5 out of 5 eggsExcelent Laptop

Pros: Well, Everything really. Beautiful screen, smooth and crisp keyboard, nice webcam, quick load times, fast wi-fi connection, and a nice pair of processors. The chassis feels solid with no wobble between the screen and frame. Blue Ray/DVD reader is fast as well. Battery charges fast. Overall, great computer.

Cons: It attracts hair and fingerprints like crazy. It seems that the track pad and right/left click buttons are a little sub par compared to the rest of the keyboard, however I have barely used it. Battery life at max settings is very short, however, that is at max settings, on less, battery life is much greater.

Other Thoughts: Well, I love it.

5 out of 5 eggsworks flawlessly!!!

Pros: The computer works flawlessly! The only issue I've ran into is the 64 bit operating system, it runs fast but won't run all 32 bit programs. The battery lasts surprisingly long with the components its made up of. The 2.5 ghz processer works extreemly well in it, as does the graphics card. I've been able to run Call of Duty 4 on nearly full resolution without a freezing issue yet. The body of the laptop is built well, it doesn't flex like toshiba or dells do.

Cons: Get headphones or speakers, the computer comes with a great sound card, but terrible speakers! Wish it could be more affordable, but so far its been more than worth the price when I compare it to friends Dells or HPs.

Other Thoughts: Can't go wrong with it, its relyable and worth the money.

Other Thoughts: overall its a great computer just wish more programs supported 64 bit windows

5 out of 5 eggsWondeful machine

Pros: Very fast machine. Rates a 4.8 on Vista, with gaming graphics and HD at 5.3, CPU at 5.4, memory at 4.9, and oddly enough Aero graphics at 4.8. It's also reliably fast, as opposed to sometimes slow for no good reason as I've seen in some other brands. I've played Call of Duty 4 and Neverwinter Nights 2 on this machine at full graphics (minus AA) and they run completely smooth.

The screen resolution is beautiful, I have no idea how I would ever be able to go back to anything less now.

The keys are well placed and have a nice feeling resistance and click to them, but aren't too loud.

The Direct Messenger LCD screen shows the time and incoming emails/MSN IMs, which is pretty cool.

It gets super hot at the center bottom for little apparent reason, even when just surfing the web, but it doesn't spread across the rest of the laptop even when gaming. This means my hands don't get hot, and I can even set it in my lap, since my legs only touch the sides of it.

Out of room, more in

Cons: Speakers are on the bottom, and thus sound is really unclear. Bearable, and it would be worse to have moved the keyboard down than to put the speakers on the bottom, but still it's annoying.

All four USB ports are in the same place on the back. Why on earth...?

It would be nice to be able to get extra functionality out of the Direct Messenger LCD screen without hunting down third party software.

The birds eye in between the mouse buttons would be way cooler if it actually did anything, like a middle click for example.

There's a startup noise in the BIOS when you turn on the machine, no way to turn it off that I see. That's annoying.

Miss having physical sound and wireless controls like on my Toshiba, instead of just function keys.

Power cord is kinda short, but it's because of the generic section of it, so I might try and find a longer cord for that part.

Fingerprint MAGNET, but having it so shiny everywhere is worth it for me :-)

Other Thoughts: Continued Pros:
The laptop's build feels very sturdy, but not too heavy. The screen doesn't wobble any at all.

I guess since it's Vista x64, there was very little (almost no) crapware on it from the manufacturer, it's a very clean default install as compared to other laptops I've bought/seen.

The webcam login system is pretty sweet, though it doesn't always pick me up if I'm in a new environment.

Headphone/mic jacks are on the side instead of the front like a lot of manufacturers do for no apparent reason.

I've so far not had a single problem with Vista x64, more stable if anything.

The backpack they send with it is pretty cool, and the mouse that comes with it is easily the best mouse I've ever used (in fact it's the same exact same mouse I already own and used lol, but it's nice having a twin).

In anticipation of fingerprints, they also sent a very effective cleaning wipe!

Get's about 2:30 of battery life on full brightness during basic use, which is way more th

4 out of 5 eggsG1Sn-B1

Pros: Played BF2, FEAR, COD 4 and Sup Comm, all with very high settings with no prob. Lappy looks very nice. Screen is very bright and stuff looks nice on it. Backpack (ASUS) and mouse (Logit) are not bad at all.

Cons: Speakers are horrible (2 speakers located on bottom front). All the 4 USB ports are located on the back. Fingerprint magnet.

Things that would have been nice on a gaming laptop:
Turbo memory.
7200 RPM HD.
Backlit keyboard.
Free money.

Price dropped $100 after i bought it :(.

Other Thoughts: Tried to dual boot with XP, but drivers are hard to find. Gave up 4 now.

4 out of 5 eggsHot Number

Pros: Excellent Display quality 1680 x 1050. Microsoft Vista Home Premium 64-bit OS. Windows Experience Index 4.8. Product comes with backpack, Logitech Mouse, Microfiber cleaning cloth and cable tie. Nero DVD/CD burning software and System Restore disk included. usa.asus.com web site has all necessary driver and updates needed.

Cons: NoteBook and AC/DC power converter run a little warm. Blu-ray Disc drive not packaged with software to play Blu-ray Movies. (Sold Separately) One hard drive bay. USB connectors located in the back of laptop. Sound system adequate.(Small Speakers located on the bottom)

Other Thoughts: All things considered... The package is worth the price. Excellent Speed, Visuals, Features and Support. So far no incompatibility problems have surfaced.
