Hi,

I wanted to know which mSATA size will work best for this laptop. Has anyone installed an mSATA drive yet? I'm wondering if there is a size that fits perfectly, all the Google search results are giving me varying information.

I installed the Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD3 mSATA  128GB SATA III  MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) which I ordered right from Newegg this past summer. Dimensions are on the product page but any drive the same size as the Crucial will fit well. If you need a guide for disassembling your G46VW watch "Disassemling Asus G46vw" on YouTube (made installing my mSATA very easy). For assembly watch "Assembling Asus G46" also on YouTube. Also, when you remove the keyboard be very gentle and take your time. There is a ribbon cable that connects the keyboard to the motherboard and it can be easy broken if you pull too hard. Another thing, the mSATA will not be able to be screwed down so use electrical tape to keep the mSATA in place. Lastly, you may use HDD cloning software and easily copy your OS to the mSATA and then use your original hard drive as storage (what I did). I read somewhere that is laptop has a dedicated gpu and it says it on the specs page. I was wondering if I wanted to could I pop open this laptop and switch out the gpu for another or is it integrated?

unfortunately it's dedicated graphics meaning a soldered chip... if you're really good with a soldering iron it might be feasible but realistically you're risking more than what it's worth

how  much does it weigh with the battery?

I've not ever weighed this computer, but I can say it's not light. It out weighs a 15 in Toshiba and a 15 in Vaio. And there's no comparison between it and a 13 in Mac Book Pro. If you're looking for a light weight computer, this is not it.
