4 out of 5 eggsSleek and stylish, but do not get if you are using a laptop that's more than 13 inches

Pros: Built very well, the finish is very stylish. The manual fan control is a huge plus. The speakers are surprisingly loud.

Cons: Uses up a USB slot and does not have an additional port built in. My laptop does slide off from time to time, but not a huge deal.

4 out of 5 eggsNice, plugs on right side

Pros: Good sound, sturdy construction, quiet fan

Cons: little small for a 14" laptop, but still pretty good if you want a minimalist design. USB cables were on the right side, so I had to tape cables underneath to connect to my laptops USB on the other side.

Other Thoughts: Im very pleased with the sound. Should be good for a room of 12 people or so.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I needed

Pros: The aluminum top is nice, and the fan puts out enough air that it keeps my laptop significantly cooler. The adjustable fan speed is another plus, though I always keep it on full blast since it's inaudible compared to the air filter in my room. The only LED is on the side tucked away under the edge of the pad, and it's not very bright anyway. The speakers sound great for what they are; they're vastly superior to my laptop's speakers, and they don't overwhelm my (or my roommates') ears when I'm watching a movie at night in my bedroom.

Cons: Though I love the speakers on this thing, they're either "full-on" or "full-off". The only volume control is through your computer (or other attached sound source). It's easy to accidentally blast yourself. The S/N ratio of the amplifier in the pad is pretty high, so there's very little hissing from the speakers when no sound is playing from a source. (In fact, any hissing is completely inaudible to me when the fan is on - which it always is).

The speakers point to the sides instead of pointing where the laptop screen is pointing; it might be worth hacking on sound directing panels or something. IMO, they get loud enough that it doesn't really matter, and you end up with the sound sort of filling your space instead of blasting your face.

Also worth noting is that this pad must be placed on a solid surface for it to do its ventilation job properly. One's lap, a pillow, or a mattress top would interfere significantly with the airflow.

The audio cable that came with the pad was of very poor quality, and it would only carry sound for one speaker. I was afraid at first that one of the speakers in the pad was bad, but a new audio cable did the trick. Such cables tend to go bad eventually anyway; I generally view them as consumable supplies.

The pad uses a mini USB cable instead of micro USB, so the cable can't be used to pull double duty as a phone charger.

Other Thoughts: The pad's speakers and fan are both running off of a 4-port USB 2.0 hub with an optical trackball attached, for what it's worth.

This pad would have been worth it at full price. It was a no-brainer when I saw it on sale. It's been on pretty much 24/7 since I got it about 7 weeks ago; no signs of mechanical or electrical problems yet.

4 out of 5 eggssmall but loud enough

Pros: I wanted a little more boost so I could show videos to maybe 10 people from my laptop, I think this will be loud enough. The fan was not needed.

Cons: My 14" ASUS laptop hangs over the edge a little, but that is ok because I want to take this in my laptop backpack, so a little small is probably better.

Only one speaker worked at first, I had to twist the speaker cord to get it to work both speakers

Other Thoughts: The wires come out the back right, one for the headphone output from your laptop, the other for powering the fan AND speakers with a USB port. I wish it was on the other side, and a retractable cord., These cords are just awaiting to get lost and tangled.

4 out of 5 eggsI spent weeks researching and waiting. This fell on my lap at an opportune time.

Pros: The aluminum base is exactly what I was looking for. Fan speed control is a perfect addition, and it's very quiet even at max. Even includes a slight breeze for right handed mouse users! Did I forget to mention, IT HAS SPEAKERS?!

Cons: Speaker input is through a 3.5mm cable, not a separate USB driver. No extra USB ports on the base. Dell Studio was awkward to find proper placement.

Other Thoughts: After catching some great deals on a processor and memory upgrade, as well and a new wifi card and other internal peripherals for my Dell Studio, I noticed a severe increase in heat along certain areas. The touchpad was a particular point, as the ram is housed underneath it.
I spent about a week of researching "coolers" until I just about gave up. This came across at an amazing deal at the perfect time, and well designed speakers were an added bonus.
Buy This.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Laptop cooler

Pros: I have an HP dv200t laptop which is known to have overheating issues. resting temp was somewhere in the range of 50-70C. using the cooler on a low fan speed has dropped that ~20 degrees. Fan speed is controlled by a wheel rheostat so its completely adjustable. Quiet even on the highest speed. On/off switch for audio. Speakers don't appear to be anything special but they're functional. There's is a little plastic bar/lip on the surface of the cooler to keep your laptop from sliding off.

Cons: nothing to speak of so far

Other Thoughts: Got it on sale for a little more than half price. Wasn't sure if it would be good, but figured it wasn't a huge waste if it wasn't. After seeing it in action, an excellent value. Probably would be worth it at full price.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall Great Product

Pros: -Great Sound (For its size)
-Very Quite Fan
-Cools well
-Speed Control
-Aluminum face

Cons: -Plastic casing/switches/inputs feel a little "cheap"
-Top seems oddly designed

Other Thoughts: Was looking for a laptop cooling pad when I stumbled upon this product and took a risk ordering it despite it not having any reviews. Main reason I chose to pay a little more and get this one was that my sound system recently failed and thought the speakers could help me get by until I pay up for a new one. That being said I was very impressed with the sound this thing puts out. Music has a very full sound with rich bass and is crystal clear. Never going to be able to compete with a full system but dang- these little speakers far exceeded my expectations.
As for the fan, it's very quite, speed control works great, and it keeps the product cool. Not much more you can ask for. Only thing I thought was a little odd is that their is only an opening for air on the top in the shape of the fan. Given the perforated design of the aluminum it seems odd that the whole top is open for air to move through.
Only other con I would mention is that while the aluminum and speaker material quality is great, the black plastic elsewhere on the pad feels a little cheap.
Oh, and make sure you measure your laptop to make sure it fits. I have a 15.4' laptop screen and if my laptop were any bigger it wouldn't fit.
