Excellent Product for a Gamer with a budget
- Pros: Excellent Specs for the price(they have the specs of a product price at 1200-1500)
Small, light. Can run robust applications with ease, and outperforms another laptop I own(New HP DV9000~, paid 1400 for that).
Gaming? No problem! This little laptop is not only "Made of Win, and runs on Awesome" but it packs 4 gigs of ram, and a C2D processor. Games I've tried: Age Of Conan: Hyborian Adventures (30-35 FPS During Sieges) Team Fortress 2 (30-40 FPS while in action) Bioshock (25-45 fps, variates depending the environment)
All in all, this laptop rocks, and should be tagged up for another 400 bucks >:P
- Cons: Here is the bad part, which is not much:
Power management in this laptop is lacking, battery life while under load was of about hour and a half.
That and I had a minor problem with an odd shutdown(my fault) that ended on the computer not turning on(I got scared for a minute here) But then I took out the battery, disconected power, put the battery in again, and it restarted, had to power the wireless card back up, and it was all done.
Other than that, I guess I can complain about the touchpad, its kind of in the way of things, but you can disable it with the Function Key+F3.
And my last complaint: Speakers are kind of weak, so if you wanna have a good sound, buy speakers.
- Other Thoughts: If you buy this laptop:
I suggest you buy a cooling pad if you are a gamer(buy a metal cooling pad, not one of those plastic garbage). And buy a Mouse, that touchpad is kind of in the middle of the lappy.
Also: Tried uploading a video, but it kept failing, so I leave you the link: http://files.filefront.com/primalvsphoenixWMV/;11992329;/fileinfo.html That video was shot in Tyranny, come play! :D
Great laptop
- Pros: Very impressive for the price. Not packed with A ton of spam.Streamline no frills controls.I am buying another.
- Cons: Placement of speaker jacks right in front
Best bang for the buck
- Pros: Very attractive. Lightweight. Quiet. Runs World of Warcraft at maximum settings with 48 frames per second. Smoothe, bright, & beautiful graphics.
- Cons: Becomes very warm to the touch after a couple hours of gaming. The touch pad does interfear with typing but it is easily disabled via Fn + F3. Some of the buttons are smaller and take some getting used to, but this is to make room for the numberpad- an essential tool which most laptops do not have.
- Other Thoughts: I do not see much of a reason to own a traditional desktop PC anymore. If you can get this much laptop at this low of a price, they're pretty much obsolete. Thank you, Newegg.
