High-performance processors need equally high-performance cooling. The ASUS Silent Square Series cooler assembly uses innovative tech to chill out power-hungry processors. This unit is made to use with Intel Socket 478/775, including the newest Core 2 Duo models and AMD K8 platforms. (Note: This is not designed for use with AMD AM2 Socket processors.) Dual-sided dense aluminum fins work with the copper base and five pipes to quickly draw heat up and away from your CPU. Unique "wave-shaped" fins give more surface area to speed heat exchange and heat transfer.
The Silent Square's active 92mm cooling fan is at the center of the dual-sided cooling assembly and uses a pulse-width modulation (PWM) control to adjust fan speed according to CPU demand. The 1,800rpm fan creates the bare minimum amount of noise--as low as 18dBA. A VRM (Voltage Regulator Module) shield inside the cooler directs airflow from the fan to surrounding areas critical to processor operation and overall system stability.
Blue LEDs light up the cooler to give your desktop some extra flash to its looks and the unit's universal 3-in-1 retention module makes installation a three-step process you can complete in minutes.
