Pros: Bag is really nice. Very much well built and sturdy. many compartments. material is not cheaply made or put together. I feel it isnt an old man bag or a kiddy bag. right in the middle where i feel its professional looking without looking like a stiff. shoulder strap is well padded (carry multiple text books AND my 9lb G53SW and the brick battery pack) which helps.

Cons: wasnt free?

I wanted the alienware backpack, but i needed a case that i could throw onto a shelf in my locker and be able to quickly pull my laptop out of for use. This lets me just unzip and lift the top and I'm about ready to go. It's made nice and strong with the fat, higher grade zippers and such that I see on the better bags. Actually has a slot to store a second laptop, but storing cords and such for two pcs would make for a tight fit (and heavy). The sling comes off and I like to store it in the smallest zipper whenever I'm not travelling. It's supposed to be a checkpoint-friendly bag, but with airports the way they are these days I always end up taking the pc out of the bag to scan anyway. It stores everything I need, but it was made to keep a slimmer shape and doesn't store huge amounts of accessories.

Cons: My only real complaint is that I wish there was a little foam padding along the bottom opposite the zippered end in case the bag were to be dropped with a computer inside. The sides of the bag are padded nicely, but if I dropped the bag while carrying it by its handles it might not be so good for the computer. The alienhead gets scratched over time as the bag is unzipped and thrown open, but after nearly a year I'm supprised at how good the head still looks. The finish is pretty thick for something like that. I've also had a little bit of the black paint rub off on the hinges where the shoulder sling attaches to the bag, which isn't so thickly put on, but isn't that noticable, so i really don't care. Also, when I'm lazy i just close the pc and sit it on top of my bag inside my locker and over time the foam padding on the front of the bag has "memorized" the weight and now appears with little nicks and dents, but nothing severe.

Other Thoughts: When I bought my alienware I fell in love with too much to have any other bag but something related to the brand, and as such the asethetics were very important to me. I'm glad the bag still looks so good after nearly a year with nothing showing signs of tearing. It looks well made and rather elegant for a computer bag. I'm deploying soon, and though I think I'll buy a cheaper computer to take with me I feel better about the sand with this bag and I'll probably store my xbox in this thing, too.
