5 out of 5 eggsDon't know why this laptop is overlooked

Pros: Everything a game on the go needs!
Battery Life
Fast CPU
Fast GPU
Light weight

Cons: The screen resolution and contrast ratio could be better

Other Thoughts: Love the laptop. Currently playing Diablo 3 on a 1080p screen through HDMI and it plays great.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value!

Pros: Absolutely outstanding laptop. Granted I pulled the HDD put in an SSD and added 4gb of ram but what you get for the money in this thing is stellar. The switchable GPU works perfectly and being able to define what uses it and what doesn't is fantastic. Love the color too. Great display, light, and just fast.

Cons: Fingerpring magnet? That's about it. I honestly have no complaints about this laptop.

4 out of 5 eggsGood labtop for good price

Pros: Price
Discrete Graphic Card
light weight

Cons: cheap plastic chassis

Other Thoughts: The best laptop I can find within the price range that has an discrete graphic card.
I mainly purchased this computer for lab work and Diablo 3, swapped out the HDD for an SSD and using 8G ram from Corsair, the laptop is extremely fast and light weight.
However, you do get what you paid for, the chassis of this laptop is cheap made plastic. I can push almost an half inch down just by press on the keyboard frame and hear sound of plastic stretching. You would not want drop it on hard floor. The plastic is also super easy scratching, I left couple marks on mine just by plug in the USB cable.
Overall, it's a good laptop for the price, it's not very durable, battery life is about 6.5 hour regular use (word and IE stuff), doesn't get too hot either. But do really watch out for the cheap chassis as they are so soft and not in place.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: -Great performance. Runs Skyrim, Civilization V on maximum settings without so much as a hiccup.

-The best, most comfortable keyboard I have ever used. The way it's set up, it's impossible not to keep it clean.

-Long battery life. Has a power saving feature that kicks in when it's unplugged and can be toggled on and off with a button. It's advertised to last about eight hours, but it's actually about five or six, which is still great. There isn't much of a performance drop when this feature is on.

-Solid construction. Does not feel like cheap plastic, doesn't feel hollow. It's compact and sturdy.

-It has surround sound. I had no idea laptops could even do that. Turn on Netflix or something and lift the laptop up. Sound comes out of the sides.

-Does not get as hot as you'd expect when you give it a heavy workload.

Cons: -No number pad. If you're doing data entry, something to think about.

-Lots of bloatware comes installed. Almost all of it is useless. Make sure the first thing you do is get rid of it.

-When the powersave feature is on, it will alert you whenever any application is running graphics on the dedicated card. This can be anything from games to Adobe Reader. It gets annoying.

-I wish it wasn't blue.
-You will probably need to fiddle around in the Nvidia Control Panel to make games work correctly, especially with Steam. The default global setting is not always what you need.

Other Thoughts: The cons are very minor. This is a great laptop. You should buy it. However, I can't give it a 5 because 5 implies perfection. And for anyone that's struggling with FPS issues, try this:

To configure the Nvidia Control Panel to make sure your games run on the best settings, go to Manage 3D settings, Program settings, then click Add and add the .exe file of the game. Select the preferred graphics processor to High-Performance Nvidia and click apply. As I've said before, the global setting sometimes doesn't get the job done.

5 out of 5 eggsAffordable Performance

Pros: -Excellent Battery Life
-Really nice keyboard feel and layout
-Touchpad is responsive and positioned well.
-Runs quite
-Graphic performance is good. Ran all Company of heroes, CIV 5 and Path of Exile without a hitch.

Cons: -Runs a tad bit slow at times. After removing bloatware it ran much much better.
-Screen has a bit of glare.
-Blue is kinda eh...
-switching between dedicated and on board could be a bit more streamlined.
-top is a little bit of a figure print magnet but not bad.

Other Thoughts: Overall this a really good machine for the money. If your looking for portability, performance and on a budget look no further.

5 out of 5 eggsBest laptop I've seen

Pros: Superb keyboard, great look, fine performance, great feature set.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: The keyboard is just the greatest I've ever felt on a laptop. The keys are nicely separated and have a very pleasant texture and key action. I like it more than most dedicated keyboards. The layout of the keys is nice as well.

The machine itself is light and can easily be carried around in one hand. Runs very well and after removing the trial software and other junk it boots in 20 seconds or so. The removal took about two hours.

Runs Fallout 3 very well - dedicated card really helps. It can get a little hot.

I haven't noticed any noise - runs very quietly.

The sound is decent, you can hear the stereo separation though the speaker placement on the bottom means the highs are a little muffled.

Looks beautiful, love the color. Though the lid gets fingerprint smudges easily so handle with clean hands.

Couldn't be happier with this laptop especially after I upgraded the RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Performance and Value

Coming Soon!

Pros: This laptop has exceeded my expectations in every way. I purchased it as a replacement for an XPS that finally died, expecting it to be primarily a work machine with moderate gaming potential. However, when I tested it out, it really blew me away. Call of Duty MW3 runs on the highest multi-player settings at 40-50 fps, only dragging slightly when there are a lot of particle effects on screen. Skyrim runs amazingly as well, providing on par performance with an Xbox 360. Gaming strength aside, the switchable graphics feature is great, the battery lasts much much longer, and the on board video chip still packs a decent punch as well. The laptop is very light, and is of sturdy construction. The keys feel great, and the display is fantastic. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone looking to get a laptop that can play current generation games at respectable frame rates, but still desiring a high amount of portability for school/work.

Cons: The only con thus far is a slight quirk with the switchable graphics feature. Sometimes the machine doesn't switch over to the NVidia chip upon starting a game, this has only occurred with steam games so far.
To fix this, make sure you update your GPU driver and then browse to the application in your steamapps folder from the NVidia control panel. Make sure you tell it to always use the NVidia GPU when running whatever game you're wanting to play. I had to do this in order to get the laptop to use the NVidia chip for MW3. However, as a testament to the quality of the integrated graphics chip, I was playing MW3 multi-player at high framerates on low-medium settings before i realized the laptop wasn't even using the NVidia GPU.

Other Thoughts: The video is of MW3 on maximum multiplayer settings. That map is the one I have found to be toughest on the GPU, likely due to all the foliage, water, particle effects. During filming, the framerate rarely dippled below 40, and never went lower than 37. It generally hovered around 42-45.

5 out of 5 eggsNot a bad laptop for travel ..

Pros: Battery life is great when using the integrated graphics card.

Great for checking email and the like while I am out.

Like the keyboard, the keys have some texture, not the slippery keys I've seen on some laptops.

Small size, but love the ability to use the dedicated card to play some older games while I travel.

Once you remove the bloat, it runs pretty good with the I5 processor.

Cons: I knew the resolution when I bought it, but I do find it to be somewhat limiting, but on a 14" laptop, you have to give something up for the portability. Screen is shiny and does have some glare that limits the viewing angle.

Gets a little warm when running the dedicated card playing games. Not a problem if you have it on the desk, but a little warm on the lap.

Other Thoughts: All in all, after a lot of research, I picked this laptop to take when my 6 year old laptop just wouldn't cut it for traveling. It wont be my primary machine, I just cant give up the 2 monitors and the power of a desktop. But for the price, dedicated graphics, fairly thin, small and easy to travel with, I am happy with my purchase. Newegg had great delivery, ordered it at noon, was leaving on the trip in a couple days, got it next day!
