How much memory will it take? How many memory slots? Is the screen clear and crisp?

The Probook comes with 4 GB of RAM; the specs indicate that the notebook has two slots for RAM and that the maximum amount of RAM is 8 GB. Although it is not stated anywhere that I've seen, this indicates that each slot can only have a maximum of 4 GB of RAM.

I just want to make sure this computer has windows 7 and not windows 8 loaded on it? I do NOT want a windows 8 computer

To John C - Bought this laptop on Feb 12th. Comes with win7 installed and NOT 8. Includes discs to upgrade if you want. has a win7 backup/recovery on 1 disc and a win8 install on another disc.

I worried about the same thing.

aside from that the computer is great. thumbprint scanner requires a login screen password to be set up and is annoying to remove if you want to try it (requires removing your win password and then the software in an obnoxious way).

speakers are loud. keyboard is quiet and nice. full numpad. tiny UP arrow key. capslock key has a little light so you know it's on. top right corner of the face has 2 lit buttons for wifi and quick sound muting, both stay lit white and turn orange when pressed (off).  battery life is surprisingly good even while gaming. doesn't get too hot (skyrim on medium-low, lots of small games, civ 5 on almost maxed settings, fallout on good settings).

It has usb 3.0 (4 ports).  This is a good little laptop, especially after switching to a solid state drive and upgrading the ram.

The keyboard is not lighted.  There are small lights that turn on when you have caps lock or num lock on, however the keys do not light up at all.

Remember when buying RAM you should always upgrade evenly. So, if you have 4 gigs (which you should) you would want to upgrade with another 4 gig stick providing you already have one 4 gig stick.

I have bought this Laptop for a customer of mine but I think this is what you want to look for.

DDR3 PC3-12800 1600MHz SODIMM (newegg has a brand name crucial that usually isn't too bad)

This would be a pretty good machine with 8 gigs of memory or you could go crazy with one 16 gig stick or two 8 gig sticks. I think this pc can support up to 32 gigs but don't quote me. I'm just guessing without doing any research.

I recently bought one for a customer and can't remember if it has an HDMI or not but I think it has 4 USB's and yes it does have an SD Card insert slot. You can actually see it from the picture. Its on the bottom left of the pc somewhat by the left click button on the mouse pad.
