5 out of 5 eggsWorth the purchase

Pros: * Awesome profile. Slim light and easily carried.
*Sturdy and well built. little to no flex in casing
* hardware specs have no equal in size.
* Customer support is on point and easy.
Overall, this laptop has been an absolute pleasure to own. Razer took a lot of time making sure this blade was engineered to the best standard of modern technology.

Cons: * Expensive. Obviously. However, I believe Razer owns up to the old adage "you get what you pay for"
* I held serious reservations about the purchase of this laptop due to the reviews about the screen panel (TN). Where the screen on this laptop is not the best where viewing angles are concerned, It certainly isnt as bad as many make it out to be. long story short, if you sit at a desk (or stationary) position you wont be disappointed.

Other Thoughts: The only Issue I had with my laptop was an unruly "A" key that was coming off of the keyboard when gaming or typing. It was a minor thing that the laptop actually had to be sent back for fixing. Unfortunate as it took almost two weeks to get back. Razer support was quick, effective and easily understood. The RMA process was mostly painless aside from the wait. When the laptop had returned it was clean and completely fixed.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: - Battery
- Size
- Keyboard feel
- Mousepad (with synapse 2.0 driver deleted)
- Gaming
- Screen

Cons: - storage size

Other Thoughts: This laptop will do everything you want it to. From playing games like battlefield 4 at 1366x768 on high settings comfortably to editing documents and doing power point projects. It beats buying a mac book for a similar processor any day of the year. The battery life is amazing on this laptop. I bought it mainly for school and the occasional heavy gaming. It works beautifully. My only gripe is the storage space that it comes with.

5 out of 5 eggsWow, a complete solution

Pros: Battery Life
GTX 765/ 4600HD
Sleek looks!
Screen res allows you to max out DOTA 2, Dead Space 3, BF3, SC2 etc.
Thin as hell!
Razer's GameBooster shuts off background processes to milk more out of your hardware

Good for Medical School Lecture as well. =P

Cons: Fingerprint Magnet (You get a wipe though)
Not an absurd Mac PPI (But its PLENTY and you get better FPS)
I guess the view angle isn't amazing (why are you looking at your laptop skew anyways?)
Toasty after longer gaming sessions, not near WASD but near the upper edge. (you don't feel it, but you know it's there. Just run CPU Temp and keep it where you feel comfortable)

Other Thoughts: You're going to get a lot of comments like "How did you turn your Mac keys green?" and "What is that?"
It's a celebrity notebook. =D

Great support (broke the nub on the PSU strap, already got a new one)

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful Black Aluminum Portable Gaming Powerhouse

Pros: Extreme build quality, excellent travel size and weight for all around use, no need to add or change any hardware because of high Windows 7 Experience Index Scores. Best designed laptop I have ever owned with dedicated Nvidia graphics card!) The SSD is a memory chip!!!))) Lighted keyboard!

Cons: I do not like Windows 8 so changed my Awesome laptop back to Windows 7. There is no disc drive but who cares! No wired ethernet port but who cares!

Other Thoughts: I am extremely happy with this laptop and will add external hardware to complete it.) No problemo!)

5 out of 5 eggsInsanely Powerful, Impossibly Thin! (Had to, HaHa)

Pros: i7 Haswell Quad Core is Fast!
Nvidia GTX 765m handles my games at max settings!
256 gb Samsung mSATA SSD stock!
Killer WiFi card performs great!
Keyboard and Touch Pad best I have seen on a laptop!

Appearance and Build Quality:
I hate to say it, but this is what really pushed me to buy the Razer Blade. I love everything about its appearance. The matte black paint job, sleek slim design, glowing green keyboard and Razer logo on lid. Sharpest looking laptop I have ever seen in my opinion. The build quality is great as well. The aluminum makes it feel nice and sturdy. No flex whatsoever! You would have to see one in person to truly appreciate it. Pictures do it no justice!

Cons: TN Panel has horrid viewing angles.
CPU, GPU, RAM all soldered to the board.
I would say price, but you get what you pay for!

Other Thoughts: The 1600x900 resolution does not bother me at all. That is perfectly acceptable for a 14" laptop. However, this display is about as TN as they come. Mediocre colors, bad viewing angles. I did not dock an egg for this because I was already aware of the display quality and I understand why they went with this panel. Razer was more so aimed at straight performance. A 1920x1080 IPS display may have provided a better picture quality, but the 1600x900 TN provides higher FPS in games and faster refresh rates. When I am at home I have my Blade hooked up to an Asus 1920x1200 IPS 2ms(GTG) Monitor and I can play League of Legends at max settings using it. All that matters to me. I am only using the laptop display when I am on the go.

Another thing to keep in mind with this laptop is that the Processor, GPU, and RAM are all soldered to the board. The GPU is expected, but the Processor and especially the RAM being soldered to the board may steer you away from this laptop. Just know that if one thing fails, the Blade will need a whole new motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best looking gaming laptop!

