1 out of 5 eggsDont buy Toshiba

Pros: The only good thing is the A10 Chip.
Get ready for problems when the cheap hard drive fails.

Cons: Here is what will happen when the cheapo hard drive fails.
No support-because your serial will have rubbed of the bottom of the laptop.
You get to buy windows again.
Put in the new hard drive and load windows 7.
Now for the fun and the reason I will never buy or recommend Toshiba.
They have the worst driver support in the industry. Though I have the laptop working- hotkeys, blueray player, audio enhancement ect will not work because you have well over 100 drivers to choose from for this model, 16 alone for just bluetooth. Some drivers will not function unless first installing another. In 10 years of working on systems i have never seen such a mess.

Other Thoughts: You can get basic functions to work- network, sound, video.
beyond that don't waste your time fighting to get it back to its original
state after replacing the junk stock hard drive.

3 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Does what it was bought for.
Good battery life.
Good for games.

Cons: The hard drives are junk. Failed and lost all data.
That being said, all hard drives will fail.
But these drives have a high failure rate and slower rotational
Serial and model numbers will rub off the bottom of the laptop in short order, then when you contact Toshiba to provide the operating system you will have no recourse. Be prepared for that as well.

Other Thoughts: Buy a black 7200 rpm WD drive with a 5 year warranty when
this fails. Or a top rated solid state drive.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have had this laptop for 6 months now and overall it has worked well. It has enough processor power to handle everything but graphic intensive games (MMO raid settings where a huge number of effects need processing at once or where a large number of players are clustered together, like the fleet are in Star Wars: TOR). I have had no trouble with single player games such as Borderlands 2 and have had no lag when trying Guild Wars 2.

Cons: It does generate a high amount of heat. You should get a cooling had with an external fan to be safe. Also, the default Toshiba blue-ray player application is the worst I have ever used. It locks up if you try to skip more than one chapter and is very slow to react to commands.

1 out of 5 eggsMonitor failed in less than 1 month

Pros: Light for its size which doesn't really matter if you can't see anything.

Cons: Upon first use I noticed a stuck pixel (it was in the corner so I could live w/it). After just over a month, the monitor completely failed. It wouldn't even send a signal out to two other external monitors making it impossible to get

The BEST PART though, is that Toshiba makes YOU PAY TO SHIP them back the piece of c*** they produced for repair. Thanks Toshiba.

Other Thoughts: I'm sure hardware fails routinely, I did not expect that I wouldn't be able to get my files off (although I knew I should have backed up), but I do find it pretty frustrating that I have to pay to ship it to them.

1 out of 5 eggsStopped before Activation

Pros: Good stats for a Laptop, I was excited to play around with A10 APU. I decided to purchase this for a cheaper upgrade for mobile casual gaming rather than purchasing an ultrabook.

Cons: After unpacking and booting the system, when i went to set up Windows, the touchpad didn't work, neither did the buttons for it. Hitting the F5 key did nothing. Checked the Bios and It was set properly to recognize the touchpad. Worked with Toshiba and and they were unable to assist. Touchpad was just dead. While I could plug in a mouse and it would work, and for the most part, I carry a mouse with me for my laptop, I'd like to have the touchpad as a back up.

Other Thoughts: Promptly RMA'd. Hopefully the next one will work when it gets here. If it does, I'll consider altering this review.

5 out of 5 eggsI go everywhere with this!

Coming Soon!

Pros: Even though I bought this laptop from a different vendor, I still highly recommend this to anyone wanting a laptop to game on for a decent price. The BR-drive is a plus and it has a nice large HDD. Very long battery life with great performance capability. Large colorful screen with a good resolution for gaming (especially for the hardware inside). It weighs almost nothing as well which makes it easy to move around.

