5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop

Pros: - i7 + GTX 260m + two 320 GB HDD's = beast
- Plays a benchmark version of RE5 at ~65 FPS and Half Life 2 at ~120 FPS
- Touchpad may take a short time to get used to but it is amazing
- The mouse is absolutely awesome (I just wish it had some programmable buttons)

Cons: - 3D, while it's awesome when it does work the IR emitter doesn't always send a single meaning that the 3D flashes on and off
- I wish the OS partition was bigger
- Runs quite hot
- This can easily be fixed by repositioning it
- It's a fingerprint magnet
- For some odd reason I clean it constantly so it doesn't really bother me

Other Thoughts: Luckily, the cons are easily overridden so making this an immensely great laptop

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Computer

Pros: Love everthing about this notebook, the keyboard feels great, its very stylish looking. 3D works really well. Some people complained about the 1366 x 768 resolution but i actully wanted this notebook because it wasnt high resolution, much faster framerates which is more important to me for gaming on the go. Not to mention when using 3D you lose about 35% of your performance so a 1080 pannel would result in some pretty choppy framerates. Also simply playing in normal 2D with a 120htz panel is wonderfull, as you dont usly need to enable vsync is prevent screen tearing

Cons: My only gripe is that it didnt come with a bluray drive for the price of this thing, some places are gettign bluray with there bundles as iv watched a few unboxings and clearly saw the bluray logo on the side of the machine. i guess it depends on what vender you buy from.
Lots of asus bloat-ware to unisntall.

Other Thoughts: The first thing i did was upgrade the nvidia drivers to 195.62 when i did i lost my 3D options, figured out you need to download the NVIDIA_3D_Vision_CD_v1.23_WinVista_Win7_English as well and that fixed everything.
I also re-partion the second harddrive into a single drive. I didnt do this with the main drive as it actully has 3 partions, one u cant see its only 20gb and it holds the linux OS that u can boot into with the second power button. i didnt want to mess this up so i left it alone.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall a good laptop but graphic resoluion is limited

Pros: Power house with a great price for performance ratio. It can handle whatever I throw at it without issue. Videos, games and presentations look great. Also the weight isn't as noticeable as I thought. I travel so I carry this around with me.

Cons: Limited resolution - I understand the need for a fixed resolution when displaying 3D Graphics but not being able to scale up the resolution when 3D is disabled and you are working in word and other apps is a real negative. It limits productivity unless all you are going to do is use this machine for gamming you need to be aware of this. It is a much bigger limitation than I thought it would be when I purchased the laptop.

3D affects - at least for me are not enjoyable. The glasses flicker to the point it can cause a head ache after a short time.

Battery life, as stated above is a limiting factor, I wish you could buy a 9 cell battery for it even if it added to the weight.

Keyboard, maybe it is just me but he laptop doesn't seem to recognize when I quickly double tap a letter to spell a word which is very frustrating.

Other Thoughts: A good buy, but be aware that there are some limitations. Had Asus been able to combine the resolution of the previous model with improved 3D graphics this would have gotten 5 stars from me and been an incredible machine.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Machine

Pros: The machine is light for what it's packing.

Back light keyboard == amazing

I don't know if anyone else said that the keyboard itself is very nice, its not like one of those other laptop where the keys are right next to each other. Also the display is super nice! It's full 1080p with 120 hz without 3d.

I've been playing call of duty mod warefare 2 on here and it's insane.

The feel to it is also very nice, the pictures make it look like an ordinary laptop but this is by far from ordinary!

So fast shipping from newegg+amazing laptop == HEAVEN!!

Also don't forget this comes with a 2 year warranty plus the first year is absolute plus.

Mouse: The mouse that comes with this is a wire, razer abyssus if anyone was wondering and it is very nice.

Both wifi and bluetooth is very nice.

The 3d on this set is very nice.

Cons: The bookbag was very small. If you are a college student, you wouldn't need it.

