The G50V from Asus revolutionizes the way you game on the go. Plus it has features to increase your privacy and productivity. The 15.4" screen has a 1680x1050 resolution for exceptional image quality and detail. A fast response and an NVIDIA GeForce 9700M GT GPU with 512MB of dedicated memory complete the picture.
A secondary display for instant messaging keeps the primary display clutter free. Asus split the 500GB of storage between two drives so you separate the programs from the data to increase performance. There is also a CPU performance boost feature for when you need that little bit of an edge.
All of this functionality is great, but useless in isolation. So, there's a plethora of connection options, both wired and wireless. Circling the shell are 4xUSB, 1xFireWire, 1xRJ-11, 1xGigabit Ethernet, 1xHDMI and more. Wireless connectivity includes 802.11a/g/n and Bluetooth V2.1.

Awesome Laptop
- Pros: I am a G1 owner and I bought this notebook to replace it. I loved the G1, but this thing is on another level of style and craftsmanship. For all of you that worry about the color, well, lets just say that the oohs and aahs in awe of this machine have yet to cease. This thing is like a Ferrari and oozes with style. Awesome specs, Awesome warranty, and Awesome looking!! Highly highly recommended.
- Cons: Speaker clarity is improved 100% from the G1, but this is a laptop, so low tones are not very apparent. No big deal, that is why Bose makes most awesome headphones. Buy a pair.
- Other Thoughts: I am a Tech junkie, but had NEVER bought a notebook pc until the Asus G1 was released. Now this thing trumps that one. As I stated before, the fit and finish of this pc is second to none. The hinging of the screen is superior with no play. The screen is just gorgeous. This thing is second to none in price for performance!! Just my 2 cents.
OWNS HARD
- Pros: Runs most games at super high settings, HL2 at Full max with 16xaa, Doom 3 at max. Excellent software, minimal to no bloatware. (Free Programs that you dont want). Full number pad. All around BA machine
- Cons: Not 3gbs sata 2 drive, Not really a big deal

Great Laptop
- Pros: Great Laptop Ive using it for pretty much gaming. It runs Cyrsis Warhead, Unreal Tournament III, and Steam games great. I've been running it on a 40 inch LCD screen using the HDMI of course.

Great Notebook!
- Pros: Full desktop experience. I plugged this thing directly into my Samsung 40 " 1080P LCD TV and it's completely connected via HDMI, sound and all. Beautiful setup. This styling is hot - after seeing the lower model at Best buy in the store all the other laptops look so bland to me. I whipped it out the first time on the train today and everyone was drooling at it. Warranty is 2 years - definitely a sign of quality workmanship. Nice size - beautiful large screen and the machine isn't too large for me. It feels like a super-sized EEE. Although it is large, it feels stable in your lap, and it doesn't feel that heavy.
As soon as I get home I sit it on a stand near my TV, plug in the HDMI and my wireless mouse/Keyboard and my full HTPC is ready to go! Couldn't be happier.

Game hang glitch
- Pros: It plays warhead just amazingly.. I have the the G50-A2 version and I am writing this to tell fellow ASUS G50 buyers a little issue with the Gamer light display on the lid..See Cons..
- Cons: Log onto express gate and turn your light display OFF as it causes issues while playing hardware demanding games.. I noticed minor stuttering in TF2, Warhead, and UT3 and that was when I figured out there was something wrong.. I turned the lighting on the lid completely off as it was annoying anyhow and lo n behold all problems fixed.. Now all my games run smooth..If you experience the same issues this might help quite a bit.
- Other Thoughts: The sound is another issue as Asus for some reason runs stock volume on all their laptops at 4 out of 8 in the bios.. Simple fix.. F2 during power on and crank to 8 in your bios.. It is proper after...After uninstalling NORTON your games will fly.. Amazing laptop.. completely worth your cash.. This particular model got a 84% Excellent rating form PC gamer mag and that is against the alienwares an the like that cost over double what this costs..Definately a proper purchase for gamers..
