Can the red LED be switched on and off? If so, what is involved?

The LED is on constantly as it comes wired OEM. However, you could possibly do a re-wiring job that would power the fan separate from the LED. But that would require some re-engineering on your part. So, not possible in its standard form.

Question 2

Just to be clear, I have a Cooler Master HAF 922. My front fan is making an annoying rattling sound and I believe it needs to be replaced. Would this be the replacement fan for the front of the case? 
Also, could this fan be used to replace the top fan as well of the HAF 922?

Yes you can use it for top and front.   I have a top a few front 200mm fan.   It works awesome.   My system under its hardest working condition  stays very chilled.  It never heats up.   I also recommend the cooler master aftermarket fan for your processor.   With those three things short of a liquid cooled setup,  it can't be beaten.

would this fan fit on the top panel of a CM Haf XB?

Front: 120mm fan x 2, 1800 RPM, 21 dBA (or 140mm fan x 2)
Rear: 120mm fan x 1 (optional), and 80mm fan x 2 (optional)
Top: 200mm fan x 1 (optional)

All you would have to do is replace that top 200 mm fan with this one, might be hard to work around, but you can do it.

I haven't worked with this case in particular, but I know for sure that there is a 200mm mount on this case, which will fit this fan.

This fan is supported by both the original full size HAF X, and the newer mid tower HAF XM. Up to two fans on top, and one on the side.

Will it fit on the side panel of my Phantom 630 and is it more quiet than the stock fan that comes with it?

According to the spec list of the Phantom 630, it will fit. I don't know how quiet the stock fans are on it, but I can say that these fans are very quiet. I love both of mine.

Question 6

I am wanting to mod the side of my case to fit this fan.  What are the dimensions from mount to mount, so I will have a proper fit?

There are two sets of mounts.
First set, (the squared off ones)  is 6" x 6" or  8.5" diagonally.
The second set is 7" x 4.25" or 8.25" diagonally.

Question 7

This may be a silly question but i'd like your opinion. I have a haf 912 case with the asus z97 pro-gamer motherboard which lights up red along the left side. Should i get the red fans (2) front and top, or get the blue ones? I'm thinking the blue might give better contrast. thanks

My computer is basically the same build. I went with all red fans on my HAF 922. I love the look of it at night, glows red everywhere and has this really mean presence surrounding it. Not a huge fan of the contrasting colors, myself. Atleast not in the HAF 912. In a case like the Corsair Obsidian 750D with a large viewing window, contrasting colors could look pretty sweet. My friend has this case and has strung led strips around the entire case and it looks really nice. For cases like yours and mine however, details like that are harder to see so I kept my whole case to a red and black theme. I feel like contrasting colors could possibly drown each other out since in these cases, you mostly only see the glow.

Will this work in a NZXT Phatham case?

If your case is a mid-tower, then it should fit. Just make sure you have the screw holes to fit the fan. The fan is pretty big. If you have liquid cooling then it will only fit in the front which you don't have an opening. Best to check your specs.

Question 9

Does anyone know if this fan will fit in the mounts for the top exhaust for the CM Storm Enforcer? I just don't want to buy it then it not fit.

Hi Michael,

After looking at the specs for the CM Enforcer, it looks like it supports a top fan that supports a 200mm fan. So I would say it is safe to get for your case if you feel that 700 RPM is a good amount of what you have in your case. If your chasis is filled with a lot of hardware, you should probably get a 1000RPM 200mm fan instead. But the fan will definitely mount for the top part of your case.

Will this fan work on the side of the HAF 922?

That is where I have installed it. 
Hardly makes any noise. 
I actually disabled the front intake fan and the HAF 922 is barely audible.
If i wasn't so lazy i'd buy 2 others and replace the factory fans.
