5 out of 5 eggsSmall, Powerful and Great Price!

Pros: With the i7 processor and 8GB of memory, this laptop is a great for performance, and for the price you can't go wrong.

Cons: Drive was a bit too slow for this machine, I recommend upgrading the drive to a 7200RPM or a SSD.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TINY laptop

Pros: Near tablet levels of lightness and portability, and reasonably fast. Keyboard is good, and after around 6 months use the laptop seems to be durable.

Very quick (as laptops go) for non-graphics-heavy stuff. Graphics hardware isn't fancy so it's not great for games, etc.

Anyway, wish there were more laptops this small, fast and affordable.

Cons: This thing is small and crampt. That's what you get with a laptop this small... to me it's a worthwhile compromise, but if you're using lots of graphics-heavy applications, get a bigger computer. This one will drive you crazy.

Also, the trackpad works, but isn't great. Battery life isn't great either, probably because of the beefy CPU.

5 out of 5 eggssurprisingly good

Pros: At first I didn't want to keep it -- it died in 3 days; a bad dimm. acer was quick in replacing chip. bought it just for travel, but now working on it. it's easy to use, fast and seems to have quality parts.
Acer customer service is good. It's small but keyboard is comfortably spaced.

Cons: sometimes drops wifi connection, but not often. like it and intend to buy extended warranty

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely great buy

Pros: This laptop has the size and weight of the early netbooks from 2-3 years ago and has the power of modern laptop. Extremely impressive!

Cons: Windows 8 takes a bit of getting used to, but it's just fine once you get the hang of it.

Other Thoughts: This is my first laptop and I'm not disappointed one bit.

5 out of 5 eggsSkinny laptop needs skinny SSD

Pros: Silver, one screw to remove the access cover, no button mouse, flush keys, VGA, HDMI

Cons: Power cord sticks out the side. Headphone and Microphone jack presumably the same.

Other Thoughts: Like Coderego said below, if you want to install and SSD get the thin kind. He says 7mm, but I don't know anything about it yet. (and I called my Tech Knowledge "high", hehe) All the SSDs I have wouldn't fit. So I went with the Crucial mSATA 32GB at NewEgg and the iOcrest mSATA SSD to 2.5" SATA adapter. I might be losing some trans rate speed that way, but who gives a rip? It's simply the fastest lappy I've ever laid sweaty palms on.

5 out of 5 eggsPowerful Little Package

Pros: i7, 8gig Ram, Acer drivers work for legacy operating systems.

Cons: track pad a bit "touchy"

Other Thoughts: I bought this intending to yank the drive, install an mSATA and load Windows Server 2003 x64, Apache 2.2, MySQL 5.5, and Lasso 8.5. You know what? That's exactly what I did. And it works flawlessly. But before that, I fell in love with Windows 8, so I'll keep the OEM drive and put it back in if I ever want to flirt with that super sexy OS again. But I needed a wicked powerful little web app server, and "I don't do Linux". Kudos to Acer for easy download of drivers from their website. The Windows 7 x64 hardware drivers all work in Windows Server 2003 x64, which is basically Vista, which is what Windows 7 is, which is what Windows 8 is, que sera sera. With an SSD drive in this Laptop, it blows the Apple MacBook Air out of the Universe. Too bad it's now just a portable web app server. "Just" a web app server. Bwa ha ha!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little laptop, especially considering the price.

Pros: This has the power of a workstation in the package of a netbook. With a Core i7 processor and 8 GB of memory, it's very fast and very powerful, but also very small, light, and portable.

Cons: Obviously, you should make sure you're OK with having such a small screen (11.6") on your laptop before you consider this. Also, I'm not crazy about the new UI on Windows 8, but I can't fault the hardware for that. The battery life could be better, but it's completely adequate for my needs.

Other Thoughts: I stuck with a 5-star rating here, because the only drawbacks I see are limitations directly related to its size (which is something you should be conscious of if you're considering a specialty laptop like this), and its OS, which is Microsoft's fault and not Acer's.

4 out of 5 eggsTiny and powerful

Pros: Tiny
Crazy powerful for the size and price
Easy to take apart

Cons: Might be a little too tiny. This thing is smaller than you think.
The touch pad is a bit annoying. They copied the apple design--no physical buttons, annoying gestures, etc. However it does allow a good deal of configuration

Other Thoughts: Windows 8 is very annoying but easy enough to replace.

I would recommend putting a SSD in it. Faster, lighter, cooler, less power consumption. Make sure its 0.7mm or it wont fit. Samsung 840 is a good low power option.

With an i7 ivy bridge, 8 gigs of ram, and a samsung 840 this thing is light, small, extremely powerful, and consumes very little power.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent lightweight fast laptop

Pros: Fast processor
Lots of RAM
Large Hard Drive
Lightweight and Small
Priced very competitively

I hate lugging around a large laptop, but I wanted an i7 for some of the engineering software I use. I originally wanted a MacBook Air, but couldn't justify the price after looking at this.

Cons: Windows 8 is awful. I wound up installing Windows 7 on it. I also dual boot with Ubuntu 12.10 (which runs flawlessly)

Trackpad is hard not to touch it while typing, which causes the mouse to click. I use an USB mouse most of the time, so its no biggie.
