Asus continues to think outside the box – the boxy design of most CPU coolers, that is. Its radical, radial design provides maximum cooling with 128 polished copper ribs arrayed around a 92mm sliding bearing 2,300 RPM fan. PWM control support lets the motherboard BIOS adjust the fan speed according to thermal need resulting in reduced noise when CPU utilization is low.
Six separate, copper heat pipes distribute heat away from the CPU to be dissipated by the airflow running through the core of the cooler. Offering support for the Intel Pentium D Dual-Core CPU as well as Intel Pentium 4 LGA775 and Socket 478 processors, the Silent Knight II also fits AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual-Core and AMD Athlon 64 (-FX) (939/940/AM2) CPUs as well thanks to the selection of included sockets and backplates.
Mounting the cooler is straightforward, and the heatsink sits high above the motherboard to eliminate any conflict with other components. Its 36.5CFM airflow will quickly purge heat from the system. Blue LED highlights accent the smooth copper surfaces of the cooler to add more than a little bling to the interior of your case.

- Pros: This is a great fan! Deffinatly worth the money. Keeps my AMD 64fx idling between 37-45c and after running a game for a few hours it only got up to about 50c. Very easy to install and since i had an Asus motherboard I didn't even have to remove it from the case it mounted up with the stock plate under the MB. The way the fan needed to cool pointed in the wrong direction in my tower, BUT the fan comes with an adaptor plate which allows you to maneuvre the fan 90 degrees which made it fit perfectly. 10 min install, not even. Is cooling just as good as my previous liquid cooling system that came with the Alienware, but broke.
- Cons: None so far
Works great
- Pros: Keeps my quad core at 38 -39 deg. Easy to install.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Make sure you install on MB outside of case. Have to put support on back of MB, but not hard. on Intel MB. You can hear it hum but not too loud.
