2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great computer, great system, good price for what it's capable of.

Cons: In less than a month of having the computer it crashed with what I later found out to be a common problem with ASUS laptops. Won't boot and says it needs the boot disc. When run with boot disc it will then display in huge red letters "ERROR". Anyway had to send it back to ASUS to have it fixed.

Other Thoughts: I really liked this computer until it crashed. If when I get it back and it runs fine for more than a couple years than I might recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat laptop

Pros: runs vista great after removing some bloatware far less than other oem's screen looks great, business style laptop clean looking no fancy colors. t5800 4gb ram,512mb dedicated vram, runs rfactor at max settings. all drivers for xp are on the asus site

Cons: no 64 bit os, only use 3 of 4 gigs, dvd drive is a little slow and noisy, not enough to take off an egg, provided media doesn't allow for custom partition sizes, just a 60/40 split, you can use a 3rd arty tool to get it partitioned to your liking

Other Thoughts: more than I expected for the price and it's an ASUS, the bag that comes with it is pretty sweet, this is a good laptop but I would not expect it to play newer games very well, but is good for older games, internet and all other PC use

5 out of 5 eggsGreat price

Pros: Awesome laptop for the price. It plays games pretty well I've been playing half life 2 on it and it runs almost perfectly (choppy very rarely but can barely complain). I definitely wouldn't run crysis or something like that on it but if you wanted to do that, why did you spend $800 on it? Mouse is pretty good and so is case so that was nice. I personally am not impressed with the face recognition as it just does not recognize me lol. You have some uninsalling to also be done but its a new computer with a factory install seriously what do you expect.

Cons: My only complaint is that I have now gotten train tracks twice. Just instantly out of the blue. I think its that it was on my lap and my knees were covering up the heat port and it overheated. Basically watch that back port because it is its main heating haha!

Other Thoughts: I almost thought about giving this laptop 4 eggs because its not perfect but then I remembered 2 things. 1. I am kind of comparing to my desktop that I BUILT (thus cheaper than buying from a computer maker) for $1300 and 2. This thing is $800! Well worth the price.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome BUY!

Pros: Overall I had a really great experience with this laptop. Bought for school and the net, but found myself playing games on it and it plays well!
-Pretty fast for price
-Awesome features(face recognition software and others)
-Love the rock solid design and looks Slick & Nice!
-Great Portability and LOVE the mouse and case it comes with. Small and light for travels.
-Plays all my games perfectly from Starcraft to Warcraft3(Dota) and from Counter Strike Source(40-60fps on High) to COD4 (30-45fps on high and 45-60fps on Medium)
-Speakers are Good enough for listening to music in my room, which I am quite surprised how loud it is for its price.
-Screen looks nice and bright.
-Love the number of ports(but wish it had a HDMI) and the Wifi is actually good!
-Gets BARELY warm!(I mean I spent 5-6hours on it playing CS:S and it was never noticeably warm at all, but when you check the vent it kinda warm, but doesnt bother you at all also runs perfectly.
-Great buy for PRICE!

Cons: -Some Bloatware(But easily removed in 10-15mins. Office trial took the longest)
-When moving the screen below 50-60degrees makes it automatically go on stand by which is kinda annoying for me, but for some others like my sister not that annoying.
-Kinda slow at first because of the Bloatware, but after uninstalling it, its way faster but still get jumps from 10% to 40% and oddly to 80% CPU usage from doing nothing.
-Ctrl key and Fn key are switched, which makes cs difficult but got used to it fast.
-Kinda slow when multi-tasking but handles it very well when you learn how to use it.
-Now I am just nit-picking lol. So overall the Cons are minamal at worst. So buyer don't worry its a great laptop for portability and power.

Other Thoughts: Man I am really happy with what I bought. Cheap and powerful is all I need since I am a poor college student. Had to use Fin-Aid for this lol.

5 out of 5 eggsA decent replacement

Pros: Open the box and find a carrying bag and mini-mouse, more than I expected for the price. Initial setup was a breeze, except for the wireless connection which was user ignorance and an aged AP. A little googling and a Vista tweak or two and I was good to go. The system performance is amazing, given we moved up from a PIV 3000, 2gb ram notebook. Can't go wrong for the price.

Cons: Warranty required sending in a form or registering online. Talked to someone who warned me about making requests for warranty service from Asus, but since I haven't had the need, I can't confirm this.

5 out of 5 eggsWOW!

Pros: This machine is great buy for limited funding. The ATI 3470, 250 GB HDD, 2 GHz dual core for 799.00!!! You can't get this deal at some retail store. I bought this for my wife for around the house. I put COD 4 on it and it ran medium settings around 65 FPS. Pretty darn good. Little tweaking and it will run better. This is great little machine for travelling, it's a mobile powerhouse.

Cons: Only con I really notice is the gloss black external case. It is finger print magnet, ASUS gives you a nice case, mouse, and screen wipe whichs wipes everything away nicely.

Other Thoughts: Well worth the money! Great job Newegg!
