3 out of 5 eggsGives new meaning to refurbished.

Pros: - Solid hardware, if not abused by the previous owner.
- A real keyboard, none of these new-fangled keyboards with their non-standard
placement of keys.
- Price.

Cons: - NOT refurbished, just re-packaged as-is.
- Condition is all over the place with one being almost pristine to one beat
up pretty bad.
- One of them was pretty beat up, got it replaced quickly via the RMA, so it's
ok.
- One of them has a bad left mouse button.
- 160GB HDD is pretty small.

Other Thoughts: - Most don't have web-cams, although it is not stated, so ...

1 out of 5 eggsWorst experience ever with any refurb electronics

Pros: Non whatsoever

Cons: Everything.
No webcam but not stated clearly in spec.
Really noisy fan. Worst cooling performance.
Keyboard broken in 4 month, out of luck 'coz limited warranty.
Condition as bad as this shouldn't be called a 'refurb'.

Other Thoughts: for the love of all the above and your own sake, don't buy these! ever!

5 out of 5 eggsCouldn't be happier

Pros: Very clean and solid feeling ... could almost pass for new.
250GB drive instead of 160GB.
Customer support (both Newegg and refurbisher) was great in getting me the installation disk I needed to install SSDD.

Cons: I was hoping it would have a camera ... it did not.
Did not include installation disk.

4 out of 5 eggsI must be one of the Lucky ones

Pros: Great price for an i5 processor laptop. Mine came in looking almost new. The battery seems to hold a charge. Everything seems to work properly. Screen is sharp although next to my 15" laptop it looks tiny. It's a pretty darn good deal if you get one of the good ones. It came with Win7 Pro x32 installed on it. It has 4 USB ports, an eSATA port and a firewire port.

Cons: One thing didn't work as delivered and that was the SD Card reader. I'm not sure if it is really broken or just improperly configured. For my purposes the SD slot doesn't matter although once our corporate Win7 Enterprise x64 is installed I'll know more.

The hard drive is fairly small (160 GB) and the RAM is only adequate (4GB). There are no USB 3 ports or HDMI port.

Other Thoughts: This is a pretty darn good deal for a pretty good laptop at $278 shipped. While it is a i5 processor, it's only a Gen1 Arrandale i5-520M. Still pretty powerful for the money though.

4 out of 5 eggsBought 5 - 1 Was Bad

Pros: Bought 5 laptops to resell. 4 of them were great and customers are happy with them.

Cons: The laptop that was bad had a bad hard drive and was also overheating quite a bit. It made the laptop extremely slow so I'm going to need to send this one back.

Other Thoughts: Great laptops for the price. Pretty speedy with the i5 processor. Overall I'm happy with them!

4 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Machine

Pros: This machine is a workhorse. I didn't buy it with hopes to do gaming or graphic design, but to be able to write papers and browse the Internet. This machine does that beautifully. It's very functional and practical. The battery life on mine is about two to two and half hours which is incredible for a refurbished machine.

Cons: Some people who are looking for a very portable laptop would not like this that much because it's heavier than newer ultrabook models, but it is also not terribly heavy. My biggest gripe is that I had to go out and buy a mouse because the touch pad was flaky and would occasionally stop working.

Other Thoughts: If you're just looking for a cheap computer but you want to be able to do all the things you might do with something more expensive, this may not be what you're looking for. This is a computer business professionals often use as their mobile work station computer. It is not meant to be a gaming computer and probably can't handle more than flash-based games.

4 out of 5 eggsNo issues

Pros: No scratches, no bad pixels, no issues like others are reporting. Came as described.

Cons: Agree with the other user, that the only con I have is no reinstall media. However, since this is for my mother, not really needd.

3 out of 5 eggsAttitude about a used Dell Latitude E6410

Pros: Its a Dell Latitude: rock-solid build, very serviceable. My particular unit came with a 250 GB drive, Win 7 Pro pre-loaded and a healthy 9-cell battery. No scratches on the screen. Everything works. I count myself lucky.

Cons: These are not really refurbished units; they're heavily used lease returns with wiped hard drives, and minimal cleaning. The keyboard wear is substantial, the rubber pads under the unit are gone, there's a cheap plastic skin on the cover that is misaligned. The cover latch is broken. If you don't mind all those cosmetic issues, its a solid, functional unit.

Other Thoughts: After downloading up-to-date drivers from the Dell website (done this plenty of times for our office machines), all is well. I contacted the company that refurbished the unit to relay the small issues (missing rubber pads, broken latch) and they quickly offered to RMA an exchange unit at their expense. After researching reviews of similar units on Newegg, I decided against it. Others have pointed out that better deals can be had on -bay, and even there Newegg is selling these units! If your keyboard is shot, just pick up a new or nearly new replacement on -bay for ~$15. You can swap one out in < 30 seconds. If you get one of these on Newegg for <$290, its a good deal.
