Is the laptop loud or fairly quiet? Does it have a fan?

very very quite.  Have yet to year a fan on the I7.
at the one month point I am still super happy with my purchase.

you have to weigh price vs features but this is the second best laptop deal I ever made and the previous was a going out of business sale deal.

Does it have a CD/DVD drive?

Accepted Answer

No, but it has plenty of USB ports you can use to plug in an external CD drive (under $50). But those are not all that useful now, and with "memory sticks" for a few dollars at 16GB (4 times the capacity of the CD standard) the memory stick is much faster, more reliable, and easier to store/transport.

1. Is the RAM accessible and upgradable to the max of 16 GB?
2. Is the SSD accessible for upgrade to a higher capacity SSD?

What is considered "sufficient" for one may not be for others. storing alot of videos or large programs may become a problem quick on this SSD.. So back to the original question is the SSD accessible to be upgraded?

The Toshiba website lists 5.1 lbs, but on my scale, I get 4.9-4.8 lbs. The 5.1 might include the charger. The SSD must save a little, as this was about the lightest 15.6" model I could find that wasn't crazy expensive due to cosmic materials.
