1 out of 5 eggsBad Screen

Pros: Computer works like a charm.

Cons: LCD died after only 7 months service. Top left quadrant of the screen filled with multicolored vertical lines and a big "ink" spot. Computer works well with extermal monitor. Toshiba wanted $500 to replace screen. ServiceNet came through with a check for the cost of the PC.

3 out of 5 eggsok

Pros: Light, Thin, Screen Quality, Price, Battery Life.

Cons: Weak processor, cheap look and feel, price.

Other Thoughts: I bought one of these at another retailer for 30% less at a major tech retailer (name with-held think blue and yellow), however for the price i paid i cannot complain the wife loves. It is built for exactly what she does, surf the web and check email. This if for the most part a 15.6" netbook, it is still a good computer for her. But if you need to do any gaming, multitasking or run a VM look elswhere.

4 out of 5 eggsNot too shabby

Pros: -3 GB RAM
-Screen is nice
-Onboard video isn't terrible (basic gaming)
-Keys is nice and easy to type on (not the font they used to label the keys though, BLEH /typography geek)
-Price

Cons: -Bloatware (easily removable)
-Single Core Processor (Worth removing an egg, honestly.)
I knew it came with one but I feel it is worth removing an egg for. If this doesn't matter to you, consider it 5 eggs.
-Gawdly awful key labels

Other Thoughts: I would love to just buy a new processor but I'm unsure exactly what socket the AMD V Series is? I'm also guessing I'd have to send it in to Toshiba in order to have them install it without voiding the warranty. (If they'd even do that...)
Can upgrade the RAM if needed.
Does what the person I purchased it for needs it to do.
Runs the Sims 3 at medium quality at full res of the screen at 1366x768.

The packaging was, a little less than sufficient IMO. A few sides weren't covered by bubble wrap. Not a big deal, I can just be picky. :P

If you need a simple computer that isn't at too bad of a price, get this one.

I will live another day to find that Toshiba is a company that can be trusted, as far as I know...

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This laptop is amazing for the price its being sold it I got it for 350 and at that price it was a steal. It has the radeon hd 4250 graphics card in it so it can be used for gaming not hardcore but it will run most games on medium settings with minimal lag. Can't go wrong with a 320 GB harddrive the more space you have the better performance you get plus you get more storage

Cons: there is only three things i dislike about this laptop that aside i would still recommend it to anyone on a budget.

1: Battery Life-All laptops have cbad battery life if you use the one they give you and i still use the one they give me it can be pushed to last the three hours but if you're doing demanding things don't expect this thing to keep going and going and going because it wont.

The keyboard- The keys are flat and large it took me some time to get used to it since this is my first laptop ever I've alwasy been used to somewhat elevated keys though i have a hard time locating the right ones with this laptop even after using it everyday since i got it.

and the third flaw the biggest one- DO NOT BUY IF <<<IF you plan on using this for multi-tasking the 3GBs of ram do help when minimizing windows from a video game to check your fB but if you have a bunch of things going for you when you're online please move on to a computer with a dual-core or quad-core

Other Thoughts: This laptop is great if you don't multi-task (downloading music, watching tube vids, playing video games, all at the same time while using fraps. that single core is the one thing that kills it performance wise get a dual or quad and this laptop is solid gold and even the cpu is decent for what it is I love this laptop and am so happy i bought it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for a basic laptop

Pros: I had been in the market for a laptop PC of some sort for a few months. When this came on sale for $350 with shipping, I pulled the trigger and bought one. I only wanted a simple laptop (not a netbook) to surf, read email, and catch a few shows on hulu. It does that just fine. The shows on hulu stream quite well without the lag I have on my old desktop. Someone mentioned the lack of a camera and microphone was a detractor. I really don't see how since I really don't care to do any sort of online video chat. There are other options out there for a better camera option.

Cons: There is no HDMI out to plug into a TV. But for the price, I can do without. It comes with some Toshiba bloatware which can be easily removed. I've removed most of it. This unit also does not come with a recovery disc(s). There is a program on it to create some. It seems common for new computers to not have a recovery disc anymore.

4 out of 5 eggsCheap

Pros: Inexpensive, decent battery life with some tweaking, nice finish that doesn't show fingerprints

Cons: Loud fan and disc drive, horrible speakers, wireless loses signal easily, loaded with crapware, already got 2 BSOD,

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for with this laptop. It's fine for just surfing the web but don't expect to run any resource hogging software. The best thing to do is just wipe it and install a clean copy of Win 7 64 bit. Four eggs - it's exactly what I expected for the Turkey Day pricing.

1 out of 5 eggsBoat Anchor

Pros: Price was low, its a laptop that is the only pro

Cons: Cr#p cpu, windows gives it a 4.3 score. I have three year old systems that do better than that.
ati 4200 video but no hdmi.
three gigs of memory ddr3. should be four.

Other Thoughts: Look elseware...

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Price and Perfect performance

Pros: This model is smaller than an older Toshiba I own; the finish is great for reducing fingerprints. Windows 7 64 bit is super fast; the number pad on this model is a big plus for me; the sound is loud and clear. DVD viewing is spectacular. My super tech husband and son both very impressed with features. A+++

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsSatellite C655d

Pros: Good for the money, much nicer packaging then the CQ56 and CQ62 it replaces. Windows experience index of 4.1 compared to the 3.3 for both the base model CQ62 and CQ56 I have both and the screen is much more crisp and detailed compared to CQ56 which is why I am getting rid of the (cant name brand) for the Toshiba

Cons: The wireless card is not great both the CQ56 and CQ62 pick up 7 wireless networks the Toshiba only 4 and signal strength is much higher on the CQ56 and CQ62. The hard drive only shows as 287 gig not happy about that.

Other Thoughts: I have bought 3 inexpensive laptops in past 3 or 4 weeks and this is a very good deal when on sale with free shipping.
