5 out of 5 eggsGood Laptop

Pros: The laptop has lasted several years and continues to work very well on the hardware side. No issues software wise that weren't my own doing.

Cons: None. Product works as described.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Bang for your buck. Pretty much can do all that i want on this amazing laptop. I can play mmorpgs, browse the net or google some youtube vids. Great laptop for the price!

Cons: Battery is lasting around two hours and when it's suppose to last around five. I believe the HD is making clicking noises, once in awhile. I googled the noise problem and i guess its just a manufactures design flaw. It does not effect the laptops performance, that I have notice so far.

4 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Sharp screen, Windows 7, easy to use

Cons: came with a lot of extra Asus bloatware that I needed to remove such as demos of games I have no interest in having

Other Thoughts: Great price, I got this for personal use and online college courses and it has been working great. I recommend this laptop if it ever comes back the price was great.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Sweet

Pros: Inexpensive, good compatabilty, robust features for the price. Didn't want to spend a lot on a laptop, but still wanted dedicated video card. Got good reviews on Newegg and similar models did ok on Cnet. Mine seems built solid and look sharp considering its age/cost. Size and weight work for me, have bad eyes so I can't go much smaller w/o straining. Considered a 14' glad I got this one. Light weight, heat doesn't seem to be an issue.

Cons: Not so much con's as things to consider when you buy. Its an older model so its not going to have the greatest hardware. WEI is a 1 because of Aero support (not really a bad thing imo). Windows Pro caught the majortiy of the drivers needed chipset, video, card reader and pci connection. Bios/windows didn't pickup the drive as SSD so I'm having to go through the windows SSD optimization tips (auto defrag off, etc)

Other Thoughts: Didn't even turn on till after I installed 8 gig of memory and a 128gig SSD. Had system built and updated in about 2 hours. Windows only takes about 15 seconds to boot, which just floors me. Based on the cost versus performance I'd recommend this system for someone not seeking to spend alot on a system yet seeking good everyday use (surfing, light games, youtube). Even after my upgrades it was under $600. Will be installing Aion and SC2 for games. I don't expect blazing performance but I don't forsee any significant issues.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat specs, horrible support.

Pros: The pros are obvious. For the money, this machine has incredible specifications.

However, there is always a catch..

Cons: The machine itself doesn't seem to have any hardware issues. However, it seems as if AMD has some very serious driver issues with 64-bit versions of Windows. Like many of the other reviewers, I'm stuck with a machine that is constantly showing colored pixels everywhere. There is no particular pattern other than this happening completely random. I did notice however, the probability of the machine giving the rainbow BSoD is very high if you plug the charger into the machine post Windows bootup. Shortly after the display of colors the machine freezes, and gives a BSoD.

Other Thoughts: I have updated my drivers, and even attempted to install older revisions to no avail. ASUS, I purchased this laptop because your support is supposed to be bar none. So far, I've received no response to my claim on this machine. This machine should have never made it past QA testing with this obvious problem.

Buyer beware, quite a few of us have had this issue and it doesn't seem to be going away.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: None - doesn't work.

Cons: Opened the box, plugged it up; nothing from the LCD. No picture, not even a flicker. Hard drive seems to boot, but couldn't really tell. Plugged it up to an external monitor and eventually got a brief glimmer of a fuzzy picture stating that Windows has encountered an error and needs to shut down - or something like that; it wasn't on there long enough for me to really see it all.

Other Thoughts: Called ASUS who pointed me in the direction of NewEgg which will only replace it. Hopefully the next one will work.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Good Product

Pros: Very good graphics, dedicated graphics card, decent processor speed, good price. I purchased this laptop because it was the cheapest laptop with a dedicated graphics card. Graphics capability is more important then processor speed with regard to 3D graphics and gaming. Much better gaming capability then the others in this price range.

Cons: Keyboard is composed of flimsy rubber which gives in to slight pressure, when you type, the whole keyboard moves up and down. It doesn't feel securely housed within the laptop. It makes the whole package feel cheaply made.
Processor is already obsolete

Other Thoughts: In general, it is a very good buy. It would have been a great buy if it wasn't for the keyboard, and you would think that ASUS could have slapped in a much better keyboard for pennies on the dollar. I would gladly have paid another 10 or 15 bucks for a better keyboard.

2 out of 5 eggsMixed bag.

Pros: Great specs for price.
Good feel . Doesn't feel like its made cheaply.

Cons: Like another review when going on full screen the screen goes black and certain images online are always pixelated. like they have blocky rainbow colors. I am not sure what causes this problem and will contact both newegg and asus about this.

Other Thoughts: if you are on a budget. this is a great buy. 450 for these specs is amazing. just hope you don't get this weird experiences i and others are also getting.

1 out of 5 eggsHD failure

Pros: Ran great for the week that I used it. Plays older games well and newer ones on lower settings

Cons: HD gave BSOD, went to backup and kept getting errors.

Other Thoughts: Great laptop, HD's are just unreliable
