboard is toast, and conveniently, the processor is embedded (soldered in).

Other Thoughts: My last HP laptop lasted for 10 years (2000-2010), before I gave up replacing the IDE laptop drive. My older HP desktop is still running for gosh sake (2000-2013), with a Celeron 700Mhz processor and 384MB of RAM.

I gave HP one last chance because they replaced my mother-in-laws laptop (that died), even though it was out of warranty (after explaining she had cancer).
...and now I pay $500 for a product that lasts just over 2 years!
...after just last week replacing the motherboard in my newer HP desktop.

Forget it!! HP has changed, and is all about the lowest quality junk they can market to us foolish consumers. You have fooled me for the very last time!

5 out of 5 eggsGood for the Price

Pros: Good Price. Does well with CAD and Photoshop 5 eggs based on pure value. Its really a bargain. Works great with MS OFFICE as well. Looks good too!

Cons: Would not recommend for gaming. Needs more memory.

Other Thoughts: I added 2GB more ram to get things up to speed and switched out the hard drive for a 1TB. BE CAREFUL when taking apart. There are Three screws under the Battery and two hidden screws under stickers by the hinges. Take those out and its easy from there the speaker cover lifts right off... the keyboard a couple screws and slide it back... the palmrest three screws and slide it right to get to the hard drive. really simple.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for the price

Pros: Sleek design, crisp display, good equipment for the price

Cons: Like everyone else, the touch-pad is a pain

Other Thoughts: I used this laptop at my current job as a temporary workstation until my office PC was operational. I had an HP laptop from about 6 years ago and it finally croaked, but it was always dependable. I'll be using this as my primary PC, and from the looks of it, it will last just as long.

4 out of 5 eggsWARNING!

Pros: Great bang for your buck

Cons: Check the other thoughts

Other Thoughts: THIS IS NOT PINK! The pictures clearly showcase a pink laptop but thats far from the truth. The color is a deep brown. Sorta like if you mix burgundy with a dark brown. You get a brown that FAINTLY resembles burgundy.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat laptop

Pros: High processor speed and hard drive speed, Windows 7 Professional, Solid feel, the keyboard and touchpad resemble MAC's laptops.

Cons: It came with 2GB of RAM only, which is fine out of the box, but I'm planning on upgrading mine to 4GB.

Other Thoughts: I love the keyboard and touchpad, as I said they've copied how they're on MAC's laptops and if you've ever used MAC laptop, you're gonna love it. I know some people said it's different and what not, but that's probably because they've never used MAC.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Notebook I have ever owned

Pros: This is the best notebook I have ever owned. Boot up is fast. Very easy to get through set up screens. Deleted trial software. Easy to set up Win XP VM, just check the box in BIOS and reboot.

Cons: Love the new computer. No cons.

Other Thoughts: The new i3 Intel processor is well worth the price of admission.

2 out of 5 eggsThe Terrible Touchpad

Pros: Everything is good except for the touch pad.

Cons: This is my second review. I am usually not so down on the weakness of one feature, but I decided to drop the rating two more egg because of the terrible touch pad. I tried to make it more useful be reversing the click buttons. It is a little better because I do not have to stretch my fingers so far to make a left click. And the click buttons are stiff and have almost no feel to them. I visited a local store yesterday and played with the touch pads on every lap top that they had in stock. No touch pad was even close to being as bad as this one. I have buyers remorse over this purchase.

Other Thoughts: You cannot call this computer a lap top. It must be placed on a desktop with the touch pad in full view in order to make the correct mouse clicks. I will have to use a mouse because I can not get use to this touch pad. HP should fire the people responsible for this truly terrible design. HP should retrofit these computers with a better design.

4 out of 5 eggsTouchpad?

Pros: Fast, good 2D graphics, fair 3D, numeric keypad, OK battery life, good audio for a laptop, not too much bloat ware, matte finish, bright screen, great for under $500. Compared to my older HP laptop, typing is much, much easier.

Cons: So far, I hate the navigation pad. It is hard to use. I am always right clicking instead of left clicking. I will either get use to it or use a mouse.
No door on the bottom to access memory. I bought an extra 1GB of RAM for mine. and found that you have to remove the keyboard to install the extra memory. This operation is not for the faint of heart. There are five tiny screws and reassembly is difficult. This is not a friendly upgrade computer.

Other Thoughts: The extra 1GB of RAM does improve performance. For the Windows experience index, desktop graphics improved from 4.1 to 4.4. Passmark performance rating was 836 which is very good for a lap top computer. However, the video hardware does not support the 3D DirectX 10 test,

5 out of 5 eggsBEST BUY

Pros: ANTI GLOSS SCREEN, CONSTRUCTION. COMES WITH WINDOWS PROFESSIONAL 7 (32 BIT), CALL HP 1800 NUMBER AND THEY WILL SEND YOU A (32 BIT AND 64 BIT BACK UP CD). FASTEST I3 PROCESSOR. I CAN GO ON AND ON AND ON.......

Cons: HP BLOATWARE, TOOK ME ABOUT AN 3 HOURS TO CAREFULLY GET IT ALL OFF

Other Thoughts: BUY 2 GIGS OF MEMORY WHEN YOU PURCHASE THIS COMPUTER. I GOT IT FOR $474 + $24 CRUCIAL 2 GIG MEMORY = $500
