Is it the dark metal grey? Is is touch screen windows 8?

Yes it's a dark metal grey, not the light color grey like a Macbook. No it does not have a touch screen. A touch screen is pretty unnecessary for Win 8 though since it's not a tablet and therefore you shouldn't using any of the "apps" and instead should be using it like an upgraded Win 7

When was this computer built?

This computer was released to the market October 26 2012. Just google it. We like it since it's a fast machine. This was a major jump for us from XP so it took us a couple weeks to make it user friendly and learn how to operate Windows 8. We bought the refurbished machine in August and really like it since we travel a lot and it light weight.
