5 out of 5 eggsAwesome cooler for New ASUS laptops!

Pros: I bought this to help cool my ASUS G73JH-A2 back in 2009 while I was in Iraq and it gave me a minimum 2c temp difference, which is pretty big for a laptop!

Cons: Lights not really visible with the way the cooler sits, so they are kind of pointless... not worth a loss of egg though

Other Thoughts: Get rid of the LED lights, you can't see them anyways...

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Solid construction

Cons: Died on me. At first the switching off the LEDs stopped working. Then the fan stopped working. There is no lighting up of the green power light meaning that the control box part has failed.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Tom,
We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. We can replace it under warranty service. Please contact ttsupport@thermaltakeusa.com for warranty instructions.
Best regards,

1 out of 5 eggsDissapointment

Pros: Material construction is very nice. The price was Ok as well.

Cons: As soon as i opened the box the fan started making some noise. It seems it was hitting the case for some reason. A tap fix that issue. The button for the LED Control is broken and doesn't do anything. There seems to be a quality assurance problem. First time I have an Issue with Thermaltake and will never buy one of their products ever again. Not worth sending it back and getting a replacement because I will be eating the shipping charges.

3 out of 5 eggsnot great but works

Pros: Quiet, big fan, kept my laptop cool, blue light

Cons: the surface is slick and my laptop tends to move around on it, setting it on my lap isn't very comfortable and you can't see the blue light unless its dark.

Other Thoughts: Look at it from the bottom and it looks cheep.

3 out of 5 eggsAverage Cooling Pad

Pros: Decent brand.
Not huge air flow but decent.
Helps keep my laptop lower temp while playing games.

Cons: Doesn't fit my 17" laptop as well as i'd like it to.
Like other people have mentioned...colored LEDs on fan are pointless since you cannot see the fan because your laptop is covering it..
It's pretty heavy, it weighs(3.55 lbs.) 1/2 of what my laptop weighs(7.10 lbs.)
I think the worst feature I personally dislike is the open bottom, it doesn't rest well on my lap or chest when laying down.

Other Thoughts: Overall it's not a bad cooling pad, like I said the thing I dislike the most is the open bottom where it seems like it puts all the pressure of your laptop on four corners instead of a flat surface.

1 out of 5 eggsdoes it work?

Pros: Looks pretty...quiet. Has a big fan!

Cons: The big fan barely moves any air at all. I hold my hand right above it and I can't feel a thing. I am trying it out on my macbook pro right now and thus far seems to make a negligible difference...if I want to play any games tonight I have the feeling I'm going to have to go back to the sac of frozen peas.

(hold on guys....my peas are thawing, I'll be back in 40 minutes)

Other Thoughts: Hate to say it...but this one is pretty much a let down if you need something to really throw off the heat.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome.

Pros: Cools amazingly well. Big fan is pretty silent. Very sturdy construction. Bought one for myself and my father, and we're both very happy with it.

Cons: Well, there's no real point to the LED's seeing as how your notebook will be on top of it...

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what its supposed to do

Pros: Fits my 17.5 inch laptop
Laptop doesnt slide
Cools my laptop about 10C when gaming.

Cons: Can't see the fan led so whats the point?
The cable was faulty. If the adapter wasnt bent enough I wouldnt get power. I managed to "fix" it by bending the plug and taping it down to the back of the cooler.

Other Thoughts: It is what it is. If anyone had done proper research before buying this item they would have known how much cooling it was capable of. Would of been five eggs if not for the faulty capable but im sure it was just bad luck.

Manufacturer Response:

Hello Blank,
We are sorry for this inconvenience. Please contact ttsupport@thermaltakeusa.com so we can help you with replacing the cable.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy Mac

Pros: This cooler keeps my MacBook nice and cool while playing WoW/video games. The MacBook has no vents underneath so I was concerned that it would not be effective, but my MacBook really does stay cool, which keeps it running fast. The cooler is sturdy and constructed well. I'm happy and so is my Mac.

Cons: While the lights are pretty, there are too many light color options to pass through before you get to the off option.

1 out of 5 eggsblah..

Pros: Pretty lights, on and off functions.

Cons: Doesn't push air , doesn't cool down the laptop. I found that building my own cooler was better. With Direct AC power plugged into the wall... Not USB 5Volts.

Other Thoughts: Building my own cooler was better, and it actually cools the laptop down. Any 5 volt USB laptop cooler wont cool the laptop down much.
