Does this have touch screen?

Any Acer Chromebook with a 'P' at the end of the model is touch screen capable.  So C720-3605 is not, C720-3605P is touch screen.

Can ?I run microsoft products on the chrome OS

If by "run Microsoft products" you mean "download" Microsoft Office, then, no, that cannot be done on a Chromebook or Chromebox.  However, you can create, open and edit some of the software in Microsoft Office Suite (eg, MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint).  To do this, you would need to go to the Chrome Web Store and launch the app, Microsoft Office Web Apps.  If you have a Microsoft account (eg, Hotmail, MSN, or Outlook, then you would be able to create, open, or edit in the cloud any .DOC, .PPT or .XLS file.  I use this very frequently and have not experienced any problems w/ this.  Also, there is another third party app which does a nice job creating, opening and editing MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint files and that is Only Office Personal. That also works very nicely and can also be launched from the Chrome Web Store.

Is there any difference between this model and the acer c720-3404?

Specs are identical but the model in the system doesn't match up to any part # I could find. So when I downloaded the OS from google to make a recovery usb stick I used the image for the C720-3404 and it worked just fine.

Question 4

Any issue with wifi or connectivity? I ended up returning Toshiba CB2 recently due to intermittent wifi. Reviewers said the Chromebook and ultraportable in particular have a lot of wifi issue.

No connectivity issues for me. But I've found that because it is so quick, the WiFi isn't always connected by the time you open the screen and launch Chrome.

Is the RAM integrated?

I haven't actually taken it apart, which would void the warranty. I have read that the RAM is soldered to the motherboard.  So, the answer to your question is yes, if "integrated" means "not upgradeable."  However, the 4GB of RAM seems to be doing just fine. I am pleased with the speed.  If speed is important to you, do not get one of the 2GB models.  I am going to make a wild guess that the RAM can not be upgraded on any chromebook without voiding the warranty. Also, I don't know if the system would support more than 4GB of RAM.

I don't believe either of the two new i3 models of the acer c720 have touchscreens. Some of the 'older' c720 models do however.

Question 7

How is the speed and stability? I usually use 8-12 tabs at once, plus a word processing program, and on occasion I am playing online music or video. Also, how is the battery life during heavy and normal use?

The performance is great. Should be able to handle that workload no problem. The battery isn't stellar since it's a small netbook but you should be able to get a good 3-5 hours depending upon what your running and the brightness of the screen.

How does this model compare with the Acer C720-3404?

The best information I have found on this is that they are essentially the same but have different vendor codes. This question came up in July 2014.  5his site will not allow me to include a link for you so I will try to cut and paste the information below:

I'm looking into buying an Acer chromebook, but both of these models seem to be exactly identical, save for the serial numbers (the 3605, and the 3404). So, what's the difference? I know that the 3404 is coming out this month, but it seems like the 3605 has already been released...

Probably different vendor codes. Often times manufacturers will assign different model numbers to products sold through different vendors. Some use it as an excuse to avoid having to match competitor's deals.

+bellebellebelle and +gerbal100....  I think you are both correct. I just checked the Acer website and the data sheets for both the C720-3404 as well as the C720-3605 were identical except for the "Part Number." They were both listed for the "ComfyView" display.

Well, I guess it has an Acer motherboard as designed for the model.  I would call it the Acer C720-3605 motherboard. But that's really not too useful. The most relevant information is the CPU, memory, and storage, which Newegg does show.