Pros: I am going to be brief. Pros:
-Plays the latest games smoothly on normal to high setting(Metro LL, Tomb Raider, Bioshock infinite, Crysis 3)
-Super fast
-Incredibly good looking laptop. Matte black aluminum! Sleek and sexy
-For a gaming laptop it has an amazing battery life. Around 4-5hrs on normal use and 2hrs when gaming
-Keyboard fullt compatible with Razer 2.0
-Responsive touchpad and keyboard feels great even on prolonged periods of typing.
-Razer has amazing support. I had a problem with the power brick making an annoying clicky, noise. I gave them a call and they send me a replacement immediately.
-I was looking for a laptop that could pass as my work laptop and that I could also game on without compromising on the size, and also without looking too ostentatious. And this definitely did it for me.

Cons: Cons:
-To me there are really no cons to this laptop. But I could see where people would complain about the lack of ports(no Ethernet). I also heard a lot of hate towards the screen and I honestly was really close to not buying it for that reason. However I am glad I bought it and the display does a great job for my purposes. It's really not a bad display, sure it is no comparison to some displays out there such as the retina mbp, but it still provides a great crisp image.

5 out of 5 eggsThe facts are out

Pros: I do not own this, just reviewing because I believe people should hear certain information before buying something like this. I borrowed my friends who just bought it without consulting anyone. He is not very good with computers needless to say.

This thing will run any and everything for the next few years on high to ultra settings no problem.

The stock SSD will be amazingly fast for those who have never had one, but once again, you get what you pay for.

Cons: FACT - for $2000 you can buy a laptop AND Gaming Desktop that will run all games now and in the near future on high to near-ultra settings.

This only has 256GB SSD, thus meaning if you need more storage, it will have to be external or you will have to spend quite a bit replacing the SSD to something larger.

Other Thoughts: I worry about the cooling of this laptop. It is such a high powered machine that overheating could become a problem when dust starts to collect on the inside.

Price tag is a huge turn off to me and I will nit-pick anything near this price for a laptop that will have a 3-5 year lifespan.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredibly Powerful, Impossibly Small

Pros: You can't fully appreciate this laptop until you see it in person. The thin profile, light weight, and excellent build quality are things you simply must experience. Attention to detail has obviously been worked into every element of the design.

This laptop was exactly what I was looking for: power and portability without compromises, all in an fantastic-looking sturdy chassis. It has run everything I've thrown at it so far without a hiccup. Mass Effect 3 on maximum settings, Adobe CS6, Visual Studio, batch music file conversion, all have run very quickly and flawlessly. The best part is that I am still getting over 6 hours of battery life in all scenarios except gaming.

Coming from an Alienware m15x, I cannot say enough about the portability of this laptop. It is less than half the weight of the m15x and about a third of the thickness. While mobile processors have come a long way, I am still amazed that a laptop only 3 years newer than what I had previously can have so much more power, yet last 4 times as long on battery power and weigh so little. I have to give credit to Razer for thoroughly impressing me.

I'll get in to a few more technical details next to whet the appetite of you techie potential buyers:

CrystalDiskMark scored my sequential read speed at 498.1 MB/s and write speed at 399.4 MB/s when I used the default settings (5 attempts, 1000MB file)

In addition to the previously mentioned 6+ hours of battery life I should mention that this laptop does not throttle itself on battery power like the m15x did. This was one of the things that annoyed me the most as it made the laptop essentially useless on battery power for the mere ~2 hours it could manage. The Blade works with the same performance whether on battery or AC power.

The combination of Windows 8 and the SSD make for an extremely fast boot time. From a powered off state, I get to the sign in screen in roughly 6-7 seconds if there are no updates, configuration changes needed during the boot sequence.

The trackpad is the best I have ever used on a Windows machine. It is amazingly responsive and excellent at picking up multi-touch gestures. It is fully customizable allowing you to turn on/off individual features.

The keyboard is excellent as well, it has good spacing which allows for comfortable typing. Key travel is also fantastic, providing just enough to be comfortable and good feedback.

Overall, it's just a very well-made and properly-designed laptop. It's primary focus may be on gaming, but it's excellent for a variety of other power-hungry tasks as well. As long as you accept that standpoint, you will not be disappointed.

Cons: I have but two minor complaints that are far from being deal-breakers on such a fantastic machine.

First, it can get quite hot while performing resource intensive tasks, so you won't want to use it on you lap while, for example, doing serious gaming. Despite this, the fans are very quiet to the point that you cannot hear them at most times.

Lastly, I know many people have complained about the screen so I wanted to address that here.

In my opinion, this is a pretty high-end display. It is matte, which will produce a slight grainy effect if you're not used to it. The resolution is more than adequate for a 14" panel, it has a high enough pixel density that everything is clear and crisp.

The viewing angles, especially vertically, can be constraining however it is very easy to adjust it so that you are viewing the panel as intended. It's not an IPS display or full HD, so some people who are used to such features may be disappointed. But, this is definitely better than the displays used on the majority of laptops and should in no way be considered a deal-breaker. It was designed for gaming, so anyone attempting to use it for other tasks should keep that in mind.

Overall, these two minor complaints are not enough for me to knock an egg off this rating. Especially since I knew about them before deciding to purchase this laptop.

Other Thoughts: While $2,000 may seem expensive for a laptop with these specs, in my opinion the battery life and sleekness of the laptop are worth it. If you are willing to sacrifice portability and battery life for the sake of saving a few hundred dollars, then this is not the laptop for you. But if you want portability and power, you can't do better than this.
