- Pros: amazing display for the money... great wifi and speedy system ... finally got windows xp and it screams...lots of trouble with the sound drivers CRYSIS runs well at moderately high settings so that should give an idea on
- Cons: difficult to install windows xp drivers not available from ASUS...and difficult to make a hardware inventory
Amazing Laptop
- Pros: Works amazing for all purposes. Great FPS in all games. Plays movies and music perfect. Amazing picture. Quite powerful
- Cons: The asus live updates auto updated my bios. Lost all audio in all games. Can still watch movies and listen to music. Counter Strike or call of duty 4 have no sound what so ever and i can't seem to find a way to make it work. The touch pad cannot be disabled now either. Laptop comes with vista and i cannot find any xp drivers to load xp on it.
- Other Thoughts: Well worth the money and very powerful. Ignore a majority of the updates and you should not have a problem. If anyone has a fix for the sound or touch pad issue feel free to e-mail me (especially if your from asus). Haven't seen anyone else with these problems so I would recommend you get it.
GREAT!
- Pros: Beautiful screen resolution & color/vibrancy, solid, powerful, stable, and reliable. I've owned the ASUS G2S-B2 Notebook for about 2 1/2 months, and can't say enough good things! From startup, I have had no issues - Not even with Vista. I also have had no issue with installing all kinds of software. No issues with overheating either. Bloatware? Just uninstall what you don’t want on there – Easy. I run a Graphic & Web Design business, creating a lot of complicated graphic renderings and Flash movies - This notebook has never bogged down, hesitated, or frozen up. It also runs all of my 1st person shooter games and all other hi-graphic games with no issue. Very smooth scrolling, and a wide field of view due to the hi-res widescreen. The backpack case is very roomy, and has enough space for everything one needs when going remote. I barely use my desktop now! 3 people who I have demo’d the notebook to were so excited after seeing/playing with it, they are now purchasing one! A highly usable
- Cons: It is heavier than normal, but it doesn't bother me at all. The backpack carrying case works well. I suggest first - Uninstall the random software you don’t need that came preloaded, and update the video drivers to the NBF MobileForce VS 169.04 M6. Easy, and well worth it.
- Other Thoughts: After months of online research, I am so glad a friend told me about this notebook. There are no others on the market that offer a 17.0" Wide UXGA screen for this price - Make sure you buy UXGA or be sorely disappointed.
I'm VERY happy with my purchase!!
