can this play star craft od m and battle field 2 on m with 30fps?

I haven't played battle field 2 on it but i am betting it can. It can play planet side 2 which isn't the same graphically, but logically it has to keep track of a lot of actions going on.

As for star craft 2, it plays it really well. I haven't checked the frame rate, but it can play on high graphics in a regular vs game and look quite good. It runs a bit more comfortably on medium graphics but not much of a difference. If you are playing a map with lots of units like Desert Combat, or Nexus Wars, then it lags out a little bit sooner than other computers, but can be helped by tuning it down to low graphics.

Personally, I love the machine, it has two cooling fans, which is unique to a laptop. It also has 2 gig dedicated memory to the graphics card, also unique for a laptop. The one thing i don't like is that the 4 gig memory is built into the motherboard, but it is not to big of a deal to me, It has one expansion bay for memory.

Really good deal for the price. Really good battery life too.

Question 2

One last question. Does this come with windows re install disk?  I plan on putting W7 anyways, just curious how I will update the drivers if it doesn't have a backup disk

I am looking to buy this, but I want to upgrade the HDD and the Memory.

I am going to toss in a SSHD but I can't find the right memory for this laptop. Can anyone help?

I went with a 4gb stick of G Skill 1600mhz 1.5v ram for my V5-552G-8632 and it runs fine. You can go with a maximum of an 8gb stick as It already has 4gb of ram built in incase you didn't know. Question 4

How hot does it get when gaming? (Both intensive and light gaming?) I have a laptop cooler, so will it still get increasingly hot or just warm?

I own 3 of these laptops for my children and they primarily use them for 2 types of games:

1. MINECRAFT - the laptops run this game smoothly and around 50-60 FPS (after telling NVIDIA to use it's grphics card and NOT Intel's)

2. Pirate 101, Jumpstart and Animal Jam - online worlds running off the Unity grpahics engine.  Theses games also run smoothly.

ADDITIONALY: 1 of the laptops has overheated on occasion (about once a day) while playing MINECRAFT.  I have hooked up a laptop cooling fan underneath and ... so far so good.  The other 2 laptops do NOT overheat.

Can I run Sims 3 (with all expansions) on max settings with this?

Funny you ask, I recently (5 days ago) installed sims 3 onto this. I play on Max settings, but my V5-552G has some modifications. I've installed more ram and SSD. It runs pretty good, and I've got like an 11 floor house. You should do fine medium high, you might have some lag on high, but you can 100% sims 3 and all of its expansions. Just one time to remember have a laptop cooler handy, this baby kind of over heats.

Can this run games like Arma 2 at a playable fps?

I'm not entirely sure, I haven't really run mine through the paces yet, but with a ram upgrade to a total of 12m, thus far it has handled everything I've asked of it quite nicely. (Kind of stressful getting the back off to add a ram card, but very doable. There are screws you remove, but then you have to carefully go around the edge of the back cover with your fingernail to pop the little plastic tabs out, there's no latch.)

You may need to tinker with the graphics card switching to make sure it uses the higher powered one for games, though it seems to figure this out automatically pretty well.

Question 7

I updated the Raid and Chipset drivers from the AMD website. I downloaded and updated the display driver to the current beta 13.11, but it still shows the driver version as the original 13.200.16.0. I have tried playing league of legends on High and am getting ~35-40 fps, not a constant 60 like a previous owner stated. Is there something I am missing?

Hello Sergio P, I too was having issues with the display driver install.  After hearing many good things about 13.8 beta drivers I attempted to load these and install seemed to go fine but the driver portion of the install just did not set into the system.  After trying different drivers, at one point, my system became un-bootable due to a video driver issue.  What I do know and worked for me was theat the 13.1 Catalyst driver resolved my issue.  Download the mobility version not the desktop one.

Is this product good for gaming in a low budget? Does it ship to Aalen Germany?

Games I've played on it that didn't feel sluggish (keeping in mind you will have to tweak settings on a per game basis) Diablo 3, world of Warcraft, StarCraft, starbound, half life 2 and all mods or games built on that engine like left for dead 1&2, you probably won't be able to play like crysis 2 or 3 but maybe 1. Make sure to use a chill pad if you plan to game on it for more than like an hour at a time otherwise the right side of the keyboard will get really hot.

What SATA connection does this support? Is it Sata I, II, III, etc.?

It should support SATA 3 although internally there is NO msata slot. I read someone opened it and put an SSD in the X414 model and upgraded the ram and it was quicker.
