Question 1

Will this work for my CPU? My cpu is a Intel Core I5-2500k  Sandy bridge.

Not knowing the CPU number of the Intel chip (1366-775) you have and not having built an Intel system in about 10 years...I can't really answer your question about Intel CPU's. On the other hand...having built several AMD system in the past 10 years...I can tell you this and the other makes of this cooler will fit any AMD CPU built in the past several years...no matter what it says about a particular CPU it is made for.

The other thing I am sure of with this cooler is make sure whatever case you are using is not anything smaller than an ATX case. Anything smaller...you may not be able to put the side panel on. This cooler barely fits inside of the new Blade case and the Cool Master Elite case I've used. The top of the copper pipes are within one inch of the side panel.

I will also tell you that if this cooler will work in your system...it will keep your CPU COOL! Myself...I can be running Handbrake for days on it and have not seen the temperature go above 48 C under a heavy load. Right now just typing this...my BIOS shows as running at 34 C.

is it quiet? i run a lot of power intensive programs and my current fan sounds like a jet engine.

It is very quiet, even with the addition of a second fan which is an available option. I have a very robust system and I also run extremely intensive programs as well as high end games. The only concern I have found with this fan is having adequate clearance over RAM and case side fans. Make sure you do check that out.

Will I be able to fit this inside a Corsair Carbide Black ATX Mid Tower case?

According to Corsairs website, for the Carbide Series® 200R Compact ATX Case the Maximum CPU Cooler Height is 165mm. The listed total height of the  Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus is 159mm.

However, the EVO edition of this cooler is the most recent edition and is more efficient at the same price and dimensions so I would recommend getting the newest version.

Either way, according to the specified dimensions on both sites this should fit fine, but you won't have a whole lot of wiggle room. I might consider a small closed loop water cooler.

TL;DR It should fit.

Will it work with an AMD FX-6300?

Yes, but don't purchase for a rebate. I never received my rebate fronm Cooler Master.  Fan on this guy wore pretty quickly; spindle got play and fan started to make noise.  If I was to do it over again, I wouldn't pourchase this or anything else from Cooler Master.  I am requently disappointed by the quality of their products and the amount of low quality plastic that they use.

Could you use this with a 100w cpu?

Yes you can I have a 150 watt cpu and this product works flawlessly. Just make sure you have enough room in your pc tower

I like to buy an extra fan. Can anyone tell me the original fan part number? I like to purchase tow the same fan for the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus.

There is no part number. The original product comes with one fan but 4 clips for two fans. You use that second set of clips for another 120 x 120 x 25 mm fan if you have or buy an extra.

The only way you're going to get a set of clips is to write cooler master tech support or to get a pair from someone who is only using one fan.

Will this work with a Ivy Bridge i7 processor LGA 1155?

I used mine with LGA 1156 socket, just fine. I guess it would work with 1155, since the clamp is adjustable.The position of the 4 holes on the motherboard is almost the same beween 1156 and 1155 socket.

I have MSI Z97-GD65 mobo with Intel I7 - 1150 socket and have Corsair Vengeance ram, does this have clearance to fit? Case is Fractal mid R4.

the hypo 212 evo is 160 mm tall which is a little over 6.2 inches. what i do is take a tape measure and measure from the top of the cpu to the inside edge of the case and subtract space for any side door fan most fans are 25 mm up to about 140 mm.  If you have 6.2 inches of space and your ram is not the real tall type you should have enough space

Is this compatible with the ASUS m5A99x AMD motherboard, and the AMD FX-8350 Vishera 8-core CPU?

Yes it's compatible, but be aware of what type of memory you are using. Memory with high profile heatsinks may pose a bit of a problem when seating the heatsink on the cpu. With the layout of this board I would suggest using a good low profile memory to eliminate this problem, or you can rotate the cooler to point either up or down but to maximize heat dissipation I would point the cooler fan to an exhaust fan to pull the heat out of the case.