Playing video games will definitely put out a lot of heat, even without it the CPU is at 59 degrees C

5 out of 5 eggsG51J - great gaming laptop

Pros: Very powerful, sleek little notebook, not extremely pricey go compared alienware) and get the job done. I run crysis on high with no issue hell I even play WoW maxed on this baby, I know its not saying alot but it doesnt even flinch. I am very happy with this purchase, even tho sometimes she runs hot, i've yet to have it blue screen or shut down or even hiccup due to heat. Wireless N network, beautiful LED backlit screen and nice lighting effect on the top cover. I bought this laptop before it was part of this bundle

Cons: she gets hot but them they all do, gaming latops that is. However I have not had any problems stemming from the heat.

Other Thoughts: if you're on the ropes about a gaming laptop keep in mind that all technology becomes obsolete eventually, the sooner you pick it up the sooner you can get your moneys worth from it, I wish I could find a blu-ray burner driver for this laptop and ill be a happy camper!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat gaming rig

Pros: The Intel Core i7 720QM combined with the GTX 260M makes for some of the best gaming ive ever done on a laptop. Ive stress tested this rig with the following games.
-Dragon Age:Origins
-Call of Duty World at War
The Laptop performed excellently, and i didnt notice any considerable stutters in framerate.

- The addition of the Nvidia 3D Vision is a plus; using the 3D vision was an unexpected delight. its nothing like those Red/Blue glasses that give you a headach. instead this makes you feel like your actually in the game.

The ASUS backpack is also very nice .
The gaming mouse that comes with it is ultra responsive.

Cons: The two cons i have with this laptop are the speakers and the battery.

-Speakers: all i can say is if you want to be able to hear your music or watch video(include games aswell) go with a differant laptop. If you dont mind using headphones then it will be ok

-Battery: 1.5 hours max with all energey saving settings on

Other Thoughts: all in all this is a very well rounded laptop. I definitly dont regret my purchase one bit. If you want the same amount of power in a laptop for half the price of an alienware this is your rig.

I give this rig a 5 star rating because i dont mind its minor cons. Please dont mind my horrible puntation spelling and grammar errors :D

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Gamer/MEdia PC/Tech support computer...poor for in car/on airplane use.

Pros: -great wifi and streams 1080p video files over wireless N like a champ.
- back-light Keyboard = awesome.
- games awesome. either on it's screen, or via the HDMI out to my 52" LCD TV all on high video quality settings.
Borderlands, COD, FARCRY 2....all run great.
the only time i have had stability issues is when it's in the fastest of the power 4 gear settings.
(*tip* leave it in "media PC" Power 4 gear setting, & it won't try to overclock the daylights out of the ram/proc past what it's supposed to be at (1060) and it's been fine.)

- great media PC. video/sound quality over the HDMI to my LCD TV = awesome & easy.

- great tech support laptop because of the twin 320gb 7200rpm hard drives, eSATA...etc....and the i7!!
typically I used to have to carry an external HD with me on install jobs with all of my programs on it. no more with this large/fast storage on this laptop.

- the included backpack is very, very nice.+++
- included razor mouse = great

Cons: - very poor battery life. but in all honesty... if you're looking at this thinking of buying an i7 laptop, with 2 harddrives, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M video card that's more powerful than 90% of the populations computers...well then you shouldn't be too worried about the battery life.

- while gaming it can double as a hair drier. it's not loud, but it throws a considerable amount of heat out the side vent. situate it accordingly. it's workable.

- internal speakers didn't wow me... but during LAN i wear headphones...and while using as a media PC, the sound goes out over HDMI to my TV, and thence to my surround sound.

Other Thoughts: the Achilles' heel of this laptop is it's lack of battery run time.
I give 5 eggs because i don't care about the battery, and in every other category this is an amazing laptop that has more benefits than it's alienware competitor, for less money.

this laptop is not for you if:
- you want to watch movies on a plane with it.
(sorry....even with all wifi/bluetooth, back-light keyboard off and in power saver mode, you're only getting about 1.5 hours out of this puppy)
- or if you want to use in a car or anywhere else w/out access to external power for the above said reasons.

these were the requirements I needed, and that this laptop fulfills:
- want a portable gaming rig to LAN with
- that is also a media PC
- that will make a great mobile tech support computer for fixing other peoples computers
- you are not concerned with battery life.
