5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop

Pros: I've owned this laptop for a couple of weeks now. I'm using it for gaming (BF3, WoW) and work. For work I'm currently running 4 Win Server 2008 R2 Virtual Boxes with 1GB RAM/128MB VRAM each and a Ubuntu 11.10 Virtual Box with 512MB RAM/128MB VRAM concurrently with no lag whatsoever. Gaming I can run BF3 on Almost max Ultra settings with now lag. The screen is amazingly crisp and clear.

Cons: Video lag which makes games like BF3 unplayable when running on battery only. Plugging in power cable instantly solves the lag.

Other Thoughts: Just bought 4x4GB GSkill DDR3 1600 so I can up my Virtual Box capacity. Other than that, this Laptop is def the best I've ever owned. My second Asus laptop and I will never go back to a non-Asus laptop.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid this laptop

Pros: Nice feature set including video card.

Cons: This laptop has broken 4 times, and we've returned it to ASUS 4 times for repair. Each time we get it back, something doesn't work. There is no way to escalate with ASUS tech support and unfortunately Newegg is unwilling to intervene.

Other Thoughts: Love Newegg. But I suggest they stop carrying ASUS laptops.

Pros: the laptop felt fairly solid

Cons: newegg obviously has bad stock
lcd was broken on arrival

Other Thoughts: look, we can all read, and spec wise this laptop is amazing, but newegg has obviously received bad stock. the failure ratio in the reviews should not be this high.

so I suggest getting this laptop else where if it is what you want.

I will say that newegg was very fast in rma'ing me and giving me a free return label.

2 out of 5 eggsWould be great, if the Screen worked.

Pros: Great deal with the specs. Would've loved to use it.

Cons: Didn't get a chance to use it. Arrived with a boken screen that showed very distorted colors

Other Thoughts: No apparent physical damage but even the BIOS screen has green pixels and lines. Each other screen has various color distortions and flickering.

It is not a GTX 460 issue, dxdiag finds no problems, recent drivers do not change the effect. Screenshots of the problem sent to other users do not display the problem.

I am very disappointed that such a good brand let this one slip through. Also disappointed that I'll have to wait an additional 7-10 days on the RMA process.

Pros: nice laptop when it functioned... Newegg shipped very fast as always.

Cons: poor customer service, poor repair quality...

Other Thoughts: The motherboard went bad after about 3 months so i shipped it off for repair. Just recieved it back 2 days ago and it is literally falling apart, screen is separating from the bezel so the backlight is shining out of the sides and the plastic hinge is broken, not to mention my 4gb stick of ram was replaced with 2 2gb sticks of ram taking up another ram slot... (I ordered 3 4 gig sticks so i could max out the ram)
Im about to RMA once again on this laptop. Worst purchase I have ever made. I work in the IT field and I will stay away from ASUS products in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome!

Pros: This is an awesome laptop. It's a screamer (as in it's fast). It's also surprisingly cool, even when it's being heavily used because of it's excellent cooling system, in which, the outtake vents are on the back of the laptop (behind the screen) instead of on the bottom of the laptop.

Cons: None.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst Laptop and customer service ever!

Pros: Looks good!

Cons: From failing out of the box to the screen going bad. Sent it back to the shop 8 times. Best they could do was to exchange the unit for a refurb. Getting a manager on the phone is impossible, no help when he did get on. Screen is glitchy, buttons not always working. Move on.

Other Thoughts: Customer service is a misnomer. Seriously, never returning a phone call, and they shine you on. Never buy an Asus.
