4 out of 5 eggsAwsome

Pros: For the price, it is an incredible laptop. Offer everything I needed and I can play game, tried F1 2013 and played well.

Offer great perf, can run Sql Server express, VS2013 win and desktop at the same time with no issue, perfect for lite development.

The sound is good for a laptop.

Good speed on wireless speed.

Cons: The edge are little hard on the wrist when using for long time. Come with Window 8 and not Window 8 Pro (cost 139$ to upgrade but this is Microsoft). Touch pad can't manage to have 2 fingers moving on it and the buttons are on the touch pad, so don't move you finger for button and cursor at the same time.

The battery life is little short, not 7h hour for sure more 3h.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it's a great laptop, for that price, you could not get better. Asus are strong build and usually reliable. IPS screen is really nice and don't be fool, it's a I7 dual core hyper thread, not a quad core.

Enjoy it.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Ultrabook

Pros: Upgradeable ram, mat screen, plenty of horse power, quiet, lite

Cons: Not compatible with intel Extreme tuning utility

Other Thoughts: Picked this up for the wife and she loves it. It is super lite, powerful, quiet and can even game a little with it. The ram is upgradeable to 10 GB (2 GB built in) and so are the SSDs.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product, Bad Service

Pros: Computer was exactly as we had expected. Sleek, light, fast, pretty solid battery etc. Not having any of the trackpad issues everyone else mentioned.

Cons: Service. The one issue I had was the usb ethernet adapter that came with the computer kept dropping internet while transferring large amounts of data. I updated everything (windows, usb/ethernet, bios) couldn't get it to work consistently. Tried with a different cable/usb port, still nothing. Another computer, still nothing. So I got in touch with ASUS, and after navigating their slow, poorly written site, and 30 minutes of answering the same questions over and over with their support rep, it's been determined that the usb ethernet adapter isn't covered under warranty. So my only recourse is to return the whole laptop, which considering wifi works well, and it's all I'll be using everywhere I go, seems like a waste of time. Still I'm peeved about the whole experience.

1 out of 5 eggsAwful - trackpad doesn't work

Pros: This laptop actually has a lot of good features. I'm giving it one egg because its one bad feature makes it unusable, but we'll get to that.

Pros are: the screen is beautiful a high resolution ips, it's fast, sleek, light, and it comes with all the necessary accessories and adaptors. It even comes with a case!

Cons: The one and only deal-breaker is that the track pad doesn't work. The cursor gets stuck for no reason and does not get unstuck. Restarting helps for a moment and then it happens again. Apparently, this is a common issue with this model... should have read the reviews...

I've tried updating drivers and the OS. This didn't fix the problem.

Other Thoughts: It would have been perfect... if it worked.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop. Great price!

Pros: -First off. The packaging of this laptop was great. You can tell great detail was placed in expressing the quality and class of this laptop.
- Performance is top notch. 256GB is plenty of storage. I wouldn't keep that much more data in one place anyway.
- I installed an extra 8GB stick and it greatly improved the Windows 8 experience.
-Windows 8 is definitely better after updating to 8.1. Also using Classic Shell give me the best of both worlds. Win7/Win8 experience.
-The quality of the laptop is the best I have owned. I am coming from a Sony Vaio, which I used to think made the closest quality to Apple, but Asus didn't miss a beat with this laptop.
-Keyboard is nice and touchpad is decent also.
- Battery Life is great. I am getting about 6 hours. Coming from a 15in Vaio that lasted no longer than 2.

Cons: Up the ram to 10Gigs and you are good.

Other Thoughts: I got this laptop and received a Nexus 7 32Gb free, so it made the deal a no brainer. Tried waiting for the Asus UX301 to come out but couldn't wait any longer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: The system itself is gorgeous. It's slim, light, and feels similar to an Apple laptop. There's plenty of power under the hood, too - enough for me to play modern games comfortably. It boots quickly, so there's very little waiting around before you can get to work. Sound is absolutely excellent. The sound bar is just below the monitor and the quality blew me away. Instant boot is a huge plus. The keyboard feels great, it's quiet and backlit(which is adjustable).

Cons: Windows 8 is atrocious. I tried to deal with it, but ended up taking it off and putting Windows 7 back on. After putting 7 on this system, it ran much better. The way data is split between the SSD and HDD memory is a bit convoluted when you initially get the system and go to format it. Speaking of which, getting the system to boot from a USB requires users to disable a couple settings in BIOS, and it's definitely not obvious. I had to contact ASUS customer support to figure that out. The touchpad leaves something to be desired.

Other Thoughts: There are a couple issues that someone with a little know-how can fix, but the system itself is a solid example of the old saying "You get what you pay for". After removing Windows 8 and removing all the extra partitions, this thing became much better. If you like Windows 8, then you shouldn't have to jump through the extra hoops I did. I got this laptop to replace my old Eee Netbook(nearly 4 years old), which was starting to experience hardware failure. I highly recommend this product.
