Pros: Asus got another winner here! This thing rox at cooling! I dropped almost 20 degrees from stock.

Cons: When I mounted this on my BIOSTAR TForce TF8200 AMD MoBo but it had to be rotated 90 degrees....thereby making the lion's face sideways. Now, this is no big deal....just took a little away from the asthetics.

Other Thoughts: I am running an AMD Phenom 9550 Agena 2.2GHz AM2+ 95W Quad-Core with 4GB 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Crucial Ballistix Tracer RAM

The Blue Hulk

Pros: Subtle Blue lite illuminates a hugh quad leaf behemoth, arguably the only component larger is the PSU. It sits atop an AMD Phenom Black Quad core 9950/140W---so cooler is much much better. 2X2gig Corsair Dominators in an Antec Mini P180. CPU temp now hovers around 40 degrees C.
Fit and finish is impressive; and while the fins are thin they aren't sharp---good thing because this unit will require considerable contact to secure it in place.

Cons: Without partially removing a few fin rows or using memory with smaller, lower heat sinks--can only use two out of four memory banks. Even with lower profile memory this heatsink/cooler would have to be removed to access the memory.

Other Thoughts: [1] This cooler comes with three types of mounting hardware, 2 for Intel and the single spring assembly for AMD. There's a possiblity that using an INTEL chip/Moptherboard this cooler could be mounted to allow four memory chips with high heat sinks. I guess it's wishful thinking that INTEL & AMD would settle on one type of mounting platform, using a backplane and spring tensed screws through the motherboard for security and ease of use. [2] AMD needs to go to the "Nub contact" instead of easily mis-aligned pins. AND the nylon/plastic push and turn retainers are a design nightmare

Pros: I've got this heatsink installed above an Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8 GHz cpu and it's dropped the average temperature 10 C during the roughly 10 hours since it's installation. I'm using Arctic Silver as the thermal paste.

Cons: It's BIG. It'll be a tight fit if it's used next to RAM with heatsinks on them.

Other Thoughts: The metal push pins used as the attachment mechanism for Intel cpus to the mobo is something I wasn't crazy about but I was impressed when I saw how firmly they held.

Get it. You won't be disappointed.
