When ultra-high performance coolers demand additional performance, count on Blade Master PWM fan series to increase cooling efficiency. Blade Master offers a balance of high air pressure with balanced airflow and minimal noise levels. With the Blade Master family of 120mm, 92mm, and 80mm fans, unique wave-form blades create increased pressure that exceeds competitor fans at the same airflow. The highest air pressure allows Blade Master fans to blow directly through dense performance heat sinks for extreme cooling.

  • newegg High Performance Featuring distinguished wave-shaped blades, the COOLER MASTER R4-BM8S-30PK-R0 provides up to 4.23 mmH2O of air pressure that triumphs over competitors at the same air flow for better cooling performance.
  • newegg Silent Operation The PWM fan with adjustable fan speed ranging from 800 - 3000 R.P.M guarantees the best ratio between performance and noise level. The anti-vibration rubber pads around the edges dampen noise for more quiet operation.

2 out of 5 eggsonly lasts about a year

Pros: cheap

Cons: It's ready to be scrapped after 15 months. The bearing is going out and it sounds aweful.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

We are sorry to hear what happened to the fan. We can definitely help in replacing that fan under warranty. To ensure fans live their rated life, it is imperative that they are cleaned regularly as dust that is not cleaned, can definitely cause a fan to fail. If you have further questions, please let us know.

Respectfully,

5 out of 5 eggsDoes it's job

Pros: Cheap 4 wire CPU fan that does it's job.

Cons: Had to drill out the mounting holes on one side so I could get a screwdriver in to tighten the screws to the heat sink. It's plastic so no big deal.

5 out of 5 eggsnot loud at all

Pros: Installed a pair of these in my Silverstone GD09 case. They come with rubber spacers and make no noise I can hear. They push a decent amount of air for the size. I'm using them as exhaust fans in rear of case.

Cons: A lil pricey at $10 each.

5 out of 5 eggscpu fan

Pros: the fan is exactly the same as the fan that comes stock on the coolermaster hyper 101, perfect for push pull airflow

Cons: none that i can see yet, is fairly quiet

Other Thoughts: slightly overpriced when i bought it but it was still worth it to get the exact same fan as on my cooler for ideal air flow

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: 3000rpm 80 mm fan
4 pin pwm
great static pressure
fairly quite at max speed

Cons: sleeve bearing... wish it was either ball or fluid/rifle

Other Thoughts: Even though its sleeve it should last at least four and a half years at max rpm running 24/7.

bought two of these along with a 4 pin pwm splitter to cool my vrms heatsink and north bridge on my asus m5a99x evo r2 motherboard. They do a fantastic job at keeping it cool. They're also long enough that to cover all the way up to my water block on my 8350 and help cool the socket as well.

I highly recommend these fans. One of the few 80mm that are both high rpm and 4 pin pwm.

5 out of 5 eggsYay fan!

Pros: Quiet
Moves a lot of air
Top speed not necessary to sufficiently cool the CPU

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a stock fan after I replaced the motherboard. The new motherboard wanted a 4-pin fan, and the stock was 3-pin, so the old fan was going at 4000 RPM and was incredibly loud. I installed this new fan easily. The cord was plenty long to reach the CPU fan pins. Runs this system at a stable 40 degrees C at about 700RPM.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked like I needed

Pros: Needed this for an older ASUS board that wasn't reading a 3 pin RPM, and this worked great!

Cons: n/a

4 out of 5 eggsIt blows!

Pros: The fan does move a lot of air, even at half speed.

Cons: It is noisy at 100% speed, but that is to be expected with this fan. I found that with my system, keeping it at about 60% speed will get me the best air flow before the noise becomes an annoyance. I imagine that better mounting hardware and more solid case would reduce some of the noise.

Other Thoughts: This fan is perfectly adequate for my system.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: They move a lot of air, for their size. Variable speed. No LED. (I hate lights.)

Cons: Power cables are surprisingly short. If you put these into a Cooler Master HAF XB, you're almost guaranteed needing to buy 4pin extensions. Unless you connect them via molex adapter (which they don't come with). If you do that, see next con. Minus an egg.

Loud at high speed. This is to be expected, especially for an 80 mm fan. The details page says 28 dba at 3,000 rpm. That is absolute bunk. I'd say more like mid to high 30's dba. However, I'm not going to take an egg for their noise level.

A few of the frame screw holes split a small amount while I was mounting them. Minus an egg.

Other Thoughts: These are simply too loud at full speed. I'm going to have to buy some extensions and connect them to my motherboard and limit their speed to somewhere around 1,000 - 1,400 rpm. That will obviously reduce the amount of air they move. Adding filters will reduce it even further but that's a trade off I'm willing to make.

3 out of 5 eggsOkay fan.

Pros: -PWM.
-Good air flow.

Cons: -Does get loud at max RPM.
-Not as cheap as I feel it should be.

Other Thoughts: "Long life sleeve"... Long life compared to what? A Mayfly?

I bought 2 of these for a small server and a year later they're already rattling around.

Obviously YMMV based on your usage. I've been running them near continuously for the past year so that may factor heavily but I didn't expect them to fail this soon. CoolerMaster generally makes quality product so it's a bit disappointing...

I have 4 CoolerMaster ball bearing 80mms that I use as a heat exhaust system for a cabinet that have run nearly non-stop for the better part of the last 6 years and they run as silent and smooth as the day I installed them... Heck they are so old that the CM stickers have fallen off the hubs! Granted they are much lower RPM/CFM but it speaks to the general quality of CM's fans.
