5 out of 5 eggsTop of the line netbook!

Pros: 9300m GS is great! it can play World In conflict, Crysis and more! It will even allow for 480P-720P H.264 decoding through Media Player Classic Home Cinema! Switchable GMA 950/Geforce 9300m GS allows for a perfect balance of Preformance and Battery Life. With GMA 950/Intel SpeedStep it is possible to get up to 5 hours of battery life. Webcam is great. Built in ambient light sensor (Fn+a) allows for a balance of screen brightness and battery longevity. Built in power 2 go power profile manager is very useful and has a built in "turbo mode" overclocking preset whereupon the Atom is overclocked to ~1760 MHZ which makes Hulu 360P playable. Built in Fingerprint reader is fantastic. Express gate boots to a usable menu in within 8 seconds. Keyboard feels natural. 320GB hard drive is incredible for a computer of this type. Vista runs very well once booted, especially with Google Chrome. Built in card reader/HDMI/VGA/Wireless N is superb.Overclocking is very easy!(unless your new to the concept

Cons: 1:03 Seconds vista boot to logon time. More bloatware than appreciated is installed. Battery sticks out from main form of netbook. Heavier than expected. Expressgate has a terrible UI, with a terribly slow adaption of Firefox 2 as it's main browser. There really is no point in opening more than one tab through expressgate. Netbook gets hotter than it should. Bloatware cloggs up logon untill disabled. Hard drive comes partitioned into two partitions, although this is easy to deal with in vista. Asus built in animations are great eye candy but they can temporairily overburden the atom. Speakers are definetly not going to be used for a home theater. Face recognition logon doesnt really work. One more time, BLOATWARE (sorry Asus). In order to switch graphics you need to reboot. For some reason the keyboard switches to what I beleve to be mandarin at random intervals mode with no way to fix it other than rebooting. Price tag seems kinda hefty.

Other Thoughts: Power Pack is realitivley tiny! Perfect for the gamer on the go or a smaller than a standard notebook desktop replacement. Anybody who buys one of these will most likely find to be invaluable. I recommend that you uninstall bloatware and defrag when you first get one of these. Despite its bad rap vista runs surprisingly well on this thing, and it is able to take advantage of the 2GB of memory. Battery Life is superb even while gaming. Vista's power management really shines here. Screen looks great but seems as if it could be and inch wider and taller. The metallic look is great and the entire netbook remains shiny for quite a while. You can buy a battery that isnt officially supported by Asus but one that fits the N10 and can give it up to 10 hours of battery life. I love this thing, and it is an overall great laptop. Nice job Asus, Great Netbook. Price tag seems kinda hefty though.

5 out of 5 eggsN10J is the best!

Pros: Touch typeable keyboard, crisp screen, excellent battery life. Switchable graphics.

Cons: Switching GPUs requires a reboot. Mouse buttons are loud unless you press the top center of the button.

Other Thoughts: The wireless works perfectly with Ubuntu (and all other Linux distros) -- it uses the ath9k driver, which doesn't come with most default installations. Just do a web search for "n10j linux" to find my howto guide which explains exactly how to get it working with Linux :)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Machine

Pros: Small size, long battery life, good graphics and HDMI output.

Cons: Small keyboard and no DVD drive.

Other Thoughts: This thing is a powerhouse in a tiny container. I use it for day to day computing and travel. It is perfect little companion for travel or surfing while watching TV. I use it to play EVE Online and it handles it well even on my 65" big screen through the HDMI output. Handles video well and has plenty of storage to bring movies with you when you travel.

5 out of 5 eggsGreatest thing since sliced bread!

Pros: Nvidia Dedicated Graphics - Nice for Gaming.
SMALL - But Keyboard has normal layout and almost full size for most keys, & Right Shift in proper place.
Battery Life is spectacular - 3.5 - 4 hrs with Nvidia and Wireless going.
Touchpad is amazing.

Will take WinXP just fine without 'compatible' mode if you use NLite and slipstream the Intel Matrix drivers onto your XP install CD.

Cons: Wish it was cheaper.
Dual Core would make this thing unbeatable.

Other Thoughts: Picked one of these up open box to upgrade from a 904HA. WAY better layout on keyboard.

I bought the 904HA and then got back into WoW, 904 played it, but at pretty horrible framerates, picked this up and framerates are awesome, can do 5-man raids no problem, and cities are fine as well. It'll slow down a bit if there's A LOT of people on screen, but it is only an Atom, c'mon what do you want?

