Awesome machine
- Pros: Great laptop! Bought this for video editing with an external HD it is super smooth and fast. Software runs smoothly and efficiently. The cpu, the 4go of ram and the graphics card...all works beautifully, rendering is very quick. 7200rpm HD, good resolution. Fingerprint and smart logon is cool, the mouse thats comes with it is also nice and very convinient. Great looks too. Alle the multimedia ports i need: firewire, e-sata, usb, hdmi, SD card slot...
- Cons: I dont like the esata port located in the front. It's a bit of drag since thats where i plug my external Hard drive. A little akward but still works great. All the awesome features beats that small negative detail big time.
- Other Thoughts: Overall an awesome machine and very powerfull!!!
Outstanding Laptop
- Pros: Very quiet, minimum bloatware, battery last 3hrs and you can add personal satifaction as a pro.
- Cons: The location of the SATA port on the front was awkward. That might just be a personal issue.. LOL.
- Other Thoughts: This laptop currently outperforms my previous laptop running the same OS. I’ve been using it aggressively since day one and it has not shown any weakness. **This is a good buy***

Amazing
- Pros: Amazing graphics card Geforce 9650 with 1GB of VRAM is enough to get anyy job done. Finger print reader is great haven't had any problems with it yet. The Asus Lifeframe program is pretty coo,l it lets you take all the opportunity of the facial recognition. 4GBs of RAM is great. Computer is fast due to the Duo T9550 processor.
- Cons: Windows Vista; I love the look, but the program it's self sucks. Sometime my USB ports blank out but it hasn't done that since I wiped the HDD. The HHD is partitioned, which i found stupid. Norton security scanner was so embedded into the system it took me 2hrs of outside help trying to get it out. FINGER PRINTS!
- Other Thoughts: I love the laptop, it should be better once I get XP 64-bit on it. Asus has all the drivers you could ever need on it's website. It has on the fly touch settings like the picture quality, touch pad dis abler and performance adjuster. Kind of stupid how they give you a S-Video cable when there is no port, more useful if it came with a HDMI cable. I have the finger print reader automatically enter all of my login and passwords with a swipe of my finger. Excellent Gamer, Plays Bf2142 at the highest settings and Crysis. I recommend to download the Nvidia physics enhancer. It also comes with a pretty powerful mic, just when your talking on TPS or Xfire you get a lot feed back from the game that your playing but nothing my headphones couldn't fix. This is an amazing machine and so far has handled everything that i have thrown at it, I look forward to see what else it can do.
Love it!
- Pros: Dedicated video, good battery life, IEEE 1394 port(4 pin, consider buying a cable if you want to use this), 15" display, 320 GB 7200 rpm hard drive, fingerprint scanner, bluetooth, 2 year warrantee.
- Cons: Windows Vista 32 bit, lid doesn't latch(not a problem for me), fingerprint scanner is fussy.
- Other Thoughts: I spent a lot of time comparing laptops. This one seemed like the best features for the money. I have only had it for a week, but it outpowers my two year old desktop. The figerprint reader seems like a good idea but I had trouble getting good reads and had to repeatedly swipe my finger. The Vista operating system seems okay, but I may put windows 7 beta on so I will have a 64 bit os.
Good Power for the price
- Pros: Laptop has a bright screen, brighter and clearer than other laptops I have use. Battery life seems to be far better than that of my previous Compaq laptop. Touchpad operates smoothly, though I once in awhile get up against the scroll portions. Love the finger print reader.
- Cons: Windows Vista Premium 32-bit doesn't take advantage of all the memory and seems a little troublesome. Widescreen, never have liked it for computing, great for video, but sucks for the internet, far more scrolling. No S-video output and uses a VGA output versus a DVI like some of the previous ASUS laptops. Speakers are a bit puny, but not too bad for a laptop.
- Other Thoughts: Wished Newegg would list the type of operating system, whether its 64 or 32 bit, and would use which ever best utilizes the computer's resources. I got this when first listed at about 2 less than listed now, still a great laptop, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a performer with a good price.