Cons: The power cable has a trange design that seems like it could break off pretty easily while still plugged in. The build even though is light in weight is also seems a little flimsy. The keyboard has a kinda funky shape to it which makes gaming with the WSAD control setup a little hard if you are using the left CTRL button for ducking in FPS games. The keys are very light so it takes a bit of time to get used to typing without drpped lttrs :) The software that the laptop comes with seems nice but its not really that helpful.

Other Thoughts: I love playing games on this laptop as well as watching movies on my bed before I go to sleep. I take my laptop to work so I can check sports games and such while I have down time. Fits in a backpack so that's cool.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome laptop

Pros: New trinity processor! Didn't even know they were released anywhere

Cons: Came with some bloatware. Doesn't really matter though, since I got rid of it in a few min. Also, newegg might want to bump down that price a little, as I bought it cheaper from [insert competitor here].

Other Thoughts: Even though I bought this from another site, felt I should review it here as well. I just bought an 8GB RAM card from newegg to be installed in this laptop. So far, the integrated GPU is very good! It's as powerful as some actual graphics cards.
WEI Rating:

Processor: 6.9
RAM: 7.1 (Soon to be improved with more ram by me)
Graphics: 6.7
Gaming Graphics: 6.7
Primary Hard Disk: 5.9 (Highest a Hard Drive can get on WEI)

I would like to get an SSD for this laptop, since they actually made it replaceable, but I don't have the money for it :/

5 out of 5 eggsA really good deal!

Pros: I got this notebook because a friend had an older A6 and played Skyrim on High with the HD Textures. I was really impressed, and i really do think AMD hit spot on with this new APU technology. This Notebook NOT haveing a graphics card and being able to perform on par with much more expensive notebook at 2 times the price makes this quite the deal at only $750. I would definatly reccomend these computers out to anyone, im fact i bought my mother and GF the A8-4500M models.

Cons: There is only 2 things i can think of. 1. Keep watch of the power cord connected to the device. Its kinda dodgy and is prone to breaking on the inside of the computer. 2. Its came with 6GB of RAM which isnt bad but i have OCD and i like to match them in pairs. So i replaced them with 2 DDR3 1600 4GB sticks from Kingston. Also the HDD is slow at 5400RPMs. In the "windows" score the HDD was 5.9 while everything else on this computer was 7.3 or 7.4. I would reccoment replaceing the HDD with somthing faster. Other then that really great computer.

Other Thoughts: I reall think that AMD are on the right path with their A series CPUs, and im hopefull they will continue in devolping these. Sepnding $750 on a notebook that can play games that gaming notebooks can at 3/4 of the price is just an amazing idea. Kudos to AMD.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Was looking at the HP Pavilion dv7-7010us at first, but then saw the Toshiba model, with pretty much the same hardware specs, had the BluRay drive, plus conveniently got the extra $50 off newegg coupon, which made the Toshiba $699.
So far, a solid performer, fully a pound and a half lighter than my 4-year old HP DV7-1245DX.
Only downloaded 2 newer drivers (minor) out of the box.

Cons: Haven't found any yet. Granted, 6GB (1-4, 1-2) seems a bit low on the offered RAM for a laptop capable of holding 16 (2x8GBs).
The graphics engine/APU is pretty impressive so far, but it certainly isn't comparable to a desktop/tower with twinned 1GB cards. Won't find that power in ANY laptop at this price. Still, most games I could barely run on the old laptop (upgraded to 8GB RAM) can run at considerably higher settings on this Toshiba (with currently only the stock 6GB).
Haven't noticed either of the two BluRays I watched so far got very warm at all, but USB 3.0 flash drives will put out a lot more heat during data transfer than people might realize.

Other Thoughts: Again, it's solid and stable after 4 days of loading all my preffered programs, music, movies, and games. Toshiba doesn't seem loded with the bloatware I noticed 4 years ago when I bought my HP DV7.
Was time for a new laptop, and $700 price range with the A10 processor and the BluRay drive is a pretty good deal.
Do match it with a suitable laptop cooler if you expect to run a lot of games or high-power programs.