Bottom line, just buy it if you want a small computer with decent battery life than can play some games. I won't go back to a full sized laptop ever. I'm just hoping they can get a dual core into the next iteration and keep battery life.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Netbook

Pros: Small size, light, good battery life, bright screen, HDMI with 1080p.

Cons: Atom processor, small resolution, Windows Vista. I was unable to get wireless card to work properly under Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.10 even after recompiling the kernel as per dozens of guides out there. Will have to wait until next distro, maybe it will have the solution.

Other Thoughts: If you travel alot, this is the netbook for you. Don't expect to be playing Left4Dead and such on it, this is not what this item is designed to do. Under Vista environment with few features disabled it works flawlessly and quickly. Runs some older games. Overall if all depends on what you want from this machine.

Do not buy if you intend to play games or do multimedia stuff that needs alot of crunching power.

5 out of 5 eggsGreatest thing since sliced bread

Pros: Small, keyboard layout is spectacular: right shift key in proper place, albeit small. Bigger Keyboard than 1000 series, would say just shy of fullsize on the 'true keys' Function keys still smaller.

Touchpad is a dream, almost regret purchasing BT mouse because touchpad is so nice.

Cons: Wish they would include a real case instead of sleeve.

Wish it was dual-core.

Other Thoughts: Greatest computer I've ever owned, plays WoW like a dream, decent battery life even with wireless, bt & discrete graphics [3.5 - 4 hrs].

I've had a eee pc 904ha, and original 7", this thing is the bee's knees. I couldn't move to a standard size laptop again.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Device

Pros: Excellent Battery Life. I'm getting about 4 hours with normal settings. Ability to OC the Atom to 1.8Ghz with ASUS software. Great looking LCD. Lightweight. This will play modern games on medium to low settings. I've been able to play 720p through the HDMI cable to my LCD TV.

Cons: I wish wish wish there was the ability to go to 4GB of ram but everything I'm reading says its a hardware limitation of chipset.

4 out of 5 eggsCould it be sweeter?

Pros: Fit and finish are great. Does everything it says it can do and at a descent pace regardless of the Atom. The "bloatware" is actually useful. I kept everything.

Cons: The enclosed instructions for switching from Vista to XPP are worthless. It's the typical scenario where the tech didn't write down everything they were thinking before it went to the printer. The discs are labeled a little tricky so pay attention to the abbreviations. (XPP-XP Pro) I was so excited about this thing that I almost installed the Chinese version of XP. Also this thing runs HOT!

Other Thoughts: This thing is worth every penny. Just get a cooling pad for extended lap use.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Large HDD, plenty of RAM, NVIDIA GPU, integrated wireless n(Atheros 9k), gigabit ethernet (realtec), integrated webcam and mic, card reader, all works in linux and plays World of warcraft great.
Mic picks up great
ACPI PM works great.
fingerprint scanner would probably work if I cared.
battery seems to go on forever (I dont play games on battery, don't be silly)

Cons: would have been nice to have an atom330 instead of 270, 330 has 64bit and dual cores, paired with this GPU its a little unbalanced
screen is wsvga (1024x600) would have been nice ant not too hard to have at least 768 lines (wxga, 1028x768)

Other Thoughts: just big enough to use for everything, just small enough to cary with you in the provided case anywhere.
it comes with a svideo to rca adapter, the laptop has neither ports on it, cable has no purpose.
I run gentoo, and the machine has the ASUS BIOS linux that quick boots, so technically I has 2 linux installs on it :-p

5 out of 5 eggsExcelent.

Pros: Hardware wise - awesome. You can't beat it for features and power in any laptop that is nearly this small.
A/B/G/N Atheros network card is great, up to 100 mw broadcast power.

The Asus included software is very well done and some of it is quite useful, express gate is nice. Not much bloatware (just Norton, it goes away without a fight though).

Easy to switch to XP, just make sure you have a USB cdrom or bootable flash drive.

Cons: Vista. After 2 days of getting used to Vista, it stopped booting and gave me BSODs. Vista auto recovery wouldn't work (express gate worked fine :P).

Other Thoughts: Waited 2 more days for my usb dvd drive to arrive. After that, the switch to XP was the most painless XP install i've ever had, and installation of the Asus apps and drivers was automated.

Great notebook, it won't disappoint.

It is easier than you think to make a bootable Ubuntu flash drive.
