4 out of 5 eggsNot one single issue...

Pros: Unlike other posters, I've literally NEVER had an issue with this laptop. I've had no issues with the clock keeping the correct time. In fact, this computer has been on almost 24/7 since I got it YEARS AGO, and has shown no signs of slowing down. I've been recording video using Hauppauge amd Elgato, editing using SVP & HFU, rendering, and no prpblems. It isn't the fastest laptop, but that's why it's so inexpensive!

Cons: None. As I said before, the system is cheap, and with this product, I feel like I got way more than I paid for.

Pros: fairly nice system

Cons: clock will not keep time. Not matter what I do the clock is broken.

slower than I expected

Other Thoughts: if I had to do it over, I would not buy the laptop.

1 out of 5 eggsClock wrong, Support useless

Pros: Great for business if you don't need to be ontime for anything.

Cons: Clock won't keep correct time and Toshiba wants me to pay for them to replace the defective hardware. This is after strining me along for months trying to find out how it was a problem with software I had installed which at that point was nothing other than what came preloaded.

1 out of 5 eggsToshiba customer support SUCKS

Pros: Quad core, nicely built, attractive price

Cons: Hardware issue as faced by other two users. As Greg quoted on 9/21 "can't keep time properly when turned off, in sleep, or in hibernate, so you turn the laptop on and your clock will be hours ahead of where it should be". I face the same problem. Horrible customer service. Sent in for repair first time with 18 days from purchase and they documented problem as battery not charging (duh tech support). Sent in once again on 29 Aug for repair and hasn't got it back as of 06-OCT-2011. Have been calling every three days and customer service reply is like a broken record. I was shock to hear from 855-641-6920 that we don't know the status, how LOW can customer service can go!? They are not able to find the problem for almost a month! How lame! I am losing the productivity and Toshiba CS does not care about it.
This is my first and most certainly the last Toshiba product. Please STAY AWAY from NASTY Toshiba altogether.

Other Thoughts: Other user my please be in touch with me if you are planning for a class action law suit.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Laptop..however has issues

Pros: Nice screen size, Great for video streaming, music, etc, with lots of stowage Quick boot up. To me it was the best buy for a 17" WiFi works great excellent distance.

Cons: Yes this laptop has clock issues as most Toshiba's do If this a concern turn away now! and get a different brand.

Speakers are not terrible and better then then most. Get a $20.00 Clip Speaker 10x better sound.

USB's are very tight

Very large size 6lbs. not easy to carry around seems a little fragile. Need a extra large padded case.

Was told by the experts if it's not a Mac it's a throw away we see how long it lasts

Other Thoughts: Purchased this laptop mainly to replace a old XP desk top. So do not carry around much.

This was one of the most reasonable 17" screen for the price. With the exception of the clock issue very happy with my purchase.

Lighted keyboard would have been a nice feature

5 out of 5 eggsWonderful computer

Pros: Computer is fast, stable, and gorgeous. It runs fairly quiet and cool unless you're gaming. The extended keyboard is an awesome feature. Computer boots up quickly from cold boot or hibernate. Great with online video streaming and sound quality is excellent.

Cons: None really.. the one con I've found so far was when I used my Logitech plug n play mouse- it took almost 45 minutes for the drivers to be installed.. that could also just be a Windows problem though. The USBs are tight when you first use them so be careful when you first start using them.

Other Thoughts: Toshiba makes great computers- I've had several and never had any issues and this one seems no different. Im a little bit of perfectionist when it comes to the computers I buy and I researched this purchase heavily and I found for the money, this is definitely one of the best laptops you can get.

1 out of 5 eggsModel has a hardware issue requiring repair

Pros: Light for a laptop of this size, screen is higher resolution than most at this price.

Cons: This model turns out to have a just discovered hardware issue requiring repair.

Do a Google search for [Satellite L775D clock running fast] to see the Toshiba forum posts about it. Basic problem is that the computer can't keep time properly when turned off, in sleep, or in hibernate, so you turn the laptop on and your clock will be hours ahead of where it should be. Repair is inconvenient; you have to bring the laptop in and not have the laptop for days or weeks.

Other Thoughts: Too bad, the laptop otherwise isn't bad, especially at the price, but, had I known about this clock problem, I definitely would have bought a different laptop, and you probably should too.

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad At All

Pros: Large Display, Stays Cool (Unless Gaming), HDMI Ready, Good Speakers

Cons: Somewhat Slow Hard Disk, No 1080p (which is mentioned in the product description), and the flat keyboars can get a bit uncomfortable at times.

Other Thoughts: All in All, I'm VERY happy with this item. It's certainly quick enough for me once booted. I produce music, and this laptop has had no issues helping me do my job. No glitches, no pauses, no problems at all. The resolution is not 1080p, but it is HD, and the screen is HUGE. I had no idea how big 17.3" really was until I recieved this a few weeks back.

Unless gaming, this laptop should stay super cool. I've had FL Studio, Cubase, Chrome and Steam all running at once with no issues, and not heat problems. However, once you fire up a game on Steam, it will heat up like any other laptop.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't waste your money

Pros: Cheap price, large screen.

Cons: This laptop has a date/time problem. Windows 7 rating of only 5.6, which is low because of the slow access time for the drive. A faster drive would bring it up to 5.9 because of the graphics. The date/time advances when the unit is shut down or at sleep. You manually have to set the date each time it awakes or boots. Not a battery problem or bios problem.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this model and Toshiba support does not have an answer. This is a lemon laptop. I was told by Toshiba support that not all laptops are having this problem, then why can't they give me a fix for this? It seems they want me to forget since they have been paid.

4 out of 5 eggsThe kind of laptop that you buy for your parents.

Pros: * Windows 7 Experience Score of 5.9
* The new integrated A-Series GPU is much better than the integrated Intel graphics at the same price point.
* Nice full sized keyboard with numpad. No misplaced or awkward keys like on some HP laptops.
* The software pre-load is mostly okay. I only uninstalled the Symantec products.

Cons: * Slow hard disk.
* No bluray drive.
* No restore media.
* The display panel is huge, but its native resolution is less than 1080p. Most people won't notice.
* A large computer like this should have more ports.

Other Thoughts: This is a desktop replacement laptop. It won't fit into most computer bags.

The panel is big and bright with large pixels, which would make it good for people with poor eyesight (or people that just like their screen that way).
