COOLER MASTER RR-PCH-S9U1-GP 92mm CPU Cooler

  • 650 - 1800 RPM
  • 41.76 CFM
  • Cu Base + Al Fin + 3 Heat pipes
ICON Loading...

Step up from that stock cooling fan and heatsink to the Hyper TX series CPU cooler from Cooler Master. It's made of a dense array of aluminum fins on a copper base and three heat pipes, for superb heat dissipation. It installs in minutes and is specially designed for use with LGA 775 Socket processors, including Intel's newest dual-core 65-watt Conroe family of CPUs.

The side-mounted, long-life bearing, 92mm fan is fitted with special blades and has a frame design allowing it to create the airflow of a larger fan in less space. The heatsink also has a fitted cover on it to direct air to cool other surrounding components. It spins as low as 650rpm, creating only 16dBA of additional system noise. A pulse-width modulation (PWM) control can be used to automatically adjust fan speed up to 1,800rpm according to the demands placed on the CPU.

  • newegg Three Heatpipes Three high performance heatpipes maximize heat transfer to push cooling performance to the next level.
  • newegg Pure Copper Base A pure copper base maximizes heat absorption and transfer for excellent cooling.
  • newegg Extra Quiet The 92mm long life bearing fan works at a whisper-quiet 22dBA.
  • newegg Easy Installation The heatsink clips enable extremely convenient installation without additional tools or the need to remove the motherboard from your case.
  • newegg Compatible with LGA 775 Compatible with the LGA 775 platform, the COOLER MASTER Hyper TX (RR-PCH-S9U1-GP) supports a wide range of Celeron, Pentium 4, Pentium D and the latest Core 2 Duo CPUs.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent quality heat sync. Runs practically silent.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have yet to test overclocking, but am under the impression that this massively increased CPU overclock abilities.

5 out of 5 eggsWow, dropped my CPU temp 60%

Pros: All I can say is this is the best fan on the market. Super quiet, easy to install, high quality parts. I was worried it wasn't going to fit in my case because it's so big but it fit perfect. My CPU was running 60-70 celsius on stock Intel fan, bought this and it immediately dropped to 19-20 celsius. Simply amazing.

Cons: Absolutely none at all. Amazing fan, great price.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Fan

Pros: Relatively quiet, easy to install, solid construction. One of the better CPU fans I've purchased.

Cons: A bit noisier than I had expected, but compared to the stock fan I was using it's hardly a whisper.

4 out of 5 eggsFrom 65*+ to 34*c

Pros: Does what it says, cools the CPU, and cools it well.

Cons: The push pins are very finicky and I ended up having to remove my PSU to get my hands down on one side to get them to properly seat.

Other Thoughts: Not a bad choice for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsFAN! Tastic

Pros: Cools way better than a stock heatsink, about as good as any other more expensive air cooling solution. Nice and quiet moves a lot of air.

Cons: Install on a evga 680i LT board in a Antec Nine-Hundred case was tough. The pins were very hard to turn clockwise when installing on the cpu in the case.

Other Thoughts: This is the 2nd Cooler Master CPU cooler like this I have bought. My other is on my old AMD 3200+ system and was definitely easier to install. I think these are the best coolers you can get for the money if you overclock some.

5 out of 5 eggsworks well

Pros: Good bang for the buck.
Does the job better and queiter than the stock heatsink and fan.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: 4c cooler at idle, 10c cooler at full load compared to the intel heatsink. Room temp and case type and fans effect cpu temps as well.
a 120mm P/S fan, 2 120mm and 1 80mm case fans but a warm room at 23c.

5 out of 5 eggsIce cold

Pros: Keeps my E6600 nice and cool @ 3ghz. 20C idle and 33C load (1.45V). Gonna try higher

Cons: Big. Make sure you have room.

Other Thoughts: Best cooler for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsImpressive

Pros: Overall my temps dropped about 5 degrees from my stalk cooling fan (Still breaking in the Arctic Silver 5). I have a Pentium D, so it went from about 54 to 49 at idle. I like the fan design. You will hear all other fans before you hear this one. Installation was a breeze. I noticed other reviews said to remove the fan off of the rubber dowels. After I inspedted the assembly, I discovered that the entire fan/shroud assembly was slipped onto the heatsink. All you have to do is find the small catch and push on it while you pull on the shroud and it comes completely off (fan and all). Make sure you orient the fan correctly when installed so that the exhaust is pointed tword your case fan and you will have the best results. All around a great item....especially for the price.

Cons: It is slightly large but fit in my case just fine. If you are worried about clearance this is not the fan for you.

Other Thoughts: Be sure to use a good grease or heat transfer material as this will drastically help lower temps.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Cooler

Pros: Excellent product. Easy to install. Cools very well. I've got my Core 2 Duo e4300 overclocked to 2.7 GHz and it barely gets past 38 C. The fan is large, well built, and quiet. The unit is not overly large, but it still does an excellent job of cooling. Highly recommended!

Cons: You must pay attention to the screw turn lock mechanism on the push pins, otherwise you'll have a difficult time installing on a motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Yes, the fan assembly really does have to sit on the motherboard tight. Don't freak out if your motherboard bends slightly from the force needed to secure all four fasteners. I won't hurt your board or CPU. This is design to have a tight and almost non-removeable seal with the CPU's heat spreader to ensure proper cooling. Don't freak out. Just pay attention to what you are doing and you can install this within 1-2 minutes.
